It has been a wild night at CNN. First, Christine O’Donnell walked out on Piers Morgan in the middle of an interview. Then fellow anchor Anderson Cooper channeled his inner toddler when he giggled for about a minute over a poo-poo joke. The instigator was a RidicuList item about French actor Gerard Depardieu’s alleged public urination on the floor of a plane as it was getting ready for takeoff. Cooper cracked up several times while reading the commentary, oversaturated with pee-related puns, until he lost it after the line that the the airline cleaning crew “should thank their lucky stars this wasn’t DeparTwo.” (For the uninitiated, the last part of Depardieu’s name sounds like the French word “deux”, or No. 2, as in pooping.) Struggling to regain composure after the juvenile and silly joke, Cooper said, “Sorry, this has actually never happened to me. You always see this sort of thing on YouTube, and you never think it could happen to you.”

Cooper laughs like a schoolgirl. the whole segment was pathetic. Gerard maybe excentric but he is a great guy and a brilliant actor.

Too bad this “great guy” wasn’t thinking of his fellow passengers or those that would have to clean up his “eccentricities”. What’s possibly more pathetic is adoring fans who excuse bad behaviour from celebrities. If he was anyone else he would have been arrested. And rightly so.

Sorry, didn’t realize we’re in West Hollywood after dark. It may surprise you to learn that not everyone is enamored with seeing a grown man act like a woman, or in Cooper’s case, a little girl. All of Hollywood is not democratic, nor is all of it affected by being called homophobe or hater simply because it shares a different view. Isn’t that what “tolerance” is all about? Accepting any and everyone? That’s what gay people expect, but have such difficulty in reciprocating.
As a big time, right wing, flag waving, Fox News fan I’m no fan of Anderson or CNN. That being said … lay off the guy. This is just plain funny and it’s great seeing the human side of anyone’s news readers. Too many puns in too few sentences for anyone to keep a straight face. Wow. When I worked for CNN fifteen years ago, we actually covered news. I stopped watching ten years ago, when it was dumbed down in response to FOX. Is this the material that CNN now covers? Is this what Anderson Cooper thinks is journalism? I am so, so glad that we have alternatives now (like the internet). CNN – grow up.
