• I always wanted to see a dark, noir Green Hornet film directed by FFC, art directed by Jim Steranko. But since that property been poisoned by Rogan and company not much chance that will happen…

• I was at the 1978 press confab for “Apocalypse Now” where Coppola likened his film to war itself. Afterward, I tore down to the front of the crowd where he was expounding enthusiastically to a small group about the coming video revolution. He talked about images, overlays, manipulation of visuals, computer graphics, and creating whole worlds in the camera via the computer. Within ten years it all started to come true (I have it on tape). He can do what he wants.

  Francis Ford Coppola is one of the geniuses in this industry, one of the few who has added to the syntax of film and enriched film history. Makes a nice grape juice, too.

• The whole “Hollywood Invades Comic-Con” thing has officially jumped the shark. Name me one fan who would care about this POS.

  FFC please retire, the one-two punch of the Godfather and Apocalypse Now has made history. We gave you a pass on Godfather III. Now go make wine and be an elder statesman.
