Last night’s premiere of ABC’s newest drama Switched At Birth broke the network’s ratings records for a series debut in total viewers and all key demos. It drew 3.3 million viewers and 1.0 million/1.5 rating in adults 18-34 at 9 PM. (The show, about two teen girls who were accidentally switched at birth, also posted new premiere records in women 18-34, adults and women 18-49). Switched At Birth outpaced ABC Family’s previous record holders, the debuts of The Secret Life of the American Teenager in total viewers (2.8 million) and Pretty Little Liars in adults 18-34 (837,000) and women 18-34. Switched at Birth‘s total premiere night audience for the 9 PM and 10 PM airings was 4.9 million. Switched at Birth is the first of 4 new series ABC Family will unspool this summer, along with Chloe, The Lying Game and State of Georgia.

I am definitely gonna watch it know. I was waiting for the ratings to see if it will do good.
it was really good
Steve Miner crushes another one for ABC Family! 3 for 3 now, I think…
it was so freaking good! really strong cast and i think whomever cast this did a phenomenal job! Kudos
Vanessa Marano is a great young actress
The pilot was terrific. Unexpected plot turns and LOTS of conflict.
Ticks me off. I was intrigued just by the title and premise. This is exactly the type of show The CW needs to cultivate, a compelling idea (who couldn’t relate?) and a good cast…something both the kids and adults will watch.
Let’s hope the new CW prez moves things in the right direction. ABC Family seems to have the right ideas.
Looking forward to seeing the actors grow. Right now it’s coming off as a little Disney-ish perfect world – where the local street tough look like they walked out of a Ralph Lauren shoot. However the acting is decent and the kids have lots of room to grow. I would like so see the adults act a little more like real people, but that’s probably the writing. There is some real in born drama in the script too; lets see if the show can do it justice. Nothing against the actors, but I bet the show lists into happy “TV Family” problems instead of dealing with class struggle and race relations as promised in the first episode. That being said its good to see some fellow Spanish people on a major network. Here’s hoping.
nanana i love this
