In a bizarre incident, former Delaware GOP Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell today walked out of the taping of an interview for CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight, which is set to air tonight. The tipping point was Morgan’s question about her stance on gay marriage. (By that point, he had already quizzed her on witchcraft and sex with the tension between the two visibly escalating, especially when Morgan repeatedly asked O’Donnell to address old comments about masturbation she had made in an 1990s MTV documentary special.) “You’re being a little rude,” she told him several times before asking her handlers “Are we done?” and taking off her microphone. But not before schooling Morgan on conducting interviews: “Don’t you think as a host if I say ‘This what I wanna talk about’, that’s what we should address?” O’Donnell was on the show promoting her book Troublemaker. “My first ever walk-out in 25 years of interviews,” Morgan wrote on Twitter. “I guess viewers can decide if I was ‘rude’ or not tonight.” Here is the video, judge for yourselves. UPDATE: After airing the unfinished interview on his show tonight, Morgan invited O’Donnell to return tomorrow and promised not to be rude.

Waaaaaaaaah.
What are you 5 years old? Really… being gay is a choice; Scientists have yet to find a “gay” gene. And believe me, both sides would like to find one; to either call out the other, or to prove their case. Any gay friend, or gay family member, that I have spoken to in depth on this have either had a traumatic sexual encounter that they could not move past; or found it more exciting to be with whom they choose. I do not believe God was involved either way. Is the Tea Party, by the way, the next scapegoat for everything? Quite lame and quite obvious by those who cannot articulate an argument based in rational thought.
I don’t believe God was involved, either. Of course that’s probably because I don’t believe it exists. As for being gay, your research reminds me of those who try and prove global warming is a myth because it’s cold outside. I’ve met two young kids that I would be absolutely shocked if they don’t end up being gay. I think it’s pretty safe to say the majority of gay people were born that way. Why on earth would you choose that life with people lie you out there constantly judging them?
What species did you evolve from ? I find it amazing that there are not people walking around that are still in a state of change or transformation if you will from a monkey to a human; that is, if you believe we all came from something other than our parents (humans).
I am a conservative, libertarian Tea Party member but have no doubt in my mind that being gay is not a choice but the way some of our fellow citizens are born and consequently they have as much right to live their lives as anyone else. Let’s keep our opinions about what is “right” out of other people’s bedrooms, and focus on maintaining a fair society for all Americans, white, black, gay or straight.
Most “conservative libertarians” I know emphasize the importance of evidence and reason in arriving at policy positions. There is no evidence to support the position that homosexuality is innate. There probably are genetic components, but there is no such thing as a human being who from birth is destined or compelled to become addicted to same-sex genital contact. The homosexual has just bonded and identified with his or her neurosis.
Clear, rational statement, wish there were millions more like you!
If ‘gay’ is not a choice how do you explain bisexuals; ie: Anne Heche? “I’m gay, wait, no I’m not”
Secondly, even if you believe that you are born that way, does that automatically make the behavior socially acceptable? There are multiple pathologies that we as a society punish even though they are completely non-discretionary.
Being homosexual cannot logically be genetic- the trait would have been bred out over time.
Using that logic, inherited genetic diseases such as Down’s Syndrome, Hemophilia, Cystic Fibrosis, etc should also be bred out over time. What you are not taking into account is the phenomenon of errors in gene replication. Cell division is not perfect. There are errors in gene replication. This leads to thing such as inherited diseases, cancers, and other aliments.
…because no gay man has ever fathered a child
Indeed, I short, rational statement. How unusual.
This post is not to say whether or not being gay is a choice. I merely want to correct Tony. I studied population genetics in undergrad. Your statement (i.e. that a trait that prohibits procreation of an organism will be bred out over time) has been scientifically proven to be untrue. De novo mutations will keep such mutations at a certain percentage level in the population. Additionally, homosexuality is not completely unpermissive what procreation is concerned, as many gay men and women do procreate with the opposite sex before they “come out” or have sex with both sexes (bisexual).
That is an invalid argument based on an extremely simplistic view of evolution and genetics.
just like albinoism right….
Tony,
That’s a silly argument. That’s like saying that Huntington’s disease cannot be logically genetic since the trait would have been bred out over time.
Homosexuality is a genetic anomaly, just like any other genetic aberration. It’s a recurring decimal because sometimes (just sometimes), sometimes, nature drops the ball.
No human being chooses genetic annihilation. That goes against our evolutionary design. Then again, I can’t use that kind of argument with you if you were willing to think homosexuality isn’t genetic.
Good grief.
THANK YOU!!!!! Fantastic Point!!!!!
makes sense to me.
