Fox Searchlight has changed the release date of its Alexander Payne-directed The Descendants. The comedic drama starring George Clooney and Judy Greer was slated for limited release Dec. 16, 2011 but has been moved up to Nov. 23. That gets the pic away from Warner Bros’ new Sherlock Holmes movie but also the Weinstein Co’s Meryl Streep-starrer The Iron Lady, which could be seeking the same audience. Now Descendants‘ toughest direct competition on the new date might be another Weinstein pic, the Cannes hit The Artist. On Wednesday, Paramount moved Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol from Dec. 16 to Dec. 21.
Also, CBS Films has shifted the date on The Woman in Black from Jan. 20, 2012 to Feb. 3, 2012. The thriller stars Daniel Radcliffe as a lawyer who travels to a remote village and discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals.

The Woman in Black was directed by James Watkins who is ridiculously talented. I guess I can wait an extra week or two.
The guy has made some interesting and profitable movies. Big stars work with him. Bankable stars work with him. He comes up with something a little off track “a movie shot in Black and White called Nebraska…and the studio says NO. TV can’t handle Black and White after the release in theaters. Well studio it can and you should pony up. Get behind the creative mind once in awhile and be surprised. What reasoning can you possibly have to say NO.
Just pony up the money…let the guy work and produce Nebraska..great script undoutedly great cast…

I do not understand the release of this film. It was not released as advertised and now that it is in Denver it is in a small local theater that mostly shows artsy films. If they want to keep this movie quiet they are doing an excellent job.
That looks cool and scary does anyone know when it comes out in Ireland and what is the age group???
