Months ago, Relativity Media released a teaser trailer for Immortals, the big-budget Tarsem Singh-directed pic that stars Henry Cavill, who subsequently was chosen by Warner Bros, Zack Snyder and Chris Nolan to be Superman in Man of Steel. Deadline’s comment contingent beat up on that teaser pretty good. Now, Relativity has generated the full trailer for a film that’ll be released Nov. 11. Is it any better?

I saw this movie once…I think it was called 300 – it sucked, this looks worse.
I think it’s unfair to suggest it’s just ripping off 300 — there were also several scenes ripped off from LOTR.
Troy, too.
I enjoyed 300 amd i am certainly going to see this one!
Agreed! Singh’s take on things mixed with the 300-like visuals should be good.
Everyone has an opinion and that’s the way it should it’s either you like it or you don’t. But for my self I see outside the box, sometimes you have take a little of the old to create one of new. This will do ok in theatres but it’s what is coming next from this creative camp that will blow everyone away. ACTION 1
Or you can take all of the old to create one of new… except I don’t think there’s much new to doing that. But good for you, for thinking so far outside the box of creativity.
There is a big dif between what Rourke is doing and what Cavill does. Rourke says his lines without fidgeting or blinking for maximum tough guy effect. Cavill blinks nervously before he leaps off a rock, before the lets go of the arrow; is he supposed to be some jittery wimp at the start of the movie? Acting wise it looks either the rehearsal take or amateur actors.
Still Tarsim makes beautiful looking films from badly plotted scripts; The Fall could have been a charmer it they’d given the script a lighter touch.
And just a tad of The Chronicles of Riddick.
Shouldn’t this just be called 301?
or maybe should be called……
299??
it’s just so… pokey. Chock full of chestnuts, it sends itself up without even trying.
It’s a l1ttle better. It looks like a carbon copy trailer of 300, and CLASH OF THE TITANS sans Liam Neeson, monster dragons, and flying horses.
looks like a HBO series rather than an action epic worthy of the large screen. Poor graphics all over the trailer, sucks
NO!
Looks cool!
Still too much Henry Cavill speaking.
lol. This!
More yelping than speaking; poor kid looks like a deer in the headlights. Hope he can hold the screen better as Spidey.
The hallway battle sequence looks extremely fake; guys waving around swords and obviously not hitting anything.
Superman, not Spiderman
Love all of Tarsem’s previous films—this looks to be right on par. The visuals look pretty bad ass. Can’t wait!
It is 1000x better. I love the teaser, but this one looks so damn amazing. Henry Cavill is the best. I seriously can’t wait!
Do you work for the studio? Did you actually watch this POS? It’ll have a decent opening weekend due to being in November – but will be out of theatres and On Demand by Valentine’s Day.
I agree with you about it having a decent opening weekend, but it may continue to do well throughout Thanksgiving weekend and maybe into December until Sherlock Holmes and MI/Ghost Protocol hit theaters. With all the awards contenders coming out, and the tween girl, squeal-fest, that is Twilight coming out that month, the male demographic aged 12-24 will be desparate for something…..and this is it.
you ‘seriously can’t wait.’ Go back to martha vineyard and wait for your trust fund darling you’ll never be promoted from assistant
Better than the teaser, but still looks cheap.
I was at the Wondercon panel for this and it definitely won me over – Tarsem is the man!
Yes, it’s a cheap green screen epic, like 300…but I might go see, because Tarsem actually has visual imagination. See The Fall, etc.
If everyone who saw THE FALL sees this movie, it might gross $25.
I saw THE FALL. Cute idea on how to write a story, but it didn’t work. A 5 year old cannot write a feature film, and you cannot just shoot all over the world because the commercials you were hired to shoot paid for your crew to get there. Overall the concept of THE FALL and how it was made was great… the story and the effects, lame. Sorry Tarsem, I’m looking forward to seeing something by you that doesn’t rely heavily on effects, but on a good story instead.
Why does he repeats himself so much? The only difference of this new trailer is that has more violence.
not only am i worried about this film but now i’m worried about the new superman
Yep. The Cavill pick was always mystifying to me. There was ample evidence of his poor abilities even before this latest example.
Oh my god… what is happening to the movies today.. pure crap…
mickey
why is this crap? It’s popcorn entertainment. My concern is about what is happening to our illustrators. If you are the guy that comes up on google Mr. Paraskevas your work sucks. I guess your lazy, tired looking work cuts it your world. But to me it seems as though all those budget cuts to the arts are starting to hit home.
First off, this trailer looks pretty bad ass to me. It’s sad that if anything is stylized, it’s automatically comped to 300. *sigh*
Regardless, I’m a fan of Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke AND Frieda Pinto. I can’t wait to see it.
I miss Brandon Routh…
Why would a fantastic, visionary director like Singh create something that looked boring even back in 2006 when it was called 300?
Looks like a web series.
Hot trailer isn’t so hot… I’m not going to be among the first to see this rehash of many movies before it. DG
I am not gonna pour hateraid but am not going to be rainbow shiny either:
1. This trailer is an improvement to the uhm not good teaser trailer.
2. You guys luckily studio fixed the 3 arrow 4 dead blatant oopsie of the teaser trailer. Good fix
3. The battle speech combined with the sword-shield percussion thingy at the end..LOL…really funny.? But I don’t think you guys were aiming for that to be laugh inducing.
4. Happy to see that you guys added some cool fight scenes, the one that starts at 1:14 is cool.
Just like with 300 it’s painfully obvious this one was shot in front of a greenscreen only. I miss the days when you actually shot epics out on location.
But Tarsem’s The Fall was tremendously beautiful, which made up for its weak story, so I’m hopeful he can pull it of again with this one.
I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop up and tell me I’d been punk’d. This trailer is awful and I don’t understand why they keep bragging about the $120+ million they spent to make a film that looks this bad.
Could be cool. Will all depend on the script but, so far, I’m there.
