ABC said today that it has set the final broadcast of All My Children for Friday, Sept. 23, officially ending a run that began more than 41 years ago. The multiple-Emmy-winning soap opera first appeared on the network in 1970. “Out of love and respect for the show, many beloved actors will be returning to Pine Valley, including Josh Duhamel (Leo Du Pres), Eva La Rue (Maria Santos), Thorsten Kaye (Zach Slater), Carol Burnett (Verla Grubbs), Kate Collins (Janet Green), Jennifer Bassey (Marion Chandler), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie Chandler) and Leven Rambin (Lily Montgomery), among others yet to be announced,” the network said in its release announcing the end date. ABC will launch one of its replacements, lifestyle series The Chew, on Sept. 26 at 1 PM ET.

Very sad. I will miss this show. I would love to see Susan Lucci on a primetime show. She does great with comedy.
Sarah Michelle Gellar still not set for a cameo?
how would that happen? there is already someone playing Kendall
It will end on a cliff hanger…
If ABC is smart they’ll snag her for Desperate Housewives! Come on Marc Cherry… your creative juices should be flowing already for what you could cast Ms. Lucci in!
Unfortunately, La Lucci cannot act. Perhaps they can put her on Two and a Half Men.
Hey John, you know what they say about opinions…..Just proves they’re right.
Lily is so hot thank god she is coming back
“Love and respect for the show….”
Hah – that’s comic. ABC has neither, for the shows nor viewers.
The Chew will be done and finished in one season.
Being no great lover of soap opera’s,(a waste of acting talent
,money, and videotape ), I finally get my comic relief; HA,HA,HA !!!!! Thank God another soap is history!!!!!
I will not watch Chew or any other show you put on ABC in those time slots.
There is just no respect any more for things that have served the human race well. With that said, everything dies in this world.
I think The Chew will have very BIG shoes to fill.
I wont watch nothing n those time slots either