Just like blond hair, which is a recessive trait. Or how about blue eyes, which are not only polygenic, but also recessive? A genetically correct hypothesis is that homosexuality is caused by not only the genetic (almost certainly recessive) predisposition, but also in utero and environmental factors after birth; the Darwinian selection advantage conferred could be that homosexuals aid the tribe as a whole without producing more children, which are a tremendous energy drain on the tribe.
So, Tony, I’m afraid that your ‘logic’ is, in fact, not only illogical but incorrect.
Speaking as a homosexual with a medical degree, this is how God made me; I’m supposed to be this way!
A total mischaracterization of the skeptical position, as usual. No one is trying disprove AGW because it’s “cold outside”. The models are suspect, the data is frequently flawed and/or manipulated, and the mounting body of trustworthy evidence contradicts the hysterical position the ‘warmists’ have been using to justify destroying our economies for 20 years. I find it amazing that you’re skeptical about the existence of a Creator but not about the AGW position. Especially given the shenanigans that have come to light in recent years and the mounting skepticism within the scientific community itself. Now that Mann and his ilk are losing their privileged positions to push their eco-agenda and lord it over those who reach different conclusions, maybe we can actually increase our knowledge of the climate system.
Global warming is a myth, at least if you believe the science that is coming out of NASA. The only thing man made made about global warming is the science. According to NASA the models being used to sell this ridiculous theory are fundamentally flawed. They were actually nicer than I, I think the “climate scientist” are fundamentally flawed.
No global warming is a farse because of science. Considering the earth has evolved over BILLIONS of years, to base climate statistics on the last 200 years (since temperature readings were being recorded) is not accurate. Piers Morgan is an assh#*e no matter who his guest is.
YES!!! Bingo to YOU! I can’t stand the guy….just something about him….regardless of topic or guest that makes me start looking for the remote.
All you have to do is name the objective medical test that can be given to a person that shows that he/she is different than normal (straight) people. If you can’t name the test, then being gay is a choice. You have to prove that there is something intrinsic about them that can be measured or shows up in a test when they are newborn babies to ever have gayness be considered normal.
OK, name an objective medical test that can be given to a person that proves they have a soul. If you can’t, then it doesn’t, God doesn’t exist, and all you people are just “choosing” to be self-righteous bible-thumping jerks.
Science isn’t about proving something is true, but proving something is FALSE. Because there is no test to prove a person has a soul, does not prove they do not. Logic, such a hard thing to grasp.
Ablecynic, unfortunately I believe the wacky logic you displayed is shared by too many people.
“If you can’t show me the packaged test or proven science, I’m going to continue to abuse the earth and abuse other humans.” I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to error on the safe side and the kind side.
Mike you are right… I, for one, do choose to be a Bible-thumper. It is my lifestyle choice. I make this choice in the same manner that someone chooses to be a homosexual. I don’t attempt to prove ideas of faith to anyone who refuses to consider my premise. There simply is no point. In your case though, I am willing to accept the premise that homosexuality is genetic. The number of genes and gene combinations is finite, therefore a proof by directly checking each combination is possible. It’s not like finding prime numbers where there is always a next one. So one day, we will know absolutely the effects of each gene and, on that day, one of us will be right and one of us will be wrong.
Or people who try and prove global warming exists because it’s hot outside.
please, quit being an idiot.why would you bring uh global warming now climate change into this discussion. The hockey stick was a HOAX,,its science by CONSENSUS NOT FACT.Wonder why Gore blew up the other week??? do your research and look who just filed for BANKRUPTCY.Common sense people..liberals are allergic to it.
It reminds me even more of those making up data to prove global warming exists (political science). Just another lefty scam, when you can’t explain it pretend the science, and then say it’s too complex to really explain, i.e. gene combination. By the way, what melted the glaciers in Illinois? Were there democraps there way back then?
Why do liberals run as conservatives and govern as marxists?
It’s seventh grade science. Just because you’re too stupid to understand it doesn’t mean that it’s too difficult to explain.
Hmmm…If gays are born that way then why hasn’t evolution removed that type mof sexuality from the human race? Gays don’t reproduce as a couple. Must be a malfunction of some sort… like somekind of medical condition.
The standard response to this point is to claim that the (non-existent)genetic component(s) are recessive — they only show up every once in a while.
I don’t think you want to use “global warming” to buttress your argument. Besides it is “climate change” now and will soon enough will be “Global Cooling” again. I could believe what you are saying about gays as long as it is not also based on some type of UN IPCC report who’s predictions based on their theory have completely failed to match real world observations and they spin so much they drill their own geothermal wells with their shoes.
Hey Tim:
What other irrational sets of beliefs will you buy into? Gay gene and global warming—you can prove neither, and can rationally defend neither, yet cling to them like talismanic idols. Good grief—why not try to think critically for once?
