EXCLUSIVE: CNN’s Senior White House correspondent Ed Henry is jumping ship. Fox News Channel is expected to announce later today that they have signed Henry as their Chief White House correspondent. He will take over a position most recently shared by Wendell Goler and Mike Emanuel, who are expected to get promotions. Henry is the second major CNN journalist and on-air talent to defect to Fox News since HLN topper Ken Jautz took over as CNN Worldwide president, following the January move of John Roberts.
As Senior White House correspondent at CNN, Henry received praise for his reporting on the Bush administration’s contradictory assertions regarding senior Iranian officials sending improvised explosive devices to Iraq, winning the White House Correspondents’ Association’s Merriman Smith Award for excellence in presidential coverage under deadline in 2008. Henry was previously a Congressional correspondent at CNN and reported from the campaign trail for the cable network’s coverage of the 2004 presidential race. Before joining CNN, Henry was a print journalist at Roll Call, where he served as a senior editor and a columnist.

People are leaving CNN like rats on a sinking ship…and based on CNN recently…this is no surprise.
Say goodbye to actual reporting, Ed. From here on, it’s all talking points from Roger Ailes.
Better than taking talking points from George Soros. At least Ailes loves this country.
Say goodbye to crickets, Ed, and hello to an audience.
You know who ruined the integrity and quality of CNN? It’s former president, JON KLEIN. His arrogance, incompetence and horrible taste will live in journalistic infamy!
I love it when these supposed mainstream reporters betray their true feelings and openly join the dark side over at Fox… just another nail in the coffin of Palin’s supposed “Liberal Media” idea. Ed Henry has been coyly stuffing his coverage of Obama full of right-wing snark for years. I’m just glad to see he’s moving to his natural environment.
Liberal journalists gotta eat too Prop. And seriously, one network that swings in the opposite direction of all the others is your argument against “Liberal Media?” That’s like saying the single pickle on top of that double quarter pounder negates the supposition that fast food isn’t healthy.
Does a new FOX contract also include a manual on lying laced with undertones of racism?
Not unless their legal team has been cribbing from MSNBC’s, no.
Do tell. What was the last lie you heard on Fox News? And the one before that? What about the last racist comment? Lay it on us….please.
Oh, another parrot that doesn’t watch and goes by hearsay.Typical liberal.
As soon as they find out he supports equality in marriage and a woman’s right to choose. He’s fired!
Spoken like someone who has never been married, because any married man will tell you there is no such thing as “equality in marriage”.
Amen.
Hello Ed Henry, Why Did You Jump Ship, If You Hadn’t Realized Yet, You The Reporters, Who Follow The Campaign Trail, Are The Ones That Make It Possible For Who Wins Or Loses, You The Reporters Make The Big Difference, Now You Are Probably Out Of The Public Eye, Good Luck On Your New Position At Fox,
From his face I bet they make him sit at the children’s table. Remember the days when journalists had to look they had experience?
I’ll do you one better: remember the days when journalists looked experienced because they WERE experienced? Nowadays they just stand in front of their green screens and let technology do the footwork.
I ALWAYS KNEW HENRY WAS A RIGHTY…..
“talking points from Roger Ailes”. Geez, could you be less interesting? Same tired, old, boring crapola any leftist uses whenever Fox News is mentioned.
Originality, Boo – it’s a good thing.
Sorry, Roger Ailes. But nice that you read Nikki Finke.
Sell out the first chance you get; is that the lesson here?
Is “integrity” for fools and children, like believing in the Tooth Fairy?
The bottom line: The opinion shows at night are about as far right as you can be and still not be totally crazy. But, the news shows with people like Shepard Smith, Chris Wallace, John Roberts and now Ed Henry seem legitimate to me.
I refudiate that dynamic: “Most of what we say is bullshit except for these guys right here.” It is similar to printing a page 17 retraction on Friday for a A1, above the fold, 24pt lead story running Monday- Thursday, i.e. the damage has been done. As Jon Stewart pointed out in his interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace – He Roberts & Smith are the patina of credibility papering over the decaying simulacrum of a news organization that is Fox.
When people think of Fox News they think of Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly, Fox N Friends, in that order which again is why Fox viewers are the most consistently misinformed segment of the viewing population.
Yes, and Stewart also claims that Washington Post and New York Times do not have a liberal bias either. Keep drinking the koolaid.
Greta Van Susteren is “far right?”
I have been a Democrat all my life just as all my family has for generations. I religiously watched CNN, MSNBC, C-Span, and would scoff at Fox. Then 2008 arrived, and even before that I knew but being a partisan dem. didn’t want to admit it, came and the lopsideness of reporting supporting the Sen. Obama was just unreal, and the way they, the aforementioned networks, were in the tank for him. I began to watch some of Fox’s coverage and found it to be much more balanced than what was coming from the so called main stream media. I was Clinton supporter from 92, as well as a great deal of liberal moderates. From then on I have called out my party leadership especially at the national level on how left wing extremists they had become. I was at the swearing in of Pelosi for godsakes in 07, but 08 changed all that, she began to show her true colors. Needless to say I am a constant viewer of Fox news, they by far are as balanced in reporting than the other networks, and while I agree that the prime time line up is skewed to the right, especially Hannity, I can’t watch him, the other news programs, Shep Smith for one is first rate. So, you all liberal elitist don’t bash something until you have an objective view on what is really going on in the media.
You dont fool me…lifelong liberal dems doesnt call themselves ‘lifelong liberal dems’
Always seemed like he was a conservative, so this is no surprise to me.
So funny how you all go crazy and blast someone with rude insults and criticisms when you think they might have an opinion different from your own. Is that supposed to show how much more intelligent and enlightened you areand than everyone else? Sounds more like a few bunch of hypocritical elitists to me.
Boo hoo hoo some disagrees with you. They must allbe be stupid.
Grow up and show some respect.
FOX news really is nothing more than an arm of the Republican party.
Greta Van Susteren, Shep Smith, Bob Beckle, Alan Colmes, Liz Chadderdon, Lanny Davis, Susan Estrich and Kirsten Powers are just some of the rightwingers on the FOX news payroll.
Wow, such insight. Combs, David and Beckle as ‘just some right wingers”. Put the Saul Alinsky handbook down and THINK!!
Jim I think he was being sarcastic!
Beckel and Colmes? Right wingers! Bwah, ha, ha! Have you ever actually watched these guys. They were defending Weiner AFTER he fessed up. They’ve never met a liberal outrage they couldn’t love. Lanny Davis, Susan Estrich and Kirsten Powers are Democratic Party operatives! Did you just fall to earth?
I laugh everytime a liberal goes completely off the rails when a reporter who actually does a very good job covering the news, since that’s what their job is, not a talking point, all of a sudden if they’re moving to Foxnews, they’re right wingers and are given talking points from Ailes….Atleast on FOXNEWS, you get both equal sides of the story, debate and not a talking point position like you get from others… MSNBC anyone, the organization that has a open line for talking points from this administration and has very little to NO other side of the spectrum..
I was wondering what happened to Ed Henry, shame he left to go to FOX we all know how biased that news network is. Atleast with CNN he was taken seriously, had a voice which I’m sure he’s not as a supporter of Obama now as he was on CNN. It’s truly ashame, he was a good journalist and we all know what type of people watch Fox, Stupid Stupid One Brain Cell Viewers.
I have to think most Fox haters have never watched it. Aside from opinion shows like Hannity’s, the news is so fair I have to mute it sometimes like when they air too much of an Obama speech!! I love “The Five” and Bob Beckel is one of my faves on that show. Fox IS fair, watch it and see for yourself instead of jumping on the bandwagon.
