Following Ryan Dunn’s death in a car accident this morning, G4 has put his new show Proving Ground on an indefinite hiatus. Proving Ground featured the Jackass alum as he tried to re-create in the real world professional stunts from films and TV shows as well as imaginary ones from video games. The series, which has eight more episodes in the can, started off slowly last week with 31,000 viewers for its Tuesday premiere. “The show will not be airing for now and discussions are underway re future plans,” a G4 spokeswoman said. Earlier in the day, the cable network issued a statement on the passing of Dunn, 34, who crashed his car early this morning in a wooded area in Pennsylvania, killing himself and his passenger: “All of us at G4 are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic news that Ryan Dunn has passed away. Ryan’s comedic wit and signature no-holds-barred approach made him an incredible talent and his work on G4’s Proving Ground was flawless. Ryan will be missed dearly by his legion of fans and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Seems a little extreme.
Normally I wouldn’t post on any site I’m reading Informative material from, but today because of you I felt inclined to. @ Emma, can you be any less of a a$$hole. I hope when you die people make smart aleck comments about the way you died. Instead of celebrating the mans work you diss the way he dies? Maybe you should look at your life a little, cause I’ll be the first to post on your obituary. It infuriates me that people like you are allowed to do anything. B4 I go on a tangent I’d like to say that Ryan is in our hearts and prayers, and to his immediate friends and family we feel your loss. Don’t bother replying Emma, as I’ll probably never visit this site again. Just know that karma sucks…
How can anyone describe a man’s death as “shocking” when the deceased routinely recreated stunts from IMAGINARY VIDEO GAMES? What’s next, the shocking death of another man-child who jumped from a rooftop wearing a super hero cape?
He died in a car accident you dumb beaver….not performing a stunt….show some respect.
Emma, it’s time for you to go back on your meds.
Huffington Post excerpt: “Dunn posted to Twitter a photo of himself drinking with friends just hours before the crash.”
Hey Fuck-Tard –
He was seen drinking A beer – not pounding shots. No report said he was intoxicated. Dumb bitch.
His Blood alcohol level was two times the legal limit and he is estimated to have been traveling over 100 mph in a 55 zone. So I guess that the people who are trying to say he didn’t die, and kill his buddy, because he was driving both recklessly and drunk are wrong.
Accept it. Learn from it.
“Jackass star Ryan Dunn was drunk when he crashed his Porsche on a Pennsylvania highway while going as fast as 140 mph, according to police.” – People Magazine
What a loser. I’m happy he didn’t murder any innocent drivers or pedestrians with his stupid behavior.
How about a little shout out for the passenger? It’s almost as if only Ryan Dunn’s death was of importance and the fact of the passing of his passenger is incidental and barely worth mentioning. I’m sure there must have been someone who will miss them as well. My condolences to the family and/or friends of his poor unnamed and unsung passenger, you will be greatly missed by those who loved you as well.
My thoughts exactly.
“31,000 viewers for its Tuesday premiere”.
RIP Ryan..thanks for all the laughs.
Emma,
You sound like an asshole. Maybe think before you write. Especially since he just passed and some of his friends are reading about him because they’re in shock; they miss him. So, maybe wait before you mouth off about shit you don’t know.
What would Dana White have done in this situation?
(They should be celebrating Ryan’s life and talent.)
RIP Ryan and to the passenger also. You will be missed Ryan,…your craziness on Jackass was not only hilarious but disgusting but kept us coming back for MORE MORE MORE.
That’s why you’re loved so much, not many people can do that kind of humor.
i was 14 years old now i’m almos 25. so i grow up with jackass guys i guess. when i was down, have a realy bad day i watch the jackass show or movies or viva la bam. he was my fav guy. i’m so sad right now. i still hope this is a joke or something. my sympathy goes out the whole jackass crew, his girlfriend and family, special to bam margera. they where best friends and the whole CKY crew. he makes us happy with his stunts and words. i’m gonna miss his smile. he was the greates actor! we love you ryan and we gonna miss you. and ofcourse the same goes to the friend who die with him. Dunn! when i’m gonna be up there i’m gonna bring some stuff so we can do some stupid stunts okay? goodbye till we meet. “I have to be horrible at everything or else it wouldn’t be me.”
I liked Ryan Dunn, watching Jackass he was probably my favorite. But today he died a murderer.
R.I.P. ryan dunn we will all love u and will miss u , hope u keep doin ur crazy stunts in heaven .
rest in peace
Don’t Drink and Drive. It’s a sad day for everyone involved including their friends and families. Ryan’s fans should learn from this avoidable accident.
Emma go die in a hole you scumbag. Karmas a bitch and you’ll get what you deserve. RIP ryan dunn. By far the coolest man that ever lived!
Henry! Dude wtf? some of the family or friends can read this page, so please stop.
Of course it’s unfortunate two people were killed, but what if Dunn had killed more than just himself and his passenger? What if he’d mowed down a cop, or a couple of teens on a date? Drunk driving is murder. It’s not shocking. When you get behind the wheel drunk, you’re saying f*** you to every other person on the road, sidewalk etc. It’s like randomly shooting a gun in a crowd of people. There’s nothing cool about it or the people who do it. Drunk driving is an incredibly selfish act.
RIP, Ryan and unnamed passenger.
It’s truly unfortunate, but this is the culmination of surviving 10 years of bad decisions that seemed like good ideas when made. Fortunately, this stunt wasn’t recorded.
instead of talking shit about his death and how stupid it was of him to drive drunk if thats even the case celebrate his life cause i know if anyone ones best friend brother or father or any family member at that died in the way he did they wouldnt say shit o wait everyone forgot that its a human being and thats someone kids to not just a tv personality so have compassion cause you never know same thing could happen to someone in your family and no one thinks about that.
Seriously people defending Dunn are idiots, yeah he was funny but dude even if he wasn’t drunk he was flying like 80 mph over the speed limit. Dunns actions killed another human being, he shouldn’t be givin a pass because we liked his character and comedy. Dude was acting like a 18 year old, call a cab with all your money and be smart. This is what happens when you act big, you eventually see your nothing. Rip Ryan
fuck all you guys that are trying to say he’s a bad person because he made some mastake’s he’s was only human and humans do make mastakes there not perfect so fuck ya rip ryan dunn and drunk buddy
I reserve my sympathy for the millions who have died (and continue to die) because of selfish drunk drivers.
How about the OTHER passenger
