A three-year agreement with the WGA West that covers web writers-producers working in TV and radio news and promotions in the Los Angeles area was ratified today by CBS. It’s the guild’s first contract with online news writers. The deal includes increases in minimums and wages, and secures grievance procedures, paid vacations, holiday pay, and health and pension benefits. The CBS staff voted to be repped by the WGAW in July 2009 and have been negotiating since then.

Way to go, guys.
Great, now how about fighting for the reality show writers, like you promised years ago????
Typing stuff on your computer for reality people to say is not writing. Sorry.
You obviously don’t have a clue. Sorry.
How about reality writers help us out by waging their own fight to join our union? Nothing’s ever going to happen if you just want union membership handed to you without any effort on your part.
Uh, we did. And the union promised to go to bat for us. But then they didn’t. I don’t want anything handed to me.
Now how about keeping your promise to the reality show writers?
Yeah, way to go guys. Welcome to the Writer’s Guild- where it’s like being charged with murder one and finding out that your attorney is a narcoleptic alcoholic with early-onset Alzheimers. Oh wait, that was our last strike. Bend over, this might hurt a bit.
Wait!! Reality shows are scripted?! Shocking! I thought they were all real!!
Congrats to Lynda Whittaker and all the others who worked so long and hard to finally get this Agreement.