What a ridiculous comment you made. It has been proven over and over again that global warming is not happening and that the scientists involved used fraudulent data to create it. Does the planet warm? Of course, and it cools, too. But it is a natural phenomenon that has gone on over and over again throughout it’s history. CO2 is not a dangerous gas, it is natural and plants require it. They take in CO2 and give off oxygen and we do the opposite. Hmmmm…. seems to be a pretty good balance. Quit believing people who have a political agenda to make money (i.e.; scientists who want to continue to receive government grants, Al Gore who has made over $100 million personally on the scam and yet still burns up more energy than any group of average families, etc.).
As for your question about why a person would choose a lifestyle with the negatives of homosexuality, it’s really not a good question. People make choices that have negative consequences all the time. So waht. If people made good choices the world wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in.
Boy, do you lack credibility! You show your lack of effort to do any investigation by your comment that climate scientists deny global warming because its cold outside. Instead its because there is actually negative or no forcing. Even James Hansen now admits this is so and that all climate models are wrong.
On the other hand alarmists have climed 756 different weather events prove global warming – including its warm outside and its cold outside.
http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article.aspx?id=529363
Tim W, you reduce any potential power behind your points on the issue in this article by brining in global warming and then misstating the argument of those with whom you disagree. “Global Warming Deniers” as they have been dubbed, don’t deny that global warming doesn’t exist. Of course it does, if the Earth isn’t warming, it is cooling, and has throughout its history; it has been a lot warmer in the past, it has been a lot cooler in the past, and it will be both in the future. The actual issue surrounding GW has to do with the effect of human activity on global temperatures. Compared to the effect of the sun on the Earth’s climate, the argument is that human activity is negligent in the temperature of the Earth. Compare polar ice cap increases and decreases with those on Mars and you will find a stunning correllation. A good scientist would look for factors that effect both planets and would find one: oddly enough, as The Onion recently published, a “massive star at the center of the solar system”. A poor scientist would see the same but weigh that against the possibility of losing millions of dollars of research grants and continue to spew nonsense about SUVs, cow farts, and the color of the interstate highway system.
why do people become murderers, rapists, robbers, thieves, pedophiles and perform every other anti-social behavior one can think of?
all of the above behaviors are considered despicable to ordinary people. yet, their are people who engage in these behaviors despite the behaviors making them outcasts from decent society.
just pointing out how empty the argument is, that homosexuality must be genetic, because who would deliberately invite the opprobrium such behaviors bring upon them.
Last time I checked, the behaviors you cited are examples of one human harming another. Homicide, rape, robbery, child molestation, etc. are all crimes. Not simply in the sense that they violate a statute or common law, but because they cause a non-voluntary harm to another person. They are a behavior with a perpetrator and a victim.
Homosexuality requires no behavior external to the individual. Someone can be a celibate homosexual, or a homosexual even engage in heterosexual behavior. That person is still homosexual. When the homosexual does engage in behavior, it is with another consenting homosexual adult. If it is something else, then that puts it in the category of rape, pedophilia, etc., which is not the same as homosexual sex.
Behavior is separable from identity in homosexual, whereas the other pathologies you incorrectly group with it are defined by their behavior. I am a murderer if I commit murder, not simply because I think about murder. But I am a homosexual because of how I feel and think in my mind and soul. It is not based on an action.
We originally gathered into society to create a civic order that would help protect against a life that was nasty, brutish, and short, because of things like rape, murder, etc. We do not enter into that society to create dictates about the morality of consensual sexual behavior between adults.
no we dont think global warming actually exist because the leading scientists got caught in emails being shocked that they had NO proof that it actually exists, and we can read enough to see that climate is cyclical….
and we dont have anything to gain financially from it, and we cant use it to lord over peoples lives …
please…
@bassplayer: Right on. Goood post.
Tim W ‘asks why would anyone choose this lifestyle’??? well i have to return the question why would anyone choose drug addict, alcoholic, porn addict, abuser any of those. its unbelievable but we do, we choose to try drugs. we choose to try alcohol. what’s next is why there’s all the labels your an addict. doesn’t happen to everyone but….
See the post a few above this, Al Capone (what a clever, clever name).
There is no such thing as a “gay lifestyle.” There are homosexuals, and there are homosexuals who also engage in homosexual sex. By contrast, an alcoholic is someone addicted to alcohol, a porn addict is addicted to porn, etc.
Being homosexual does not require an addiction to same-sex genital-to-genital contact. Maybe you should meet some real homosexuals. Maybe you should have met my friends Dan and Bob. They were partners for four years before Dan got prostate cancer. They basically had no sex life for the rest of their six years together until Dan’s death. Seven years later, and Bob has remained celibate. He’s still homosexual, but he’s clearly not addicted to same-sex genital-to-genital contact.
Maybe instead of sharing your life with only like-minded folks you need to expose yourself to these people you equate to porn addicts and alcoholics. Maybe your addiction is a misinformed and misplaced sense of morality.
