  • Agreed, I felt worse then George as well. This movie looks so bad. So unfunny. Adam Sandler is not funny anymore and hasn’t been in years. Pretty much since he left Bob Simonds and teamed up with knucklehead Jack G. The same cast of lame ass friends are in the movie. To top it off Sandler does his awful accent as the ugly sister and we all remember Little Nicky. Can Amy ever say no to Sandler or his idiot agent Venit?

    Yet it will make money because American’s are idiots.

• What’s super depressing is that these aren’t people that NEED to pander for the paycheck. Sandler and co. probably have more creative capital than anyone in comedy and this is what they CHOOSE to produce.

  Or maybe it isn’t depressing. Maybe we’re witnessing very fortunate people making their passion project every time out of the gate.

  I’m still depressed. And would jump at the chance to write J&J for scale.

  • Exactly. I know that ‘Funny People’ caught a lot of flack from people on here, but you could tell that Sandler and Apatow at least cared about it.

    Something like this just screams cash grab, and yet the lowest common denominator will defend it as they line up to buy tickets.

    Even funnier would be Nick Cage from 8MM mashed up to a preview of whatever horrid Nick Cage movie comes out next.

    Like he’s being shown a glimpse of his own terrible future because I’m sure his response to the film in 8MM would be the same exact response 1990′s Nick Cage would have seeing the preview to the Wicker Man or Season of the Witch.

    Man, the mash up with to Bees scene in WM alone would be gold.

• In all seriousness, I usually watch the trailers for Adam Sandler movies (Just Go With It, Grown-ups, etc) and, while I’m cringing, I can at least respect them as broad, commercial trailers. Especially seeing them in theaters where they consistently play huge with the audience. However, this one is a real turkey — there isn’t a single broad laugh in the entire trailer.

  • The people that watch this type of explosive diarrhea on film are desperate, weak, frightened, and truly empty of soul just trying to kill a couple of hours in order to forget that they too are going to die one day. So they are willing to shovel huge amounts of cash into the likes of an Adam sandler while forcing themselves to laugh at the hideously lame jokes and pretending that they “get it” and are “in” on the joke.
