That was quick. A day after her deal with ABC was announced, Katie Couric was on Jimmy Kimmel’s primetime special tonight promoting the paperback release of her latest book, The Best Advice I Ever Got. For the past 5 years, while she anchored the CBS Evening News, Couric was a frequent guest of that network’s late-night host, David Letterman, including her recent visit on his show to promote the hardcover release of the same book. On Kimmel’s pre-game show, Couric unveiled a promo for a new reality series she is doing for ABC, Katie Plus 80. Here is the video:
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

I happenned upon Katie Couric’s little bit on Jimmy Kimmel last night and thought it was offensive and pathetic. I could not imagine Diane Sawyer doing anything of this sort, which says something right there about Couric as a journalist, she was completely out of her league in the news business. And Couric is NOT funny. Her attempt at comedy was pathetic, offensive and weird. ABC has made a major mistake banking on Couric. She should retire from television with some shred of dignity intact and undo this deal with ABC.
She wore out her welcome at NBC, bombed at CBS and now lands on ABC. Next year, after her daytime blather-fest gets cancelled, she will ink a $30 million deal with Fox.
Does this woman have an incriminating cache of photos showing network bigs in compromising conditions? There is no other explanation.
Seriously, she must have something!
The same should be said about Kate Gosselin
