Last night’s sixth-season finale of the A&E series Gene Simmons Family Jewels, in which Simmons proposed to Shannon Tweed, set ratings records for the veteran reality series. It was the most-watched episode of the franchise with 3 million viewers and the highest-rated ever with 1.7 million viewers in adults 18-49 and 1.9 million in 25-54. The series returns with original episodes on Sept. 6 when Tweed’s response will be revealed.

If this is just a ratings stunt, it’s interesting that Gene Simmons would do it now–seeing as not getting married has always been such a huge part of his shtick.

I loved the suspense…In loved Shannons reaction..I loved how sincere Gene looked on his knees. this couple has restored my faith in the love between a man and a woman. The hell with what jealous losers think… This touched my heart. Tradition and values are all we have to leave our children…Good job Gene and Shannon… thank you 2.

She is not his common-law wife. For that to be true they both would have to be living as if they were married. It has to be AGREED upon, he NEVER agreed to be married to her until now. A couple as has to present themselves to others as if they are man and wife, something they also have NEVER done.

if you look at her ring finger when she is commentating, it shows the diamond. She tried to hide it when she moves her hands but sometimes she doesn’t and you catch a peek at it.
This is true in the last eps you can see the ring on her finger!

Shannon is da’ bomb and they are very much made for proving giving their great kids both a great Mom & Dad – formally. This marks the point in Gene’s life when he finally grew up. Yeah like most of us did back when we turned 21. I know it looks VERY bad for this to happen as part of a “reality” show, which is why Trump running for President seemed to be such a joke. But this isn’t a joke. Gene is the real deal with the real spiel. He’s an awesome dude. And no, not just because I know his songs and have made it more than clear to him which I love, and which I hate, and why. This is something I love in Gene – this is for real. KISS may have jumped the shark a long time ago, and I haven’t admitted that yet, but Gene’s experience with love and God’s sense of purpose in his life has just begun, and the best is yet to come for Gene.

This was in no way a stunt. You could see the genuine feelings in their faces. He truly wanted to make-up for his indiscretions. The proposal was proof to her that he truly loves her.
She’s been twisted around like an old doorknob many a time and after living with this schmuck for X # of years, what else would she say to him pertaining to a marriage proposal?

I’m sure he means it, even for the ratings. And it must have been difficult for her & the kids to live through this change of life in front of a camera. I heard that they are currently not living together. He made a last ditch effort, after realizing that most women would not put up with his crap, even for the money. Jerry Hall didn’t. And his kids are siding with Mom, who raised them, basically, as a single mother. He’ll live the rest of life old, rich and alone. He’ll have his various businesses to keep him warm. I don’t know if she’ll give him another chance unless he keeps up with the therapy and doesn’t resort back to his BS. I hope everyone gets the life they want, together OR apart. The show really grew on me.

Ok… I am pissed that it was a cliffhanger, but somehow I knew that would happen… Its NOT fake people! It was totally genuine! I believe Gene when he asked her… They are soooooo good together… So they hit a snag… Gene manned up & realized he was wrong this whole time… And, he accepted the TRUTH! Amen!
Your a moron for thinking that’s the same ring. Would you actually think the producers don’t proof the episode before letting it air. They would catch the ring before. The show is just a scripted show. If they were married we would know before the show aired. Celebrities can’t keep secrets.
I think that he truly meant it. I hope she said yes, but I have a feeling it was a no. She was probably crying because she was not only shocked about the proposal, but maybe because she just didn’t want that right now with knowing she was going to split for good. Who knows though. I feel it would have been leaked by media by now or someone that she said yes, if she indeed did. Again, who knows. I too, believe people can change. He has been bad and maybe he wants to grow up now and knowing he could lose her forever & didn’t want to live his life w/o her, he decided to become faithful and wants to show her that he means it by proposing, making her the only one.
I dont believe this was for publicity. Gene may do a lot of things for money but its done to provide for his family not to hurt them. He may be a bad boyfriend but he loves his kids. He and Shannon have been through a lot but now that the kids are gone they’re going through the same thing other empty nesters are foing through! No surprise there! Being stars doesn’ mean they aren’t people. This shows that stars don’t get off easier than the rest of us!! I for one hope they have the best life and best family time ever. Gene and KISS give so much to the fans we owe them some support and love in return. Its only fair. Gene and Shannon I for one wish you love and strength and joy and happiness. For the people with hateful commers, do you guys actually watch the show. Like someone said it was a do or die moment. Shannon was ready to leave him but then he smarten up. It’s really obvious that he loves her, and for you to judge whether or not it’s real is really pathetic. Get a life and go work on your own relationships before you judge others.

This is not fake, People ran a story about Shannon maybe leaving Gene, they would not have done that if this had been a publicity stunt. I love Gene, this is why, the man has heart, all you have to do is watch him, sure alot of the show is put on, but there are the moments when you see that heart shine through and I love Shannon, she’s awesome, that woman is one of the best mothers you will ever see, some of my favorite shots are the old home movies of her with the kids, she is one special lady and Gene knows it, they have 2 great kids, you can see the love. family belongs together, I couldn’t be happier for them.

Theres a lot of unesscessary negative comments on here. If you watch the show you can see that this is genuine. Gene loves Shannon and his kids and I don’t think he would do anything that would hurt them. He’s been a Rock Star for years and he had an image. I think he’s finally realizing that the Best image he can have is that of a Loving Husband and Father. Gene,I wish you, Shannon and the kids the Best.
