EXCLUSIVE: I’ve learned that, when the final deal is done, the bulk of the youth department at Abrams Artists Agency will be leaving to join Paradigm. Making the move are Abrams agents Wendi Green and Jen Millar, who are bringing to Paradigm their biggest clients, including Angus Jones, the highest-paid “child” actor from Two And A Half Men. Sources are telling me this is a “devastating loss” to Abrams Artists Agency. “It’s a big deal as it opens up an entire new essential department for Paradigm which is not only a great business in its own right but also helps develop the major stars of tomorrow for the talent department.” The new hires will report to Norm Aladjem, the chairman of Paradigm’s management committee, who was driving this deal. Paradigm is mum, but insiders are denying there’s any Paradigm-Abrams merger in the offing.

Is this just the LA office of Abrams or New York as well?
Wendi is a superstar–she broke everyone from Olivia wilde, leighton meester, seann william scott, katie holmes. Paradigm lucked out with this hire. She has an amazing eye for talent.
Hahahahahahaha. I love that Wendi just posted that about herself. Anyone who has EVER (and I mean ever) worked with this train wreck knows that she has stumbled from one success to another (thanks to an amazing support staff) and loses them as quickly as she finds them. I”ve personally seen her sleeping in her office during work hours while her tireless assistants made her look good. What a useless piece of human existence. Luckily, Jen is as much a waste of space as she is. Here’s hoping that Paradigm takes their one worthwhile client and dumps these two sacks of shit on the curb.
Don’t get me wrong Wendy has a great eye for talent, but keeping it is a different story.
all of these people broke AFTER they left her. wendi holds great talent back.
“…holds talent back” Classic! One of the all-time great Hollywood sad songs! No doubt you posted this at a computer at Kinko’s and then took the bus home.
Somebody took Norm up on his offer to grab a coffee…
LOL. Classic!!
I’m curious about that too. Article says entire Dept. so I assume LA and NY, commercial and legit.
i bet this means those agents will have to alter their 1 hour work day and 7 hour lunch break
Good riddance. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to Harry Abrams not to treat his employees like utter shit. From the agents to the assistants, this entire company thrives on unhappiness. The turnover at this place is amazing. Talk about rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic…
Harry will never learn that lesson because it’s not how he operates. If there is a way to treat agents that makes them feel undervalued as well as underpaid, he’ll find it. Time and time again, it never ever fails. Plus that clown Joe Rice just stays around forever alienating people and making a mess out everything, it’s so gross. Blech.
I guess that’s what happens when you pay minimum wage
Minimum wage? Please. If I may quote Mr. Abrams himself, his employees should be paying HIM for the experience HE is giving them!
To add to the delusional mans flawed perception of this industry, he considers his agency to be a “STRONG INDEPENDENT” if you will, and the majors to be “OUT TO LUNCH”… Get real!!! And I suppose it’s still common practice for people to churn their own butter. What agency still uses a type writer, HONESTLY!?! Can you say bottom of the food chain or sinking ship, it’s pretty easy, ABRAMS ARTISTS AGENCY.
Lol @ the typewriters comment! Their website says they were founded in ’77, which by the sounds of it seems like the last time they bought any new equipment
Harry, not Mr. Abrams, is so senile, greedy, and out of touch with reality that he thinks its 74 when a gallon of gas was fifty cents and $8 per hour was a liveable wage. The ego on this man is fantastic. He honestly thinks he has the right to take advantage of people because it is their “privilege” to work and learn from this “great” man all the while being eligible for food stamps and making him millions. he honestly goes to bed every night thinking what a difference he is making in the young peoples lives he employs and has employed. i hope he reads this to know what a joke everyone thinks he is. i really hope this place becomes a soho house dance floor soon.
Why merge when you can hire the employees?
Rumors flying that Ellen Gilbert out of the NY Abrams office will be leaving to go to Paradigm NY office.
I love how someone gives the credit for a child actor “making it” to their agent. When, all that agent did was send them out. Whoever at CBS put Angus Jones on that show deserves all the credit. Agents really don’t matter.
Agents and managers are vital in both discovering and pushing talent.
Anyone who works in representation knows how hard it can be to get established actors in the door and up the ladder, let alone newcomers.
Good for them, I’m surprised Wendi stayed at Abrams as long as she did frankly.
LOL – if you think agents don’t matter, than you clearly are not in this town. You also
probably think that it’s the stars that make movies successful, not the writers, directors, and everybody all the way down to the grips. Newsflash genius – it takes all parts of the machine to make anyone or anything successful. And when it comes to actors – their talent is only one part
of the equation. Without the rest of the team, they wind up nowhere. And it’s not about sending them out – it’s about sustaining once they have actually landed the job. And no chump – I don’t even rep actors — but I work directly with the agents that do rep actors and it’s not as easy as you think. Now go back to your beer and casserole and leave the comments for those that actually work in this business.
Bitter party of 1.
I’ve never heard a kind word about Paradigm.
Sounds like a perfect match.
Sounds like another customer at Kinko’s. Better hurry… your bus will be here in a minute.
It seems telling of her character that almost no one ever stays with her once they make it big.
You are so right. It says nothing of the fact that once they make it big they realize they are at an agency who’s reception room looks like the set of a 1970′s sitcom. No doubt, but for her, they would still be at Abrams
She couldn’t keep talent because she was at Abrams. When did anyone there ever keep a client? Except the ones that don’t work.
not New York. Just LA
she may have a great eye but she has a horrible mouth
So I just did some light research and spoke to a friend at Abrams who says the place is far from burning down without those agents: There is still a kids department with two agents and it’s business as usual with appointments coming in and going out.
Nice try, Mr Abrams.
Really? Far from burning down? They just lost 4 agents in less than a month… you do the math.
The place has been a sinking ship for years. Maybe they should start paying their employees, that would be some incentive to keep employees and have them work hard for a company.
Paradigm should go re-sign Jose Baez and have him do the deal to move the NY division away from Abrams.
“Agents really don’t matter”? Are you serious? Who believed in Angus enough to send him and make sure the people at CBS gave him a shot to audition? It’s the agent that puts the actor in the room. You’re right, CBS made the decision and Angus had the talent but without the agent doing their job Angus never would have been cast.
You’re damn right
Heard that Wendi Green will initiate the charge on luring the NY division away from Abrams and over to Paradigm.
Harry Abrams never adapted to modern times. His philosophy is what hindered growth at that Agency.
i’m surprised they don’t call out auditions via telegraph
Wendi and Jen are great and this was a smart move on Norm’s behalf!!!
I heard this was done so Norman can finally be taller then someone at the agency.
How long before NY Abrams heads to Paradigm…
Paradigm. Abrams. Doesn’t matter. ICM still rules baby!
Get back to your mail cart kid. That mail won’t deliver itself.
I served time in the Abrams mail room and let me tell you, the amount of mail that comes through to that place is not nearly the quantity that would warrant a mail cart…
What does that have to do with this article???
Um, Jennifer and Wendi are not the ENTIRE department. Kid’s commercial and kid’s voiceover, very profitable departments for Abrams are operated by different people.
The kids at Abrams do not have agency contracts tying them to the agency. That makes this little deal a free for all. Wendi does not have the “right” to make a deal dependent on the actors. I’m quite sure each of the actors will get to CHOOSE whether or not to go to Paradigm (or somewhere else entirely). Similarly, I would be surprised if Paradigm would be willing to take the lower level kids on Abram’s theatrical roster.
Actors are not cattle, and not sold to the highest bidder. Actors CHOOSE their representation.
Paradigm just won the lottery… Great home for Wendi and Jen
