Relativity Media has announced that it has tapped Watchman screenwriter Alex Tse to pen the company’s “reinvention” of The Crow, which first appeared as a 1994 film starring Brandon Lee that was based on the James O’Barr comic book series. Bradley Cooper is attached to star and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is aboard to direct. Tse is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment. Of course, this is the project, from Edward R. Pressman and Apaches Entertainment, that has Relativity and the Weinstein Company trading lawsuits over disputed distribution rights to the pic; the Weinstein brothers distributed the 1994 film via their Miramax.

Relativity + Crow + Fresnadillo + Cooper + TSE = HIT
Nice! If the studios are going to ruin my childhood at least they have competent people to do it.
Well stated. I am totally against remaking this classic, but at least they’ve got a great team here.
Awesome news!!!
I’m still not warming up to him in this role. Although I did fall in love with him for his emotional scenes with Sydney…
Alex Tse has yet to write a good script. Good luck guys!
exactly what i was thinking but no one else is saying
Man, I loathed the film adaptation of the ” Watchman “.
You and everyone else, I have yet to find a fan of the graphic novel who liked that film, then again fan boys are extremely difficult, if possible, to please.
I found it to be boring.
Meh. His changes to Hayter’s Watchmen draft could be generously described as cosmetic.
Gotta love when Asians getting love in the screenwriting side of Hollywood! (so few and far between if not downright nonexistant) Good stuff!
Are you sure he can write a franchise picture? He’s got next to no credits.
“Watchmen” was brilliant. Scathing, faithful, vivid. Fanboys simply couldn’t handle Alan Moore’s (& Alex Tse’s amazing adaptation) accurate, honest skewering of their precious, ridiculous genre.
Can’t wait to see how Mr. Tse treats “The Crow”.
I am that only one that knows or remembers that The Crow was abused and degraded with crappy sequels? Or how about the TV series that was essentially a reboot of the original?
So who is going to play the Tom Hanks role in the reboot of Splash?
Now that I have posted it someone… :<
