The FCC’s Enforcement Bureau has told a chief administrative law judge that Comcast should be forced to carry the Tennis Channel the same way the cabler carries its own Golf Channel and Versus networks, setting up a showdown Wednesday at the FCC in which both groups will argue their cases. Tennis Channel filed a complaint last year saying that the indie was assigned a high channel number on Comcast systems compared with Comcast’s similar sports nets, arguing that Comcast did so to favor its own properties. An agency spokesman said that each side will have 30 minutes to present arguments on the matter before Judge Richard L. Sippel tomorrow; there is no deadline for the judge’s decision, which could include upholding the FCC’s request to fine Comcast $375,000 and force it to move Tennis Channel nearer other sports channels. This is not a new fight for Comcast: It also is dealing with a complaint filed by Bloomberg TV regarding the FCC’s “neighborhood clause,” which says similar channels must be grouped together. Bloomberg says Comcast is favoring its NBCUniversal property CNBC by giving it a low channel number compared with Bloomberg’s channel.

If this is what Comcast does to cable channels, god forbid what they would do if there will come a time there would be no more net neutrality!
As a huge tennis fan and a comcast subscriber, I always found it frustrating trying to find the tennis channel. It is all the way up at 737, while all the other sports channels were in the double digits as low as 21. At least now I know why.
I hate Comcast with a passion of a thousand suns, but all the low numbered channels are channels that have had those positions for years. Those are the channels that are carried on analog.
Does the Tennis Channel honestly believe it should be carried around the same area as ESPN? Maybe if Comcast was putting everything on digital and was grouping their channels together.
Does comcast at least have the tennis channel? I have verizon fios currently, and they have cancelled the tennis channel completely. I have an appointment to have comcast installed, and am assured that they carry the tennis channel by their sales rep. So I’m asking any people that subscribe to comcast if they still have the tennis channel? Is there any plans for Comcast to get rid of the tennis channel? Please let me know if anyone can help me.
Thanks
Does anybody know if comcast have the Tennis channel right now? I am a verizon customer, and verizon cancelled the tennis channel at the beginning of September. But at Verizon website, it still shows they have tennis channel in their sports package. I wonder if comcast really have the Tennis channel, even their website list tennis channel in the sports package. Thanks a lot.
