EXCLUSIVE: Just two weeks after ABC canceled cult favorite V, the show’s standout Morena Baccarin has joined another drama series, Showtime’s Homeland. The upcoming thriller, from 24 executive producers Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, centers on Marine Sergeant Scott Brody (Damian Lewis), who returns home eight years after going missing in Iraq, and Carrie Anderson (Claire Danes), a driven CIA officer who suspects he might be plotting an attack on America. Baccarin will play Jessica Brody, Scott’s smart, strong wife. She replaces Laura Fraser, who played the role in the pilot. The series, which also co-stars Mandy Patinkin, is slated to debut in the fall. Firefly and Stargate alumna Baccarin played The Visitors’ diabolical queen Anna on V, which ran for two seasons, and recently did a guest stint on CBS’ The Mentalist. She is with UTA and Seven Summits.

The fact that Mandy Patinkin is co-starring probably shouldn’t dissuade you from watching…i’m a fan, but I mean, geez, given his track record, he’s probably gonna bail after a season.
Yeah, I guess all those Tony and Emmy and Grammy awards and nominations make him a liability. Hey Trinity…”Matrix” was a movie, there is no blue.pill, and Mandy Patinkin was a star before you were birn & will be one after you OD on paint can fumes. Huff away!
That’s Absolutly great, I Love her!!!! But if a show is canceled and another channel wants rescue this show how is the utmost term for they do it? cause I was really hoping for the possibility of this happen with V!!
I can’t see Elizabeth Mitchell turning down offers wringing her hands waiting for another network to grab V. She’ll be elsewhere. With two leads gone what’s left? ABC’s mangled take on V is dead and buried.
Dont count Morena out of a V revival yet. Actors can and have worked on two series at the same time. Cable seasons are already shorter allowing more time for actors to work on other projects. Right now its too early to tell but the show could be moved to TNT. The audience was plenty large to follow it to cable. Warner Bros is open to it and TNT is a Time Warner Co. So we may see Anna back sometime in the future (2012). And congrats to the talented Morena! I loved her on V.
Well this does not bode well for this show. Everything she gets involved in lasts 1-2 seasons and gets cancelled.

I’m an old f/rt, and have seen many movie stars and tv stars in my life.(77yrs) all I can say is , that she has to be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. first saw her in firefly. besides this , she is a damn good actress .I hope she does well in whatever she tries. actually just want to see her on the tv or movies again.
I personally wasn’t overly impressed with her contribution in Firefly, but she nailed the role of the Queen in V. Also I think her roundish baby face looks have matured, and her looks have improved. But that comment about better and younger and more exotic… Maybe more exotic, but I would like to see if Morena looks as good as Ashley Judd as she ages. I wouldn’t compare their qualities which are different, Ashley Judd has more warmth and sweetness. Morena has a certain cool elegance something like Audrey Hepburn.
Love her!!! Would love to see her rock our planet with a Lesbian character role like Rachel Shelley and Pam Grier and so many other gorgeous talented females have and always will. Go Girl!!!
