Film Movement has acquired Dusty Bias’ first feature film, Prairie Love, for the U.S and Canada. The comedic romantic drama, which played at Sundance this year, revolves around three lost souls looking for love on the North Dakota tundra. The indie distributor plans a release early next year. “We’re excited to announce the acquisition of one of our favorite films in this year’s Sundance lineup,” Film Movement’s president Adley Gartenstein said. “Dusty Bias’ beautifully shot quirky romance is a perceptive exploration of loneliness that had us engrossed from beginning to end. We cannot wait to share it with audiences across North America.” The acquisition was negotiated by Gartenstein and Steven Beer of Greenberg Traurig on behalf of the filmmaker.