Let’s talk about global warming then. You gotta be kidding me, Kandy Kane. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound–”global warming when it’s cold outside”. It’s true. There are no data to support that the global temperature is increasing, nor that mankind is the source of increased CO2, nor that CO2 levels have any impact on temperature. Do you ever think about what the 1900 turn of the century mankind behaviors would have done to impact global warming? Fires for heat? No enviromental control on exhaust? Modern contribution to climate change would surely be less and the global economic impact of your attitude and others who share your viewpoint will impoverish nations. Get your head screwed on straight.
Actually, if you did even a small amount of research on this, there is no argument between legitimate scientists. Global Warming is fact. The heritage foundation, who to this day try and push the “There is no correlation between smoking and cancer” studies to this day have published many reports, with many names. Legitimate scientist have repeatedly asked to have their names removed from the list. It’s manufactured dissent. As long as it seems like there isn’t complete agreement you can avoid the issue. It’s like saying, “Evolution is up in the air!” No, it’s not. Science believes one thing, the stupid believe another. If you are dumb enough to think there isn’t a consensus in the scientific community, you don’t read, or watch the news, or expose yourself to anything that might contradict your current beliefs. Challenge yourself, hey if you’re right, you’ll feel even smarter! (you’re not right, and you are dumb)
Being gay – not a choice. Ask people closeted for 30 years who leave their wives or have secret affairs. Ask the 13 year old who gets beat up at school. It’s found in nature, in at least 1500 species of animal. ( http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/07/0722_040722_gayanimal.html ) Think sharks, chimps, birds have traumatic sexual experiences as pups? Maybe they’re just the rebels of their groups, huh?
In regards to the gay gene. It’s not one gene, but a combination, and it’s not deterministic, but probabilistic – like most of our genetics. (http://www.webmd.com/sex-relationships/news/20050128/is-there-gay-gene)
“It builds on previous studies that have consistently found evidence of genetic influence on sexual orientation, but our study is the first to look at exactly where those genes are located,” says researcher Brian Mustanski, PhD, a psychologist at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Even the APA revised their “gay gene” theory…
2009:
“”There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles….”"
1998:
“”There is considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person’s sexuality.”"
Animals do things by instinct. Man can think and make choices.
LOL, whoever thinks that Man thinks and makes decisions based on thinking is missing the picture. Every second of your life, including sleeping, is based on instinct. Thinking is the very thing that has created this mess on Earth. Religions like to bypass the real issue, and promise heaven to those who play along. Every cell in your body runs on instinct. Bet you are glad you didn’t need to remind your heart to beat, or your brain to work. If people want this world to change, they better get out of their minds and back into their bodies. Try examining your “decisions” and maybe you will recognize the patterns of instinct that are built into your experience and you don’t even know it.
You mention science says it even exists in the animal kingdom. Animals operate on instinct. Pheromone levels and the instinct to breed are ABSOLUTE in the animal kingdom. Why? Because procreation is of the utmost instinctual drive in animals. During mating times in the animal kingdom, situations, due to these instincts, can cause errors in the mating attempt. I.e. the animal is too “horny” to not try to mount something. Oops… that buck mounted a male… “Well,” buck says to himself, “let’s just hop another. I MUST do this till I git-er-done.”
The reasoning behind the animal homosexuality theory can be summed up as follows:
~> Homosexual behavior is observable in animals.
~> Animal behavior is determined by their instincts.
~> Nature requires animals to follow their instincts.
~> Therefore, homosexuality is in accordance with animal nature.
~> Since man is also animal, homosexuality must also be in accordance with human nature.
So far so good? Well, this line of reasoning is unsustainable. If seemingly “homosexual” acts among animals are in accordance with animal nature, then parental killing of offspring and intra-species devouring are also in accordance with animal nature. Now, let’s bring we human animals into the equation. Are we to conclude that killing offspring and cannibalism are according to HUMAN nature? We are animals after all.
When you say homosexuality is “natural” then you are also saying filicide and cannibalism are also “natural” and “normal”.
If you try to deny this, in favor of homosexuality being natural and occurring with many animals, but we select NOT to act on other observed normal natural events like cannibalism… then those acts are therefore a “choice”. Humans “choose” NOT to act on these animal instincts. You simply PROVE homosexuality is a human choice by referencing homosexuality in the animal kingdom.
If we are only instinctive animals, then why have laws? Why build hospitals, orphanages, or prisons, for that matter? We have, for want of a better phrase, free will to exercise every day. Choices have consequences, and the last time I looked, Phillip Morris is doing pretty well financially.
