We’re not really sure where The Hollywood Reporter got its information this morning when it reported and sent out an email alert that ABC’s Barbara Walters “has landed the first sit-down with Casey Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez,” especially when Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera sat with the guy for 20 minutes in a restaurant outside the Orlando courthouse soon after Baez’s client was acquitted in the death of her daughter (the interview — photo at right — aired on Fox News yesterday afternoon). The murder case, which had a nation holding its breath and cable news networks reaping the rewards of higher viewership, has created a media frenzy, but it would be nice if the reports it generates were fact-based. Even ABC’s release didn’t go so far as to say Walters’ interview was “first”; instead, they called it Baez’s “first network interview.” Well, “broadcast network” would have been clearer, we suppose. Portions of Walters’ interview will be shown tonight on World News With Diane Sawyer and on Casey Anthony: Not Guilty, a Primetime Nightline special, at 10 PM, as well as Thursday on Good Morning America and The View.

They need to let this go, and stop talking about it. A narcissist has ruined her families life and gotten away with murder. I will not watch or listen to another word about this travesty. I hope no one else will either. ( I bet Susan Smith is hitting herself now…why didn’t I continue to lie? They would have doubted a mother could do this! )

I’m in the minority, but I don’t think Casey is guilty of first degree murder. The prosecutor set the bar too high without solid proof which is essential in a death penalty case. If convicted, the case would’ve been appealed and the ruling overturned because the evidence was not there. If it hadn’t been a death penalty case, maybe the jurors would’ve gone with a lesser guilty verdict. But, the Florida woman coroner was a joke. The retired very-expert and well-respected Detroit area coroner who testified for the defense was correct in saying the autopsy of the little girl was botched. I think it’s suspect that Casey’s father wanted to commit suicide and it’s interesting that the alternate juror who has spoken out also found him not believable – which may be what the other jurors felt as well – they were there in that court room – we weren’t, no matter how good TV coverage can be. I bet something really went wrong and everything was a coverup after that. Casey undoubtedly is a party girl, has a history of bad judgement (who was the baby’s father?) and makes up stories, but there are probably many other factors involved that we will never know, but the proof that she committed the murder is not there, no matter how that noisy, self-righteous Nancy Grace thinks it is. The really unfortunate things are a little girl is dead, killed by Lord knows and more so that HLN’s ratings went up – we’re stuck with Grace… who has none.
I agree. I came to this site to get “entertainment” news. Geez.
I will never spend any more time or money dealing with Casey Anthony. Shame on any producer who wants to tell her story.
Instead of capitalizing on this tragedy, I hope that Hollywood ignores her, but I doubt that will happen.

I don’t think many consider Fox News a legitimate source of news or consider Geraldo Rivera a real interviewer, this is more like TMZ catching up with someone outside of LAX.

There was a recent poll that showed that a LARGE MAJORITY of people believe Fox News is the most honest news network. And they get the highest ratings! All the time! Wake up, moron!

And as for those ratings, well Transformers #3 just grossed $300M so there’s no accounting for the tastes of the masses.

Well the Hollywood Reporter keeps saying that the Wimbledon Finals weren’t live on NBC this weekend which wasn’t true. The publication doesn’t seem to get its facts right.
I will not watch this interview. I will not allow my time, effort or money to enable Barbara Walters, ABC, the show or its sponsors to profit by the murder of Caylee Marie Anthony. I will now allow my time, effort or money to enable Casey Anthony, her family, or anyone associated with her acquittal to profit further by the murder of Caylee Marie Anthony. In this way I will honor Caylee’s memory, as Walters, Baez, ABC, and the entire Anthony family have failed to do.
RIP, Caylee. YOU were NOT garbage. These people are.

Even the Nancy Graces out there who had convicted her of murder from day one were, at the very same time, creating/perpetuating/serving the very idea of “celeb-ifying” her.
And one more thing. There was not ONE SHRED OF PHYSICAL EVIDENCE linking Casey Anthony to her daughter’s murder, mainly because it was impossible to determine cause of death on the body. I’m not saying she didn’t do it, but the verdict makes sense. If the American judicial system was built on convicting people based on pure circumstance, we’d be fucked beyond belief.
No cause of death? Really? What do you call three strips of duct tape across the mouth and nose of a dead girl in a swamp? A fashion accessory?

12 jurors agree with you. Just don’t get how she can lie about her daughter missing for 31 days and why is the body in her car and if they were so confident that she was innocent why didn’t she testify. If she’s guilty of nothing else it would be lack of sympathy for her daughter
Headline news actually beat fox because of this case
Can’t the “Bread and Circuses’s” Mentality give it a rest when it comes to stuff like this?
The phrase is not:
“The proof is in the pudding.”
It is, properly:
“The proof of the pudding is in the eating.”
Which means that the TRUTH or QUALITY of something/someone can only be judged when it’s put to use…RESULTS are what count.
Maybe this woman was put in a position to lie to the authorities. Partially through misplaced fear, partially through the actions of people other than herself. It’s very possible, considering her happy pill-popping, alcoholic big bottom-feeding friends. But when you lie, then smear someone else to cover up the lie (someone gave someone BAD ADVICE, right?) it tends one to believe you don’t want to take RESPONSIBILITY at all for ANYTHING you’ve done, ever.

I would be suprised if Geraldo Rivera wasn’t his first interviewer.
He has been on their side thru out the whole trial.
I didn’t follow the case much but when I did see something on it
I thought If I was the defense attorney the first person I would interview with would be him.
Nancy had the ratings but Geradlo sounds like he got the Baez.
What I wonder is what set this trial apart from other horrible murders that go on every day.

Keep up. Tape over one’s mouth proves nothing: it could have been put there after death – if “asphyxiation” was the cause, then the tape might have been considered. But there was no scientific proof of cause of death.
Enough of these people. Cheney Mason, in particular, sticking his middle finger at the media. What a pro and what a nice testimonial he offers a poor dead child. Meanwhile, he and his ilk will profit from the media and their client will become a millionaire.
Lol Fox gets better ratings than CNN. As for as left leaning MSNBC, well they are not a legit news source. Nobody watches because no one takes them serious. MSNBC and HLN are both a rip off of the Jerry Springer show. Not Legit.
Ratings are probably good for FOX in Mayberry or whatever hole you’re writing from, but it doesn’t play in the real world.
