UPDATE PM: With the final ratings in, Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final drew 8.54 million viewers to become the most watched NHL game in 38 years. It was up 3% from last year’s deciding Game 6 and up 7% from 2009′s Game 7.
PREVIOUS AM: Hockey and dance were the choices for original programming last night. NBC is poised to win Wednesday in adults 18-49 and total viewers with Game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final. In not-time-zone-adjusted fast nationals, the decider won by the Boston Bruins drew a 3.2/9 in 18-49 and 8.1 total million viewers for the primetime portion of the game, with the numbers expected to rise in the finals. The Bruins-Vancouver Canucks faceoff is on track to outpace the previous Stanley Cup Game 7 in 2009, which posted a 3.0 fast national demo rating, which was adjusted up to 3.4 in the finals.
Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance (2.6/8 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers) was down 7% from last Wednesday’s Hollywood round and up 4% from the Thursday Meet the Top 20 episode. Fox finished the night second in both 18-49 and total viewers. ABC and CBS aired all reruns.

Canucks felt entitled. Bruins went blue collar. The rest, as they say, is history. Congrats to Coach Julien and Beantown.
Canucks just gave up and ran out of gas and then the rioting afterwards up there by their fans was just classless. Congrats to the Bruins!
… and ALL the cable news networks won, broadcasting live footage of Vancouver tearing itself apart after the game.
So much for that old cliche about Canadians being laid-back and polite, eh? Well, that October Crisis was no picnic, either…
The last time Vancouver lost the Stanley Cup they had a riot so this is sort of a tradition. Lord only knows what would happen if they ever won it!!
This is great for hockey! Boston and Vancouver are huge markets. Game 7s are great for every sport.
I will prefer So You Think You Can Dance any day to stanley cup final.I dont agree with TRP Ratings.