Just sayin…
Are you even trying to make an argument? Does that make sense to you? By pointing out that homosexuality is an observable trait in almost all mammalian life forms proves that it’s not natural? You’re repeating something that you’ve heard so you don’t have to actually put any thought into this. That or you’re a fucking idiot. It’s a toss up!
sounds gay
Being gay is not a choice, but it is not “normal”. I’m for treating them as you would anyone else, but anyway you look at it gay is the result of some physical or emotional dysfunction.
Then by your theory child molesters are OK too…because God knows that nobody would choose to have a desire for a child and have to put up with what the fullfilment of that desire results in. Bringing animals into the argument is lame;we as humans should strive to be better than an animal. I’ve saw a dog try to screw a broom before;I guess there is a gene for that too?
Are you implying that there’s something wrong with being gay, regardless of whether it’s a choice or decision? By comparing it to Child Molestation which is a horrible crime of victimization, that’s just the impression I got from what you were saying….
I guess we don’t have anything in common with animals, and don’t have to do every disgusting thing they do. So you should stop going to the bathroom. It’s not very dignified is it? I mean, we don’t have to give in to every biological urge, do we? So just hold it in until you die.
My background is in genetics. Every time a study is done trying to discover a link between sexual orientation and genes they find either inconclusive results or slight links in situations where environment is not controlled for. My point is not to say genes have no influence over sexual orientation, it is simply to say we don’t know to what degree genes influence this behavior and to what extent environment influences sexual orientation. Even the study you site says that gene regions are being investigated, not discovered. So far the only scientific journals that regularly conclude that sexual orientation has been shown to be linked to inheritance (I’m speaking in general here, don’t bother sending me links to individual studies from other journals) are the psychology journals which for the most part conclude this because they cannot establish a predictive environment, not because they have investigated genetics. I’m tired of hearing people say that scientists agree that sexual orientation is set in stone at conception. They don’t. Most believe it is not a conscious choice either.
Some gay individuals believe “my parents didn’t want me to be gay so it can’t be environment.” That’s not how environment influences human behavioral traits: it is much more complicated than that. What is most likely is that scientists will find that gene complexes and psychosocial environment influence individuals to varying degrees based on the make up of the gene complex.
In other words, scientists do not know if sexual orientation is genetic and to what extent it may be genetic. It is highly unlikely that it is 100% but the point is they don’t know. It very well could be mostly genetic or mostly environmental for all they know.
I’m not writing this in defense of Christine O’Donnell. She does not belong in politics and was immature for walking out of the interview. I don’t personally care if homosexuality is genetic or not. I don’t think it is a conscious choice anyone makes. I’m only writing because many people believe scientists have already discovered the “gay gene” or “gay genes” and they haven’t. Bad science bugs me.
Bad science bugs you, huh? I would point out that when one looks at the sexuality of identical twins raised apart and not knowing their twin, the SCIENCE says that if one is gay, the other is 50% more likely than the general population to also be gay (Bailey and Pillard (1991)). That’s enough to conclude that there is at least a genetic component. Maybe it’s not the science but your own poor understanding of it that you find frustrating.
Really the whole homosexual animal point is so overplayed and silly. There is a deviation from the norm in every population that is meaningless. Homosexual activity among animals has no relation to Homo Sapiens and is a evolutionary dead end and every population where it is observed in under stress and threatened.
I would appreciate a detail explanation of the evolutionary benefit of homosexuality along with an explanation of the 80% to 90% rate of homosexual activity in convicted criminals if it isn’t a choice. It is simply irrational to argue a genetic pre-disposition.
Not a choice? Love it when folks use an article they refer to in order to bolster their point in the hopes that no one reads the article. No where does it refer to 1500 species that you cited yet there were several references to homosexuality just being a phase of the life cycle that you left out. It is far from the normal in the animal kingdom and let’s be realistic, if it was the norm behavior none of the animals or humans would exist since there would be no breeding population. You have the right to live your life anyway you want but you do not have the right to push the lifestyle on to everyone else. You want respect then start dealing with facts and not misrepresentations.
I think it’s funny that you think the “gay lifestyle” is being pushed down your throat. That or the gay pride parades in your area are mandatory. Homosexuality isn’t something like religion where you are forced to accept that you are surrounded by grown ups who believe in children’s stories. People who run the country and believe man doesn’t have the power to destroy the world. Scary harmful stuff, that actually is forced into all walks of culture.
Where is your proof that being gay is not a choice? You say the proof is because gays are discriminated against therefore no one would choose to be gay. Then you sight examples of closeted gays being married to women. This could also be proof that being gay is a choice, that is why it is so rare, I have heard 1% of the male population. It could be a choice, that some men hide their gay affairs from friends, family and wives the same way straight men do. You don’t think cheating on your wife with either sex is a choice?
Being gay is most likely not a choice for a smaller percentage of the gay population as they are born that way. However living a gay lifestyle is a choice for all in that community.
