Deadline Comic-Con TV correspondent Gary Hodges files:
Executive producer of Family Guy (FOX) Mark Hentemann introduced a compilation of clips from upcoming episodes, leading with Quagmire making a special trip to the Griffin home to wish Meg a happy 18th birthday – cut to scenes of him flirting, tickling her, making innuendos. (“Look at Quagmire hitting on that skank!” Peter laughs from across the room.)
Later we saw Peter and the rest of the boys deciding to get away for a guys’ trip, and quickly finding themselves in parodies of Deliverance and being arrested for talking down to a small town police officer. (Peter: “I knew we were in trouble when I saw the jury,” cutting to them in court, the jurors all Simpsons characters.) The clips ended with Lois inviting Peter to join her all-women book club, and Peter promptly breaking his own neck to get out of it.
Afterward, executive producer Steve Callaghan came out with much of the voice cast (Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Patrick Warbarton, Mike Henry), including – unexpectedly – Seth MacFarlane himself. The exact opposite of most other panels so far, the Family Guy crew was quick to mention a handful of things we can expect to see in future episodes. (No “You’ll just have to wait and see!” here):
Guest appearances by Ricky Gervais, Cate Blanchett, Ryan Reynolds, and Anna Kendrick
Stewie and Brian will time travel back to the pilot episode, “bad animation and all” (MacFarlane).
There will be another “viewer mail episode.”
Someone tries to kill Chris, and Stewie runs away to live with worst maid ever, Consuela.
Joe arrests Peter and Quagmire for burning down a pharmacy, and Quagmire gets raped in prison.
Alex Borstein chirped: “Lois is going to kidnap someone… she kidnaps a kid, on purpose.”
MacFarlane also said there will be a Family Guy movie. “We’ve actually had meetings about it, which makes it real,” but explained that the challenge is trying to put it together while running a series at the same time.
Much of the time was spent toying with the sign language interpreter in the room, after MacFarlane said “shit” and Borstein wanted to see how that was signed. “There’s a cunnilingus episode coming up,” MacFarlane quipped, watching the interpreter carefully. This led, ironically, to an
attendee’s request for any jokes the censors didn’t allow on the show; the panel admitted there were actually very few, though FOX censors did object to one scene where Peter, who ate a pile of nickels, went to the bathroom – the sound “like a slot machine” was deemed too far.

So 2 years have actually passed over the course of the series?Judging by how long Bonnie was pregnant(from her debut in 1999 until giving birth in 2009), I kinda thought it didn’t.
Now that I think about it, this will actually be Meg’s third onscreen birthday. She turned 16 during an episode in 1999, 17 in 2007 and now she’s turning 18.
Cate Blanchett, Really? That kind of makes me feel ill.
LOL!
Ditto.
Consuela rules. “No, I stay”.
The most over-rated show on TV…
It reminds me of that one time when I played on a bowling team with Scott Baio (CU stupid flashback)…
Jack if you don’t like family guy why post? Love it. Will miss it when it’s gone. My husband and I have watched I think almost every episode at least thrice and still laugh.
A couple things:
So nobody’s allowed to post, unless they “love” something? Have you ever been to this site before?
You and your hubby have watched every episode THREE TIMES? Seek help.
If you don’t understand why Family Guy is drivel, watch South Park’s Cartoon Wars and enjoy the well-deserved skewering. Family Guy is a cheap knock-off of the Simpsons with one lame gag-joke after another. It’s also terrible animation, resulting in one big fat lazy affair.
Which is probably why America loves it.
Family Guy always was, is, and will be better than South Park. South Park has THE worst animation and its not even really entertaining. Family Guy on the other hand is interested and you always hate commercials when watching Family Guy but not so much when watching South Park
I agree with Jack. The show is overrated. And to watch every episode three times a piece? That’s crazy.
my twentysomething daughter tuned me in to family guy and it keeps me laughing even when i’m not watching!
You watch every episode 3 times? I can’t chat though, I’ve seen them all a lot more than that! People may disagree with may when I say this, but Family Guy keeps me entertained when I’m bored. I have all the annuals, the DVD’s, the t-shirts and even the Monopoly board game. Yeah I’m obsessed, what of it? It’s my choice if I choose to put all my free time into Family Guy!
Family Guy is one laugh riot after another.
South Park will never be able to come close to the charm and humor of Family Guy.
I hope it stays on the air for many years to come.
*Family Guy – The best animated series on TV.
*South Park – Alright. It’s not a bad show and it can be pretty funny at times. But there are also many other times where the show is downright stupid and just plain offensive. Never had that problem with FG. While FG also makes offensive jokes, it doesn’t go overboard with the jokes and at least they’re trying to make people laugh. With SP, they go WAY too far sometimes and they are purposely trying to be just plain offensive because they know they can get away with it. SP can be funny by FG is a much more funnier and humorous show and Seth MacFarlane has a better sense of humor then Trey Parker and Matt Stone. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut was fucking hilarious though!
*The Simpsons – Good show, but gone a bit downhill in recent years.
*American Dad! – Hilarious. Another one of my favorite show. Seth MacFarlane is just the master at animation.
*The Cleveland Show – So-so. It’s not that good or even funny, but there has been a couple of really good and funny episodes. MacFarlane’s weakest show.
*Bob’s Burgers – Sucks. Other then a couple of episodes that were actually funny, BB sucks.
*Beavis and Butt-head – AWESOME! Mike Judge’s best show.
*King of the Hill – Alright. Being a cartoon, it’s not really that cartoonish so that’s the main thing that annoys me about KotH. Other then that, not that bad.
*Aqua Teen Hunger Force – Funny!
*Robot Chicken – So-so. The sketches are either funny, or so poorly written and stupid.
