FX is continuing its strategy of dealing for every movie ever made. This time, the network has landed commercial TV premiere rights to Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which just wrapped the highest-grossing Fourth of July opening of all time over the weekend and has grossed $181.1 million domestic to date. Last week, FX acquired Bad Teacher, and the network also recently has nabbed Green Lantern, The Hangover Part II, Super 8, X-Men: First Class, Thor, The Green Hornet, Tron: Legacy and Kung Fu Panda 2.

“FX is continuing its strategy of dealing for every movie ever made.”
That made me chuckle. What’s FX’s deal?
FX see that Turner has stepped aside somewhat from buying newer movies and USA’s movie buys have always leaned more toward library titles than new flicks and they see this as a way to corner the market. Nothing wrong with that.
FX is buying everything
In the future, every single movie produced will bypass theatrical release and head straight to FX, which will also need 10 different channels to show all the movies they have the rights to.
FX has an output deal with Sony and with parent Fox. They’re just not announcing the pre-buys they’ve done at once and instead rolling them out 1 at a time to get press.
Best basic cable station keeps getting better.
WHO CARES? Why do you even report this? Who cares when somewhere in few years some network will show it? By this time everyone will watch it in cinema or DVD? Who cares if will it be on FX, NBC or USA….
Cannot wait to watch all these… in 2015.