We all have proclivities to certain actions; some like to steal, some like to lie, some like to kill, etc. It’s upbringing that is supposed to discipline those behaviors out of us, including being queer.
Those closet queers may have been living in desperation by secret affairs back in the day BUT they were married with children and they kept it under wraps which meant 1. their genes carried on to the next generation and 2. they promoted normal family life. The gay culture we have now is destructive not only to themselves but to the children of straight families who may be on the cusp or queer.
FYI, the gay community has always assumed their numbers were 10 percent of the population or more … turns out is less than 4% including bisexual people who don’t share the same mindset as completely gay people. very small percentage.
So just because animals do something….it’s okay that humans do it? How about cannibalism….majority of carnivore animals take part in cannibalism…are humans supposed to do that too? How about incest? Majority of animals partake in incest activities…..does that mean humans are supposed to allow incest? The answer is no, why…..because humans are capable of rational thought. I’m personally pro gay marriage…but the whole “animals do it” so it’s okay if humans do it argument is idiotic. My dog eats his own crap and licks his own butt and balls….so we should all do that too I guess?
Hey idiot, I don’t think anyone has ever made the argument that it’s okay because animals do it. People call it unnatural, and then scoff when it’s pointed to in nature. Are you really so stupid that you don’t understand the issue? If so, you should just stay off internet message boards, and leave them to the literate.
Daniel:
So two articles, one from 2004 and one from 2005, are the scientific basis on which you counter 6000 years of human societal norms? If all the animals jumped off cliffs would that make humans doing it right? As the article mentions, lions sometimes eat their young. So I guess that is OK too? And I noticed that there was no specific mention of exactly what sexual activity was taking place. Were male penguins doing what male humans do? Or were they just friends, like Bert and Ernie? As to the gene theory: The results suggest that several genetic regions may influence homosexuality. Suggestions are not scientific evidence, and your statement that “it’s a combination” is a theory proposed by one of the scientists doing the study.
Believe me, if it was absolutely determined to be genetic, we’d have heard about it.
You’re grasping at straws for some reason my friend.
In ALL of us, there are tendencies. Tendencies towards Homosexuality; tendencies towards pediphilia; tendencies towards sexual abuse; tendencies towards anger leading to murder; and many, many, many more. We have choices – we can give in to our tendencies, become a overt gay, commit rape, murder, or any of a thousand other tendencies, or we can choose to accept the word of Jesus Christ that He is capable of freeing you from those tendencies.
It is a loving God that allows you to choose your path through life.
It is a just God that requires that you alone accept the responsibility for the path you have chosen.
Wow,I guess believing in god really is a mental illness, because I’ve never had any of those urges. You belong in a mental hospital. Not just for your own well being, but for those around you.
And if the idea of god weren’t funny enough, the idea of a loving god is absurd. If god were to exist, look at the world around you… It would be a hateful, petty, jealous, all powerful child.
1500 species of animals are homos? Of the 1500 you suggest, do you have figures for how many perform late term abortion on themselves?
Are you serious? You are making some pretty big assumptions (as is the article) that we know how all these animals behave under all circumstances. I have seen a male dog get an erection when playing with his male master. Does this mean he (the dog) is a homosexual/trans-species dog? I would say that he is probably just excited and possibly a little confused. Please give some thought to these articles you read before identifying them as gospel.
Can’t believe my tax dollars are paying for stuff like this. Guess Brian Mustanski has to justify his job is some way.
So you compare yourself to a dog.
Being gay is definitely a choice for some, and definitely not a choice for others. Some, I suspect, walk a line. You see, sexuality is not either/or, it’s a continuum. Granted, the continuum is heavily clustered toward the side I inhabit, the heterosexual side, but that’s the very definition of normality. I do know lesbians who are lesbian by choice, and I know a male teen making the gay choice because his gay male parents pretty much require it.
REALLY!! I have heard this montra now for a few years. The, “Why would someone choose such a life” question. That is such a ridiculous and weak argument. Why do people choose a life of crime, alcoholism, drugs, to be a liar or deceiver, on and on. Please, to say that somehow people aren’t responsible for something as basic as choosing their own sexual preferences is so sophmoric and ignorant and more importantly undermines the human experience all together. If we can say that this is a true “gene issue” then isn’t everything outside our control. It’s just another liberal excuse for bad behavior. And, yes it’s BAD, unhealthy whatever you want to call it. You even suggest it in a cowardly way when you suggest why would anyone WANT to be this way. You and people like you are simply dishonest. It’s the same as minority’s blaming whitie for their issues. Dishonest, and they know it just like you know it. We all have gay people who are friends or family members that we care about. But being dishonest and encouraging an unhealthy physical and mental lifestyle that all mankind for all time has known to be the case is not justified. Let me get you to ponder this: Even if it was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, that criminal acts and acts of violence were 100% “gene” driven. Would you still not try to curb the activity? Think about it…
I wonder why people care so much about what people do in their personal lives. Any two consenting adults should be not probed on their sexual behavior. Bondage is also dangerous and unhealthy, but technically it’s legal. Weird, but legal. But for some, it does something to their brains that make it pleasurable, more emotionally than physically. If two men or two females are happy with another, who am I (and who are you) to interfere.
