Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm climbed in the ratings in the second week of Season 8. On Sunday, the HBO comedy drew 1.9 million viewers at 10 PM, up 12% from the eighth season premiere the week before to log its most watched episode in more than 7 years, since March 2004. For the 10 PM and 12 AM airings combined, Curb averaged 2.5 million viewers, up 17% from last week. At 9 PM, True Blood (5.1 million, 6.2 million for the night) was up 1% from the week before.

Curb is great larry david is the best at what he does
Truly indicative of the continuing comedy famine that hbo should be excited about 1.9 mil viewers when their dramas are doing 6 mil. CYE is so long in the tooth it’s painful and it’s still head and shoulders above the rest of their comedies.
what? other than true blood… the other dramas do 3 mill or less…
game of thrones did mid 2′s
boardwalk settled in around 3
and the logic that curb’s highest numbers in 7 years somehow represent something bad is ridiculous
maybe you’re thinking of the numbers hbo throws out there when they add up all viewers from reruns all week and on demand
you’re stupidity exists because you think too highly of yourself
been a fun 2 eps so far… can’t wait for them to head for ny
they threw a lot in this last episode
racism and racial profiling
abused wives and a shelter
love of ben and jerry’s
breast reduction
burlesque
dogs and pooping
and leon being too close to larry
Yeah, I still watch Curb, but the truth is it’s old, tired and all played out. The Office continues to get good numbers though the show sucks shit so don’t go arguing the numbers portend quality.. Curb’s numbers may be pretty good, but truthfully the show has been repeating itself like an egg and onion sandwich for about 3 seasons.
HBO has never been able to achieve much success in comedy. They have one groundbreaking hit– Sex and the City; half a hit in Entourage and then a bunch of niche shows of which Curb is probably the most successful. That’s not much in the decade and a half they’ve been churning out original comedies. With drama they can use money and the freedom of premium cable to beat the nets, but in comedy they really haven’t been anything special.
U is KooKoo
Larry is firing on all cylinders
Curb is still as much as fun as it was 8 years ago. Larry’s the man.
HBO never really did comedy besides Curb.. (You really can’t call Hung, Entourage or any similar shows comedies).
The next HBO comedy is Veep…
I’m bored with Curb. Hung is my favorite and East Bound ain’t bad…
CYE takes less than $20,000 to produce each episode while most of the other shows spend hundreds of thousands. I think of it as a success. The comedy remains witty, but it’s not a show to watch every day, it’s better if you just watch a couple of episodes per month.
