EXCLUSIVE: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Summer Glau has signed with UTA. She was with WME. Glau has developed a big following among sci-fi fans with her roles on the Joss Whedon series Firefly and Dollhouse, big-screen Firefly offshoot Serenity and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. She most recently starred on NBC’s comic book-themed drama The Cape. A Comic-Con fixture, Glau is expected to have a presence at the convention again this year with her upcoming indie movie Knights of Badassdom. Glau continues to be represented by manager Mimi Ditrani at The Schiff Co.

Glau – the destroyer of shows
Awww, that’s not nice. Tell everyone about your career…
Glau is awesome… two of the best Sci-Fi shows ever (Firefly and Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles) just had the bad luck of being on Fox. The Cape was an alright show which showed promise but it’s writing was god awful at times. Once again not her fault.
Nice trolling, by the way. Just had to set the record straight. Believe what you will, but Summer Glau is a highly skilled actress.
Agreed. I really like Glau, but The Cape was just a god-awful mess.
@Pol- Dude, is that a joke? There was only one thing that Summer was in that sucked and that was Mammoth. Of course it wasn’t her fault it was the writers of the show. The story line made no sense to me.
Anyway, Summer Glau is a great person on and off camera. She is a great actor and an amazing dancer. All of her roles were great. I think her best one, though, was playing Cameron/Allison in TSCC. Why? Because it was also her hardest role and she pulled it off perfectly. She is the only actor/actress who has 100% of my respect. She is also the only one that I like, who hasn’t done anything stupid. Well, her and Ice Cube.
Yes, “Are We There Yet?” was a cinematic masterpiece.
Hurray for Summer Glau!! The woman has smarts, acting range to kill, and charm!
UTA continues to roll while WME keeps losing clients. Why?
sounds like a kevin volchok or brittany balbo posting to me!
what’s a brittany balbo?
UTA signs this girl and hires a couple guys who got demoted at ICM and you call that rolling? They’re like Paradigm at this point.
UTA signs Summer Glau (wait, who?) and WME signs The Rock.
UTA has lost half a dozen people to CAA in the past month. They’re rolling all right….all the way to the bottom.
Pol:
Summer Glau is not a destroyer of shows. It’s Coincidence – she’s a spectacular actress.
UTA is over rated. She’ll be in B movies nobody will see.
who’s giving them credit in the first place?
What do the acronyms mean – UTA, WME, CAA?
Summer Glau is supertacular. Hope to see her soon on the small or big screen as The Lead.
Her next film “Knights of Badassdom” will have a panel at San Diego Comic Con next week.
Release date is Spring 2012 according to fansite Summer Glau Wiki.
Summer Glau’s resume is typical of that of many television actors who have to pay their dues as cast members of shows that don’t last much past the pilot until finally they are cast on a hit show that lasts seven seasons, pulls big numbers and goes into syndication or other aftermarket. So this “show killer” curse is a myth. By that logic, EVERY actor is a jinx.
Forget the irrelevant Nielsens, because they are out of touch with realities such as Hulu, TiVo, torrents, and recording which killed the Sarah Connor Chronicles.
I apologize for using the word typical in the same breath as Summer Glau. I agree with many here that she is a great person and a talented actress. Impressive in interviews and live appearances. A sweet person.
