EXCLUSIVE: Topher Grace will star in Gently Down The Stream
, which Justin Zackham is directing from his script for Millennium Films/Nu Image. He joins Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl and Amanda Seyfried. Grace will play Jared, the son of the characters played by De Niro and Keaton. He’s a doctor who ends up falling in love with a young Latin woman, awkward since she’s his adopted brother’s sister. The pic begins shooting in July in Connecticut.
Grace will next be seen in HBO’s Too Big To Fail. He also stars in The Double with Richard Gere and The Giant Mechanical Man. WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners made his deal.

Don’t be silly. Robert De Niro will play her, obviously.
Although I’m not entirely clear why it’s necessary to say she’s “Latin” in the summary. Would it be equally important to say she’s “left handed”?
Of course not, there isn’t any left handed people of latin descent.

Wow. I’m surprised Diane Keaton’s career has plummeted to the depths that she’d actually do a movie for Nu Image. De Niro isn’t such a shock because he’s done it before and stopped taking real acting jobs about a decade ago but this news shocks the hell out of me.
If Nu Image’s reputation wasn’t bad enough, Topher Grace (a.k.a. the modern day Tony Randall) being in it makes it seem even more horrid.
Topher’s a great actor. Funny guy as well.
I read this a year ago. Script is literally one of the best I’ve ever read. Can’t imagine why they’re doing it with NuImage unless Stallone is getting a cameo. I’m betting Seyfried’s the bride, can’t remember her name. Psyched to see this.
I agree Dinklage! This script is unreal! De Niro, Keaton, Heigl, Seyfried and Topher Grace are playing Don, Ellie, Lyla, Missy (the bride) and Jared. And I hear Susan Sarandon may be joining the cast as Bebe, Don’s second wife Ellie (well, not ‘wife’….it’s more of a Goldie Hawn/Kurt Russell situation, as you know). NuImage apparently swooped in after De Niro and Heigl joined Diane Keaton in the cast because sadly, the sole financier passed away unexpectedly.
After his breakout performance in ‘ Traffic ‘ and his wonderful comedic turn ‘ In Good Company ‘, I wanted Topher Grace to have a bigger film career . This guy is incredibly talented, but for some reason he is not able to reach the A-list of the young film actors.

Thank you! Exactly! It’s a huge (and hilarious) story point. Alejandro’s (Topher’s character’s adopted brother) mother and sister have never been out of Ecuador. They’re just coming to the US for the first time for Alejandro’s wedding to Missy (Amanda Seyfried). His sister, Nuria, is a 20 year-old Sofia Vergara type.
At this point I rather watch Topher Grace than DeNiro doing yet another phone in paycheck role w/his deadpan series of acting tics. Just wait until he learns how to just get paid by NFC scan. . ..
