Just in time for Comic-Con, FilmDistrict has unveiled a red band trailer for Drive, the Nicolas Winding Refn-directed drama that stars Ryan Gosling, Albert Brooks, Ron Perlman and Carey Mulligan. Is it me, or does Gosling seem very much like Steve McQueen-esque in one of those 70s movies and Brooks like one of those heavies that McQueen bumped up against?

Perhaps the most badass trailer in years. God bless everyone in this movie. Can not wait.
I’m in. Looks a lot like Walter Hill’s THE DRIVER, but that’s not a bad movie to look like.
I think it’s just you.
And that “fight” in the elevator is just about the fakest looking thing this side of WWE– particularly the move where Gosling is supposed to be ramming the guy’s head into the wall. The guy’s head was obviously 6 inches away from it!
I just can’t buy any current actor under the age of about 50 as a tough guy.
Nope, apparently it’s you. This looks fantastic.
Wow that’s pretty good to be able to make a blanket statement about a movie from a 1.5 second clip. Bravo.
You need to expand your horizons a little bit. Nobody under 50? Really?
Saw this at the L.A.F.F. Refn’s best work. Gosling is superb. Brooks should get best supporting actor nod. Musical score was amazing. Great film.
holy SMOKES does that look good. wowsers.
Looks good. Except for Carey Mulligan. She ruined wall street 2.
No. Wall Street 2 ruined Wall Street 2.
One word: awesome.
Promising, will see how it turns out.
AWESOME!
Fookin-A, now that’s what I call a great trailer!!!! Ryan Gosling (if he isn’t already) is about to go big time with this and CRAZY STUPID LOVE. He’s going to be the next Ed Norton – picking smart intelligent Hollywood and indie projects.
Kudos to all involved, can’t wait.
The next Edward Norton? I thought you were trying to compliment the guy!
Looks Fantastic! Hear it’s under 15 and filmed in LA. Can. Not. Wait.
So…he’s a good driver that miraculously makes him also a good murderer? I don’t see the correlation.
No, he’s a stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver for bank robbers, but gets caught up in murder and mayhem.
Miraculously.
How much skill and intelligence do you think it takes to become a “good” murderer? High school drop-outs living in trailer parks and inner-cities manage to pull it off everyday in America. Besides, it’s not like the CIA recruited Gosling’s character off the movie set to do contract kills.
I think the movie looks good, and Gosling’s natural intensity makes him a good fit for this type of role. Great casting.
Definitely a throwback to those 70s action flicks. But who cares? It looks great.
Saw this movie last night at Comic-Con. Oh my God. Great cast and great filmmaking. There will be a lot of people up for awards on this one. Rifn, Gosling, Brooks for sure, maybe best picture. You haven’t seen a movie like this for years and years.
saw it at LAFF. so. f’n. amazing.
hard to compare it to anything that has been out in the last couple years. one of those films you keep thinking about. Brooks is so,so good.
Looks good, but I liked it better the first time…when it was called The Transporter
That’s the funniest comparison I’ve read in ages.
Shouldn’t you be saying The Transporter with substance.
looks fucking great!
I’ve had a man crush on Gosling since “Murder By Numbers.” Great actor, one of the best. With this and “Crazy, Stupid’” he’s going to break out. Mulligan, Cranston, and Brooks round out the cast nicely. Tired of waiting for this one.
See THE BELIEVER and BLUE VALENTINE – Gosling is fantastic in both!
DRIVE is an amazing film! I understand why it won Best Director at Canne. It is visually stunning, the music is like another character and the standout of all: ALBERT BROOKS.
You’ve come a long way from playing a fish.
Yup.
The movie is incredible! Refn gets nominated and Brooks wins an academy award. So fresh. Why can’t more of these movies get made?
Refn may not get nominated because the movie is too violent but Brooks most definitely deserves to be nominated and has a good chance of winning. This movie also has an amazing score. Cliff Martinez is brilliant.
Albert Brooks dominates in this movie.
I saw this in Cannes. It is awesome+3.
Looks amazing,,, Ryan Gosling is a superb actor,,, and great to see Albert Brooks play a wonderful part, awesone to see him get a gold guy next Feb in the Kodak Theatre, cant wait to see it,,
