Much like the Academy Awards, the MTV Movie Awards tonight opened with a montage featuring host Jason Sudeikis weaved into scenes from recent Oscar contenders The Social Network, Black Swan and 127 Hours. The skit’s main story was a spoof of blockbuster comedy Hangover starring Sudeikis, Twilight star Taylor Lautner, Eva Mendes, Chelsea Handler and Hangover co-star Justin Bartha. The comparisons to the Oscars ended right there, as the MTV Movie Awards stuck to their usual raunchy, expletive-laden tone and their lineup of categories like Best Scared-As-S**t Performance, which, like almost every other one, was won by the latest Twilight movie. Here is the Hangover-inspired intro:

I can’t wait for this ” Twilight ” ( and the creepy “Twilight ” fans ) mess to go away . And I am beyond tired of Hollyweird trying to make, non-actors, Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson into movie stars. These two individuals have no charisma , and they always seem like they are on life support.
Amen !! Tweens rule the vote – even though the over 50 crowd rule the pocket book – but they’re too smart to go to the theatre (with the noise, sticky floors and high prices) so they stay home and wait for the streaming video or dvd rental. But the studios think that what they are putting out is loved by all. Nope, just the tweens.
Come on. Hollywood has been promoting crappy talent for years. Look at Chelsea Handler in the skit. (Wow, she looks old. No way is she 36. It’s strange that she’s in this video since she sucked as VMA host.) She’s completely untalented. All she does is brag about how much she’s drinking and getting reamed by guys. When she deviates from that lame shtick, she launches into personal attacks on other people, especially their ethnicity and race. Hey, she even said that she dislikes minorities and tries to make fun of them as much as possible — she’s basically a more famous version of Alexandra Wallace. Everybody knows she got where she is because of nepotism, i.e. she started dating her boss in 2006 and then received a late night TV show in 2007. Now she’s everywhere.
Not all Twilight fans are “creepy”. I read all of the books before the movies came out. I don’t squeal every time someone takes their shirt off or want my husband to be like Edward. Some of the Twilight girls are very creepy and sad… it upsets me that they’ve given the real fans of the films such a bad name.
Remember when they would actually film the sketches to look like the films they were aping? I miss those days.
They forgot to put the jokes in.
it was basically an infomerical for Viacom.
JJ Abrams and Spielberg ruined for me when they showed up to plug their lame Super 8 movie…
I like how they spoofed something that wasn’t even funny in the first place and made it even less funny.
Even as the silly excuse for advertising that it is, this year’s show was particularly awful. At least Reese had some fun.
Seriously you must be truly pathetic to spend all your time voting online for this thing…and Twilight won everything…wait it all makes sense now!
Anyone else seriously concerned that Taylor Lautner may have a future in entertainment despite the fact that he really can’t act? this kind of thing keeps me up at night
This show has gotten so bad – the spoofs are usually so spot on and hilarious…think about the ones from Ben Stiller, Jimmy Fallon – even that year some user generated spoof won an award, that mixed 300 with United 93 – all SO much better than that crappy hangover spoof on this year’s twilight awards… Burnett needs to do something exciting again, and quit phoning it in.
Ouch…that was so bad it actually physically hurt to watch it. New rule: Unless it’s starring Billy Crystal and it’s the Oscars, there shall be no more film parodies opening an award show.
LAME. although i suppose i should say thanks to MTV for making the Oscars looks like Shakespeare by comparison.
Absolutely excruciating, even Emma Watson could not conceal her disgust at the Twihards, and my teen son thought it was LAME; by the end of the show, VOWED never to watch Teen Wolf!!
Wow… That’s some REALLY BAD “acting” and writing going on here. And these are supposed to be professionals? WTF. If I was born yesterday and didn’t know anything, I might think this was awesome.
@ Thomas. Absolutely right. Remember Titani? Now THAT was funny.
Jason Sudeikis gives off that “funniest guy in Beta Theti Pi” fraternity vibe. Ughhh. It’s rare that someone transitions from SNL STRAIGHT into lame comedies. Usually they attempt to swing for the fences and then quietly resign themselves to being in knock-off Adam Sandler films, or, if they’re lucky, the “friend” in an Adam Sandler film.
Roflmao at the first 10 mins of the show. Loved the raunchy humor and balls out spoofs. Yes, the kiddie vampire movie won awards… excuse RP won awards.
And why do have to hate on something, take some time and find some positive things to say about stuff you like.
@fifty
Shakespeare, really, try reading more than the cliff notes .
Jason plays the bufoon as a host. Shakespeare on tv. Gi back to flipping burgers
