After launching two sports news shows this year, Comedy Central is not continuing with either. The cable network has decided not to go forward with a second season of Sports Show With Norm Macdonald, which ended its freshman season 
June 7, or Onion SportsDome, which wrapped its first season March 15. Onion SportsDome premiered with 1.5 million viewers, Sports Show With Norm Macdonald with 1 million, both airing behind Comedy Central’s top-rated series Tosh.0. Jon Benjamin Has a Van, which succeeded them in the slot, opened with 1.16 million last Tuesday. For the Onion, this was one of two branded series that launched in the past few months. The other, Onion News Network on IFC, has been renewed for a second season.

I loved Sports Show with Norm. Every new show I watched and liked this past year has been canceled. I’m starting to think it may not be coincidence………..

Ouch. I’m a big Norm McDonald fan – and this has gotta hurt him. Getting canceled by Comedy Central? They don’t cancel ANYTHING – their shows just fade away. And when their HIT is Tosh? Oh, dear.

I’m not sure what you mean by Oh, dear for Tosh being their hit. The numbers that show gets are off the charts for the key demos on cable (or network for that matter). There is not a single network that would not like to have the numbers that Tosh gets.
I think he just hates the show.

The trouble with that is that any of the so-called younger stuff sucks much worse. TV in general is going downhill rapidly. Technology is good these days but nothing to show us.
2 horrible shows. Futurama is the only watchable thing on Comedy Central.
What a fucking world where the edgiest, most irreverent and funniest guy in the history of television gets replaced with Jon Benjamin has a van. Long live Norm.

Loved the Sports Show. Never missed an episode. Norm should shop it to ESPN or Fox Sports.
Watching Tosh into Norm was like driving 90 on a freeway in the middle of nowhere only to turn a corner into inexplicable gridlock traffic. Love Norm, but his show felt so outdated and slow.
The producers are all school. They are not young, hip, quick moving and creative like TOSH! Therefore, traffic…..

Was Norm, you know, “slow” or something? I saw him on a talk show once and it seemed like he was missing something important….or mixed up….like maybe he was gay but didn’t know it…..or wasn’t smart but thought that he was? Whatever, sorry you lost your job, Norm. Hope you find your niche that is waiting for you somewhere.
Oh to be young and naive. Dig back to DVDs of his time on SNL and you’ll learn all about his comedy style.
You think Norm was slow. If you had a sense of humour you would realize how genius his comedy was, some of the top comics regard him as the funniest person they know. His jokes are dumb, but if you pay attention it’s reverse sarcasim or just plain sarcasim but executed very well. He is very smart, as his comedy is unique and clever.
both of these shows pale next to Sports Monster with Nick Bakay, Joe Bolster and Jon Haeyman. That was how you spoof sports – especially the Jim Valvano coach that was paying assistants to sleep with his wife and the player that was robbing the 7-11 that spontaneously combusted. And the time Nick was doing the minor league baseball with a monkey as his radio booth partner.
Why does anyone bother w/ Norm?
Norm eliminates the need to take drugs. Gonna miss him

This is the same network that canceled The Sarah Silverman Program.
Sports Show was extremely gunny every single week. It was so funny most non sports fans would have even found it funny.
Disagree on this one…I’m not a sports fan, but I am a huge Norm fan and I just couldn’t get into this show. Comedy Central should greenlight new episodes of the Norm Show or at least pick up the reruns
