EXCLUSIVE: Kim Dickens has been cast in a lead role alongside Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron in Killer Films’ Heartland, which revolves around a traditional father (Quaid) who wishes for his race-car driver son (Efron) to take over the family-run seed business in Iowa, a tale that includes racing and illegal goings-on. Dickens will play the mother, Irene. Pam Koffler and Christine Vachon are producing for Killer Films. Dickens, who is a series regular on HBO’s drama series Treme and next appears on the big screen in Paramount’s Footloose, is repped by Gersh.

Kim Dickens is and amazing actress. Couldnt be more happy for her.
She deserves better roles than this
I can’t believe you don’t even mention that this movie is written and directed by Ramin Bahrani. An indie icon who was named as director of the decade by Roger Ebert.
agreed
She should be a big star
She is just wonderful
Also, are you sure about that title? It was the title a long time ago but dropped in favor for ‘Untitled Ramin Bahrani Project’ a few months ago. Did they really decide to use the ‘old’ title again, or was that just an oversight on your part like the omission of the director?
Well… does that mean her character gets the axe this season?!?! LOL! Best of luck to Kim! She’s a phenomenal actress!
Love Kim and its nice to see her getting more roles. Hope her character Jeanette comes back to Treme Season 3 to open her restaurant and be a NOLA chef again.
I’ve been a fan of Kim’s since “Deadwood” and later had the pleasure of working with her. A great actress and a great lady. Wishing her all the best with this….
Besides being a great actor, she is one of the nicest people you will encounter in Hollywood.
Kim is a natural, she is so real, her sterling character comes across in all the roles she’s done.
