Which part of “Every journey has an end” and “The epic conclusion” suggests that it’s the “possibly final” installment, rather than just the final installment?
$$$
Seriously though, it does seem pretty clear that this is Nolan’s last Batman.
WB is rebooting Batman after this installment so they can do a Justice League with unknowns in the lead roles
That’s fine, but it’s still the final installment.
If they reboot it to start an Avengers-esque Justice League series, it will be an entirely separate endeavor.
It’s Nolan’s last Batman, and while it would be stupid to say they wouldn’t make more Batman movies after this, I have a feeling Nolan’s definitely going to make sure it’s the “FINAL” installment of his own storyline. Meaning, Batman dies.
It’s going to be the last one for Christopher Nolan. If Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are any indication then this is going to be one great movie. It’s been a good run with Christopher Nolan at the helm. I just hope that they won’t try to do anymore Batman movies after The Dark Knight Rises. I don’t think that anyone can top what Christopher Nolan has done with this franchise.
Liked the commercial much better than the trailer.
It is a year before the release and so little material is ready for this teaser trailer. Over the next year, as materials become available…hopefully…the trailers will get more interesting as Nolan puts the film together.
All will be shocked if Nolan doesn’t create a strong finish to his trilogy…and, WB needs this to be really big…just in case Zack and Chris don’t get Superman right…and, the jury will be out on this until Superman is released.
“It is a year before the release and so little material is ready for this teaser trailer. Over the next year, as materials become available…hopefully…the trailers will get more interesting as Nolan puts the film together.”
Uh, yeah. That’s generally how it works.
Gee, Bazings,
“Uh, yeah. That’s generally how it works”…thanks for your comforting post to let me and others know you are on top of this process…cause, obviously, we don’t get it.
Thanks for the confirmation.
The Batman needs to come back? That’s it? Is that Robinov in bed making that demand?
It looked like Gordon to me.
Man .. Bane looks HUGE … I can’t wait. .. !!!!
In that scene near the end of the teaser, Batman looks scared of Bane, which is a rarity for Batman.
Yeah Batmans scared of Bane! Bane gonna kick his ass!
Not in the comics it isn’t…Bane is the one villain who shows the potential to outmatch both his strength AND intelligence…
I didn’t know a 33 year old man could wet his pants, but I continue to surprise myself.
Lol! Well, how about that.
Batman about to spar with Bane looks comical. Like a wrestlemania bout or something. I really hope Nolan doesn’t screw the pooch.
Didn’t WB already announce that another reboot is already in the works? Maybe they could back up a money truck to Nolan’s house and convince him to produce..
Okay, we saw the teaser, it’s cool… now nobody talk about it until the movie comes out.
ready… go.
MIDNIGHT SCREENING FOR SURE!
One of the worst trailers I have ever seen for a major action adventure movie. I’m a big fan of the last 2 Batman movies and I’m sure I’ll see this one as well – but WTF?
Let’s see… some guy in a bed (I have no idea who that was) A couple of brief shots of Bruce Wayne from the 1st Nolan Batamn movie (BFD) Some glass falling off some blue high rises (oooo…) and 2 seconds of Batman in costume and the back of Bane who looks like a guy from the WWF. Whoever put this together in the marketing depratment should be fired. It had the exact opposite effect a trailer should have. I’m less interested in seeing it now then before I saw the trailer. Hopefully the next Batman trailer will be better than this – ugh…
A) It’s called a teaser trailer. It’s not supposed to show much of anything.
B) The guy in the bed is very clearly Gary Oldman (Gordon). Anyone who has seen the last two movies could see that plain as day.
C) How you could say that Bane looks like a guy from wrestling is ridiculous considering we saw two flashes of him: one of his face with a weird mask on and another of him from behind.
Some people are just hopeless.
I’ve seen hundreds of teaser trailers and regular trailers I know the difference. I’m not even going to try to compare it to a full regular trailer. That said, this is a very, very poorly done teaser trailer.
I’ve seen teaser trailers for D grade movies that were more interesting then this one. For a major studio to release somthing this poorly put together is an embarassment. And I AM a fan of the Nolan Batman movies.
They’er still shooting it knucklehead.
There’s a big difference between a “teaser”, which this is, and a “trailer”.
Maybe Nolan’s ‘final’ Batman movie will be like ‘The Final Problem’ for Sherlock Holmes. (As in the final isn’t so final) One of the reasons Doyle brought the character back after a while was because so many people wanted him to.
I’m super pumped for this movie!~
Looks good, but I still want a downloadable 1080 dpi trailer…hopefully it’ll be out soon!
More please.
Epic fail.
Just kidding – I just hate when people write comments like that.
Looks cool, people don’t really care right? I saw TF3 this weekend and quite surprised at how much it was exactly like the others. Intro story, intro hot chick. Shia running and keeps thinking Bumblebee is gonna get killed, parents banter and then robots fighting for 2 hours. Hard movie to make – not knocking that – but why is Hangover 2 the only one getting questioned for being the exact same.
Marketing is king – they actually convinced me it was different. Exact same and I sorta enjoyed it all over again.
Bay is a master craftsman – and knows his genre – but the actors must be snickering at their ridiculous dialogue and setting every time the director yells ‘cut’.
You hear that sound in the distance going “drip, drip, drip” real fast?
That’s the sound of WB executives collectively drooling at the gobs of money they’re gonna make with this movie.
I mean, he does get his spine snapped by Bane way back in the comic.
@SS Crompton:
What exactly did you expect? They have only been filming for like 2 weeks, if that.
I’m grateful that they were even able to throw anything together this early to whet our appetites.
Um, they’ve been filming since April.
Batman is not dying folks. That would be the dumbest thing ever. He’s going to rise to the occasion and get back into the good graces of Gothamites now that the league is back and want to wreck shit up again after the first failed attempt.
Bane is going to be tough to pull off convincingly… He looks like he belongs at the Haight Street Festival.
Pretty underwhelming teaser. The Dark Knight teaser only had voiceover and still blew me away when I first heard saw it during Summer 2007. I trust Nolan, but am tempering my hopes.
I’m looking forward to the movie but found this teaser to be completely underwhelming.
Are you kidding me? This trailer gave me goosebumps.
What’s with the collapsing buildings? Maybe Bane got into Batman’s head… “Holy Inception, Batman!”
Whatever… THE AVENGERS teaser trailer has me WAY more excited than Dark Knight. I cannot wait to see that movie! For that matter, I can’t wait until Captain America comes out this weekend so I can see the Avengers teaser on the big screen after the credits!!
Please, no 3D.
Please, no 3D.
Please, no 3D.
Can’t make judgement based on this. Need to see more.
