EXCLUSIVE: USA Network has cast Jennifer Finnigan as the female lead in its pilot Wild Card, lifting the contingency on the project. The Fox TV Studios-produced project is about people behaving badly at night in Las Vegas and two very different lawyers, Will Garratt (Ben Lawson) and Eliza Evans (Finnigan), who solve their problems before morning. Finnigan co-starred on ABC’s sitcom Better With You last season. Edi Gathegi already had been cast as the duo’s resourceful investigator. Stephen Godchaux wrote the pilot and is executive producing with Cary Brokaw. With the contingency lifted, Wild Card joins the other USA pilots Over/Under, which has not yet been shot, and Common Law and Eden, which have been shot.

Maybe Ms. Finnigan will finally have a series that makes the most of her considerable talent.
Wasn’t there a show a few years ago with a female lead called Wild Card? With Joely Fisher?
this girl keeps working. i am not mad, at all. actors, take note!
Let’s assume the people are behaving badly in Las Vegas well into the night…as Vegas is a late night place. Then, these two different lawyers solve their problems before morning.
This is roughly 2:00AM at night and the problem is solved by 8:00AM in the morning…or 12:00AM until 6:00AM…and so on.
I guess they are calling the show “6″….and, this will be a tough show if much is shot at night….long days for the crew. Of course, they may just shoot it all in front of a green screen in Valencia.
The odds are not looking good for Jennifer if the show description is slightly accurate.
Uh, “The Defenders” anyone?
Maybe she can bring back her fellow USA star Anthony Michael Hall to guest on her show, they had great chemistry when she guested on his show, USA’s “The Dead Zone”…..would love to see them together again.
With all of the out of work actresses, how this lady keeps getting work is beyond me. Close to Home sucked, the sitcom she was just in sucked and I’m sure the next one will suck.
Good to see someone addressing the underserved segment of dual lawyer shows.
There are not enough law shows on tv period, let alone ones that feature two laywers. Good on them to filling this need.
I love Enver Gjokaj so I’m keeping fingers crossed for Eden!
Whats with all the legal/lawyer dramas appearing on USA lately? Suits has been ok so far, I can sit through a whole episode and be somewhat entertained. Not so much for Fairly Legal even though Sara Shahi is a cute face to look at. Do we really need a third similar series on the same network or is USA running out of ideas for shows.
I’ll pass on another lawyer comedy. Blehh!
