UPDATE, 1 PM: AMC’s The Killing closed out its freshman season with 2.3 million viewers tuning in for the finale last night. That was up from the two most recent episodes, which averaged 2 million and 1.8 million, respectively, but down from the series’ premiere, which drew 2.7 million. The critically praised mystery drama was renewed for a second season last week.

PREVIOUS: Lifetime’s comedic drama Drop Dead Diva opened its third season with 2.9 million viewers last night, down slightly from the 3.1 million viewership average for its second-season debut. In both adults 18-49 (1.3 million) and adults 25-54 (1.6 million), this was the show’s most-watched season premiere. In 25-54, it was up 7% from the Season 2 debut.
