MTV has picked up Teen Wolf for a second season, the network announced today, calling for 12 new episodes to air in 2012. The teen-skewing werewolf show is the network’s highest-rated new series this season, attracting about 1.7 million viewers on Mondays at 10 PM, where it has doubled the time-period average compared with a year ago. Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed and Dylan O’Brien star. Creator Jeff Davis, Marty Adelstein, Michael Thorn, René Echevarria, Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are executive producers; Russell Mulcahy is co-executive producer. David Janollari and Justin Levy are the MTV execs in charge of production. The series is a co-production with MGM in association with Lost Marbles Prods, First Cause and DiGa.

Some shows succeed, some shows fail.
Have you even watched the show? It is very well made and stands up to other fantasy/sci-fi fair. I thought it would be just another dumb teen show like Power Rangers. However, it is on par with Battlestar Galactica when it comes to quality, script and direction. It’s has very much do to the talents of Russell Mulcahy (Highlander) and others. Shows like this only come along every five or so years. It was pretty gutsy of them to also put in a horror mood with the episodes. Watch it you will probably like it.

I agree I love this show and think that it is very well made and directed. I think that people need to give shows a chance and just stop shooting them down before they even watch them. I don’t understand why people say some shows should stay if they don’t get the number of views then they don’t need to be TV.
Yep, they deserve it.. I can not wait to see the second season of Teen Wolf.. It can not come quick enough.. They would be stupid not to continue it.

Yeah they left a loop holes open in the first one though and they should fill them in. You know like what is the veterinian role is he leader of a different werewolf clan or is he a vampire or what is he? You remember when he was protecting Alex from the Alapha werewolf and he backed away from him like he was afraid of him or something?
No, first, his name is Scott not Alex xD and second, he backed away because of the mountain dust. (Its one of those things for werewolves, like garlic to vampires), in other words, it harms werewolves. Hope that helped. Aha.
And it’s actually a pretty good show for the targeted audience.

Talk about a scripted programming fail at MTV. What the heck are they doing over there? I wouldn’t be bragging about averaging 1.7 million viewers per episode no matter what the channel. Must be some pretty low standards over there.

I don’t really think you have the right to say that. How would you know the standards of the channel. Have you ever even really watched the show taken the time to pay attention. I would like to see you try to write direct and cast a show any better thatn Teen Wolf. I’m sure you couldn’t so you have absoluty no right to talk.
I can see that the show works for the targeted audience and it’s nice when crews get to continue working, but the comparison to BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is ridiculous. BSG was a Peabody Award winning show that redefined how people will do SciFi tv for some time to come. It had some of the best writing, directing and acting ever seen on television. You went a bit too far there. And, no, it’s not a matter of opinion.
Wow, Battlestar Galactica wasn’t all that. It didn’t suck either. But, “redefined how people will do SciFi tv for some time to come.” WTF have you been drinking my friend. Battlestar Galactica is not on the level of the original Star Wars Trilogy or films or tv shows that have changed history. At it’s best it was just a run down looking version of Star Trek The Next Generation. Don’t get me wrong, it had better dialogue and good drama. Their were flaws like being inside of a trashcan, character’s who got tired and boring as the season’s went on and etc. And that series finaly was so dumb with psycho babel b.s.! Again, I’m NOT saying that Battlestar Gallactica sucked!! It was a great show, but history altering, I don’t think so. Teen Wolf is just as good.

if tyler can get a bit better in his delivery during his hiatus (which I doubt he will do) I think it would be an even better show. great for the target and sneakily grabs ppl outside of its target.
First off, I never said it was “history changing”. I said it “redefined” how a SciFi show was done up to that point. Mainly,that they did the show without using “Tech Babble” or having a “monster of the week”. It focused on the humanity of the characters that were under extreme duress from having had their world destroyed and sent off to drift in space looking for their survival.
Redefined = done a new way that heretofore has not been done.
I can’t even comment on your “run down version of Star Trek Next Generation. That alone ruins your credibility. Seems you are drinking something yourself.
Finally, comparing a tv show to the film trilogy of Star Wars makes no sense whatsoever. One is a tv show, the other is a set of films.
I love a good debate, but it’s better when the other person isn’t all over the place with their argument.
I love Teen Wolf its a good show (I’m a teen the target audience) MTV has some great shows Teen Wolf Rj Berger Awkward Teen Mom is cool I enjoy Jersey Shore to an extent but I wish they would have kept Skins to me it was a more mature version of Digrassi. omg 4 real dat is my show. the show airs again on jan. 2, 2012. i abs. cannot wait. i am in love with that show & teen wolf. i love all the girls on pll. but my favorite is spencer she’s so straight foward & dosen’t take bull. she was like da only 1 who could stand up 2 allison. although not 2 happy right now with her 4 breakin up with Toby. none the less i still love her & the show it self.
I love this show and if we all ask for an uncut unrated blueray version we will see hotter scenes not shown on tv and they will do it if we ask. I hope it starts getting kinky like true blood did.

Wow, there’s some pretty harsh comments on here. I love this show and I’m not a part of the “targeted audience”, I’m a tad bit older actually but I don’t see why that’s even relevant. I’m guessing most of you that are bashing the show aren’t a part of the targeted audience either. Most new tv shows that come out for the younger viewers are still too mature for them, by saying that I mean I wouldn’t let my teens watch 90% of what comes on MTv but Teen Wolf is right up their alley. The innocence of the show is what I like, the young love and fantasy features of it. So what if some of the acting isn’t perfect or if some of the special effects/graphics need a little work, when it comes down to whether or not it should be continued, I say most definitely! The actors/actresses ARE fabulous, I think its who’s sitting behind the camera who needs a little work. So basically yes I’m thrilled that its coming back for a 2nd season and hope for many more than that. Atleast that awful, drug promoting, STD infected “Skins” isn’t coming back. WTH were they thinking with that? Yes I’m aware that situations of Skins happens everyday in just about every school but to advertise it and promote it was probably the most stupid and irresponsible decision ever made by MTv. So Congrats to everyone involved with Teen Wolf and I look forward to next season!

I didn’t think Teen Wolf would be a good show, but I actually watched a episode one day and I loved it!!! I like how it’s drama/action filled. it seems more real then all those other werewolf tv shows.
I stayed up all night and watched all of the episodes of season 1 on netflix. i love stiles.
he’s ok. but derek he’s da 1. although stiles has some sexy lips. dat jus makes u wanna kiss him so bad. teen wolf is such an amazing show. the characters are good, the boys are hot, the plot is good, it leaves u on da edge of yo seats. wat more could u ask for in a good show
