You would think Drew Peterson would be flattered to have Rob Lowe portray him on TV. Lawyers for the suspected wife killer have sent Lifetime a cease and desist letter asking them to shut down the TV movie currently in production, which stars Lowe as Peterson. Peterson, who is in prison awaiting trial, has been charged with the death of his third wife after the mysterious disappearance of his fourth wife. The movie, tentative titled The Drew Peterson Story aka Ladykiller, explores the two cases and any possible connections between them. It was written by Teena Booth based on the nonfiction book Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Drew Peterson by Joseph Hosey, a reporter with the Chicago area’s Herald News who has followed the cases closely. In the letter, Peterson’s lawyers call the book “a biased and malicious portrayal” and “a deliberate and calculated assemblage of falsehoods constituting a character assassination.” Lifetime wouldn’t comment on the letter. The network found itself in a similar position earlier this year when lawyers for Amanda Knox demanded that Lifetime kill its upcoming movie about the convicted killer. The network went ahead and aired the film, Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy, as scheduled.

Fuck Drew P. Fortunately, he’s a public figure and they can do what they want. Because he was cop, he knew that it’s virtually impossible to be convicted of murder without a body. Exceedingly rare. So this serial killer gets to murder three wives. I hope this movie taints the jury pool and he gets the needle (and I don’t believe in the death penalty). Or they could put him isolation for 23 hours a day–this is fate worse than execution.
Rob Lowe should get an Emmy for that mustache alone.
should and will
Agreed. That is a kick-ass mustache. Way to go Rob!
Dude, they needed to cast Tim Allen.
He’s Petersen’s dopelganger, I swear. Rob looks like a bad SNL skit in that stache.
As Henny Youngman punch-lined, “…She wouldn’t eat the poisoned mushrooms.” Go Lowe!
Poor Peterson. When making a telefilm about his life, titles that come up…. hmmm… how about “WifeMurderer?” Or… “WifeKiller”… or maybe… “Killer of Wives?” It’s hard to title a story like this: “The Misadventures of Drew.”
not surprised Drew is trying to stop the film for he figures it going to in its own way paint him as the killer of his two wives. in a fictional way. that plus he is not allowed to get paid for the film about him. for odds are a judge is going to throw out drew quest to stop the film from finishing being made.
I’m a little disgusted that Rob Lowe would take on this role. He looks ridiculous in that “costume” and this role is sure to be a career killer. Drew is a publicity whore himself and this is a surefire way to get some.
I’m sorry but I’m blinded by the awesome-ness that is that mustache to even read your dumb comment.
Anybody hear of innocent until proven guilty? even scumbags like drew peterson deserve a fair handshake
We have, and that applies to the court of law, not the court of public opinion. Last time I checked he’s not on trial and we’re not a part of the jury. What about that don’t you understand?
That brostache is AWESOME!!
New low for Lowe. Did he need the money that bad???
Career killer? No way. Lowe is gonna fucking kill it.
USA did it in 2004 for another husband accused of killing only one wife..also,weirdly, last name Peterson–Scott–aired a movie before the trial. Guess what, too bad. Don’t care about this creep and his rights..just like he didn’t care about his wives.. and I’ll be watching!
Everything will be drawn from already published sources & paid for.
NYTimes vs. Sullivan makes Peterson a public figure.
He has no case, this is just his lawyers looking to score some bucks from a guy that can’t pay them anything!
Why is this monster still alive. The movie should have a serial vigilante getting to destroy him as he killed women.
The movie can have a vigilante killing killers.
Lol @ Lowe Patrol.
It’s Lifetime. Since when do facts have to be relevant?
Rob you are the Emmy playing the role of D.p. was an awesome part; the mustache good job man Ur natural player good luck with the Emmy award!
