Be careful what you say — it may come back to bite you … or your Emmy chances. That’s what is happening to Kathy Griffin, who earlier this month nabbed a sixth consecutive Emmy nomination in the outstanding reality category for her Bravo series My Life On the D-List (she won in 2007 and 2008). A self-professed Hoarders fanatic, Griffin regularly talks about her obsession with the A&E reality series during her standup, including in her stand-up specials on Bravo. Now A&E is using some of the praise Griffin has heaped on Hoarders in the docu-series’ Emmy campaign. Hoarders, chronicling the struggles and treatment of people who suffer from compulsive hoarding, received its first Emmy nomination this year and is going against D-List, Discovery’s Deadliest Catch and Mythbusters, PBS’ Antique Roadshow and CBS’ Undercover Boss in the best reality series category. Here are the Hoarders Emmy ad, which A&E is expected to unveil later today, and an eight-minute Hoarders segment from one of Griffin’s stand-up specials.

Pretty clever but Kathy’s comedy always seems a tad out of date. Nobody cares about Bobby and Whitney anymore.
Griffin is overrated she will probably cost that show viewers
Ms. Griffin is overrated, but that doesn’t mean that she’s highly rated.
