Michelle Obama is taking her “Joining Forces” military family initiative to Hollywood, finalizing plans to meet with AFTRA, the DGA, the PGA, SAG and the WGA on June 13 at the Writers Guild Theatre in Los Angeles, the White House said today. The organizations have formed a Joining Forces Inter-Guild Task Force to provide support for the program. The meeting is designed to discuss the stories and issues surrounding military families so their experiences can be integrated into film, TV and digital media.

I did see it, but it was an empty theater…now that was a joke, on me. I can’t believe I paid money to see that POS.
On the face of it, it sounds like a worthy idea….to honor the military. But, I must ask, when was the last time any of these guilds spent any of their money to “host” a conservative, whatever the topic might be?
The guilds are leftist. Why try to deny it or dismiss it? There’s nothing to be ashamed of. Of course, those guild members who do not share that political philosophy just might question their dues money being spent in that manner.
I’m a member of the PGA and I joined knowing it’s leftist but this is the first time in my memory that dues may be spent for other things besides producer-related doings, golf tournaments and award shows.
Seems to me we already have enough “mission creep” in everything else that goes on politically, no?
Well, conservatives suck across the board, first of all. And they’re always against Hollywood. ALWAYS. If I were a show-business guild, I wouldn’t give SHIT to conservatives.

It’s a pleasure to see the guilds involving themselves in politics directly. Hollywood talent has always made large political contributions, but because studios and executives usually led organizationally on this front, the money has effectively been channeled into advocating the studios’ point of view. Hopefully, with the guilds taking a more assertive political stance, some of the money will be rerouted towards positions benefiting the middle class Hollywood joe.
No, it’s a way for hollywood fundraisers to start turning the screws as the O campaign wants 60million by the end of the month!

So the gov marketing team figured out it’s best to backdoor propaganda films like this? Sounds like they want stories to tug on everyone’s heartstrings to convince us we create wars out of more than sheer greed and insecurity.
Does she eventually meet with military families to hear actual stories or is this just a mutual smoke screen so we all think they actually care? Also, how much money will be stolen from members to help create and maintain the Joining Forces Inter-Guild Task Force?
I doubt Mrs. O meets with any military families except on rare occasions. They only acknowledge the military when it’s to their advantage. They’re useful for photo ops in order to make it appear as if the military really like their CIC. Ironically, their concern doesn’t extend to counting the military’s mail-in ballots during election. Also, when the military are ordered to hold fire until the enemy fires first gives one pause as to their concern. As far as Hollywood, they’d probably manipulate, exaggerate, distort, and twist the “stories” to put the military in a bad light. Many of them are for demonizing and depicting our military as ruthless, violent, inhumane killing machines while being ridiculously sympathetic toward those who would like to wipe this country off the face of the earth. The families should pass on giving any stories because they won’t recognize them after Hollywood gets done butchering their words.
Hollywood always gets a “bad rap” . They are the most generous industry—-I would certainly rather have lunch with a brilliant J.J. Abrams for example, then any of our U.S. Senators or Congressman. I appaud the efforts of The First Lady–she is a class act.Do they have human issues-certainly,but the damage done by just one Congressman,for example can destroy lifes. Movie Pitch: A feature film about a Transgender Soldier who joins the Army after the repeal of DADT. It’s sent to Afghanistan, where it finds Love, only to get captured by the Taliban and beheaded…but MSM ignores the story so as not to offend Muslims.
I am a supporter of the Obamas and our military, but the whole notion of the military as being underpaid and unappreciated is a bit out of whack. They make plenty of money and receive great benefits and support. We shouldn’t make them out to be people in need of charity and donations.
The so-called “liberals” in HOLLYWOOD seem to make a lot of money off of pro-war movies. But whether Democrat or Republican, its all an illusion. HOLLYWOOD and the world media serve the corporate establishment, providing the mind controlled propaganda that keeps the masses “entertained” -keeps them dumb.