And the gene thing… come on. There’s no gene for intelligence, but wide variances exist. Instead it’s both biological and sociological in nature. Don’t you think that if wasn’t at least a little bit natural that evolution (of which I’m sure you have profound things to say) would have selected against them in history? This doesn’t seem to be the case. In fact, it used to be much more prevalent and sexual preference has been compared to having a favorite football team. It’s a personal and emotional preference. That’s all. Not a choice, but a preference. Just because we don’t understand it doesn’t mean we should put it down, or legislate against it, for that matter.
How the F did global warming get brought up in this? How easily people get off track. “Ooohh shiney”
it appears this commenter agrees that homosexual behaviors are freely chosen by those who engage in them.
that means they can and some do not engage in these behaviors that are known to be extremely damaging to society.
if you do not believe that they are damaging, you might tell me how our culture has been improving with the greater acceptance of such vile sexual behaviors.
being gay is a choice, its sinful urge, just like an other self destructive habit…
its against natural design….and im sorry, i have a predisposition to do a lot of things that are against God’s rule, i just have the strength to fight it
Agreed, those sharks would have to think they just want to ram that other male shark’s arse!!
why do people always bring God into the homosexual debate? i work for a psychiatrist who happens to be gay, his boyfriend has an adopted son that he helps raise, the kid is now 14 years old and is for all intents and purposes, a genius in music and mathematics. my boss on average gets suicidal calls from 5 different people each weekend and stays up at hours past 3 am talking them out of ending their lives. saving lives and nurturing a healthy, talented kid, seems like God should be doing more of that rather than inspiring zealots who would form an anti-gay salem witch hunt Gestapo (other bad things) group if allowed to have their way
Not a single straight person on the planet would think of homosexuality as an urge. And not a single intelligent person on the planet is worried about offending god. I’ll tell you what, if god really has a problem with homosexuality he can strike me down right now… Nope nothing. Okay if god exists he should do something, ANYTHING to suggest he exists… Hmm… Still nothing, ever, in the history of man… So wait, why do you believe this is something worth worrying about? You’re an adult who is frightened of your own imaginary friend. Grow up.
David, there are only two anti-homosexual passages in the Bible. I am a Christian but I think the reason homosexuality is taken as such a serious sin is beacause with sins like lieing you ask for forgiveness and try to stop but with homosexuality you continue to do it and therefore are not forgiven. I personally think being homosexual inherited but many homosexuals do choose and a percentage have taken the gene.
@daniel — we are not animals. We are humans of higher intelligence. Please dont use the lame argument of animals being gay so people should be gay too….old, tired argument. And, there has been no proven results of any DNA or gene, or combinatino of genes to make someone gay. Geeeeezzz.
Lots of behaviors exist in the wild- non-reproductive sexual behaviors among them. However, humans have a remarkable degree of impulse-control that has allowed us to create somewhat civil societies by marginalizing or even criminalizing undesirable activities. No one would buy the argument that theft is OK because monkeys steal from each other or that statutory rape is justified because any number of animals breed at the earliest opportunity. I’m not going to make any moral judgment about homosexuality. I personally couldn’t care less (living in California, I’d waste most my life being outraged by something or other). I just want to pose a different view on the “its OK because animals do it” justification for behavior.
Nice analogy!
Terrible analogy. Theft has a victim. Homosexuality, is not undesirable, nor is it unnatural, and it is entirely without victims. So, basically, you’re an idiot.
Oh, please. Not the “animals are gay” argument again? Old, tired argument. I agree with Kandy Kane, the gay people I know, one who was married for 20 years and then came out, were severely tramatized by a family member in their very young years and up into the puberty/teen years, those periods when sexuality is developing. Thank goodness, after some time actually spent in the gay community, living their lifestyle, he wanted to come home to his wife, and they are rebuiling their marriage.
Friedpotatoes–I don’t know how old you are, but I assume you’re an adult and have realized that everyone on earth has a different experience of his or her life. If the animals are gay argument is old and tired, then the argument that all gayness is caused by a reparable trauma is even more tired. I know at least a hundred gay people and dozens very well, and none has had a traumatic experience in their youth. Not one. How many do you know?
