Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father finally has a son: Ben Foster has been tapped to play John Gotti Jr in the pic, which stars John Travolta as John Sr, Al Pacino and Kelly Preston. Joe Pesci also has been cast in the production, but he’s suing producer Fiore Films over his role. Barry Levinson, who replaced original helmer Nick Cassavetes, is directing the pic from a screenplay by Levinson and James Toback. Production is set to begin Jan. 3. Foster, who co-starred in 3:10 to Yuma and more recently opposite Jason Statham in The Mechanic, is reuniting with Levinson after starring in the director’s 1999 film Liberty Heights.

This Gotti Movie seems like the only people that are interested in this being made is the people that are being paid to be in it or work on it.
and Travolta being John…geeezzz no way.
put 40 pounds on Ray Liota Im there first night
“This Gotti Movie seems like the only people that are interested in this being made is the people that are being paid to be in it or work on it”
Who exactly should be interested in a movie that hasn’t gone into production other than the people who will be getting work because of it?
Excellent. Foster’s had a string of good parts. Pandorum, The Messenger, 3:10. Now Gotti… Dude’s on a role.
This is a Lifetime movie, right?
This project sounded like trouble from the get-go.
This is a MOW!! Next you will see the “Drama” will be cast in the pic. ……..VICTORY!!!
Epic Fail. Foster ruins every movie he’s in. 3:10 to Yuma would have been good if he wasn’t in it.
I hope Pesci wins his lawsuit and doesn’t have to partake in this crapfest movie. I bet Al Pacino will be out soon.
With a Toback script, even a co-script, it should rock.
I’m not sure why anyone is bothering to sign on for this when everyone knows it’ll never be made. This is just a case of one old has-been pretending to put a movie together in order to get some attention for himself. At least some actors’ agents are doing their due diligence and not passing the script along. The rest ought to be ashamed of themselves.
This movie is gonna fail. Stuttering John Melendez is behind this joke.
there is only one John Gotti and this movie will be made
I like Ben Foster and the rest of the cast
Howard Stern fans want to hate on this film, but I think Howard himself will review it positively PROVIDED Stuttering John can deliver Al Pacino for a Howard Stern interview.
Bababooey
Actually 3:10 to Yuma is a good film with excellent performances. Crowe and Bale have great rapport and Foster is a splendid bad guy.
Beb Foster is a fantastic actor but, not sure if he’s the right choice. It will be interesting to see if he can pull off an accurate depiction of John Gotti Jr.
This film has train wreck written all over it. If it every gets made, that is…
Ben Foster, that’s a very common name for mafiosi
Why, Ben, why? Why did you joined that circus? Do you actually understand that Lindsay Lohan will play your wife and you would have to share same space as her? You would have to act opposite her. And when everybody will laugh at her – they will laugh at you too? And add the fact that this movie probably will never be shot. In January they will move start of shooting to summer and then to winter again…
Because obviously. Who will give money to Lindsay Lohan movie? And remember that Joe Pesci sues that Fiore guy because he is fraud.
can we say ‘mafia backed? ekes, this sounds like a massive loser…..
I can’t wait to see John Travolta in that role. He was the best choice hands down.
Vin Diesel would have been a better choice for Gotti Jr.