Here’s a thought: you probably only know the one gay guy, and have decided that this must be the common experience because it fits with your worldview. It helps with his paradigm too, and probably with whatever therapy in which he is now engaged, and so maybe he’s told you that all gay people are like this. If so, he’s woefully incorrect. You might also want to keep an eye on this friend of yours, because it’s possible he has some other serious psychological issues from the traumas of his youth, well beyond being temporarily rendered gay.
Being “gay” may or may not be a choice, but being a gay with an active homosexual lifestyle is.
My wife and I personally know three men who rejected their homosexual, not bi-sexual, lifestyles, met women they eventually married and are now happily raising their families.
Whatever the issue, though, homosexuality is not “natural”; men were not constructed, physically or emotionally, to have sex with other men; the same holds true for lesbians.
a woman can go through whatever surgical process she chooses and become a “male.” But she will never be a genuine “man.” The same holds true for men who undergo so-called sex change operations; no matter how hard they try, they can only be a physical female, not a genuine “woman.”
Call me bigoted, call me prejudiced. Frankly, I don’t really care. Just don’t ask me to jump up and down, applaud and merrily validate a lifestyle that I find repugnant and against the laws of both God and nature.
MD White, no one asked you to jump up and down, validate or even approve. Just keep your judgements to yourself since you have no way of knowing how things ‘should be’ any more than anyone else.
Guess what, as it turns out, God (unlike homosexuality) is a creation of man, that people choose to believe in! Anyway, I find your lifestyle repugnant. I don’t approve. And saying, Call me a bigot… etc, doesn’t mean that you’re not a bigot, or a fat-head.
MD White, You just said everything I believe but feel pressured not to say! ‘We All Have Freedom Of Speech’ my butt!
Whoa, who asked you for validation and merry approval MDWhite?
And for what it’s worth: I regularly have sex with a man and find it very emotionally and physically satisfying because I’m a homosexual and that’s how I seem to be wired. I suppose that becoming erect and having an orgasm and ejaculating in those circumstances is just a series of unfortunate events that I wasn’t designed for but happen anyways.
If God really wanted to design away homosexual sex, he would have put the prostate somewhere else and he would have made it impossible for my nerves to be responsive (involuntarily) to male stimulation, but be completely numb to female stimulation. I’m sure you’d find that if a man tried to do something with you, you would be completely non-responsive emotionally and probably physically. I can’t control the stimulation of my nerves with my lifestyle choice. Certainly I would not have known how to do this at age 10.
‘m happy for your friends, I suppose, but please refrain from thinking anecdotal evidence proves anything.
I know several people who have gone from being gay to straight and vice versa. It is clearly a choice for many. Look at Anne Heche, Lindsey Lohan, and a large number of other celebrities who have gone both ways. I have a family member who was “gay” for her teenage years and later decided she was unhappy being gay and then got married to a man and had kids. And claiming all these people are bisexual is a cop-out.
Just because people don’t always make a conscious choice to do something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t a choice. Usually people become heterosexual because that is the soceital norm. If we lived in a society that promoted homosexuality as the norm, we’d have a lot more gay people.
And yes, I did choose to be heterosexual. When I was a about twelve years old, there was a period where I wondered if I might be gay (as any self-aware teen might wonder). After thinking about it over a period of time and not really having an answer, I decided I wouldn’t want to be gay and would be hetero.
there may be some people that are born gay, I don’t know. But there are clearly a large number of people who choose it.
Sure it’s a choice for some & not genetic. I’m a woman in my 60s & was married for 15 years to a man who was/is heterosexual. Believe me, there was nothing wrong with our sex life – our marriage ended due to other issues, but sex wasn’t 1 of them. We had sex nearly every night of our marriage & if we had had it every time that he initiated it, we couldn’t have moved. No one who goes for sex with a woman as often as he did is a homosexual. But he wound up living in a Y with lots of gays & very few straights around. He was unsuccessful with women,& after being pursued, & being very lonely, he succumbed. Now he hates what he did; it was a really bad CHOICE!
I read with great interest the two articles linked to your commentary, however, but wasn’t pursuaded by the National Geographic article that animals exhibit homosexual behavior, didn’t find any real evidence in the Gay Gene article.
Animals do all kinds of strange things that appear to be courting or mating, but this is only anecdotal speculation.
The genetic study you cited of 60% of homosexual brothers from 146 familes having the same genetic patterns on 3 chromosomes was a result only slightly better than a chance occurrance, 50% of observations reveal this pattern among non-homosexuals. Genes may account for some homosexuality but this study did not establish that fact.
The 1500 species are bisexual you Idiot. All the B S you spew comes from biased People trying to justify their existence. Just like so many Green people. Print garbage and sell a bill of goods to Idiots.
Who would choose to be gay? Who would choose to be a part of the few remaining groups that can be openly hated? Who would choose to risk the relationships with parents and siblings over a sexual option? The reality is that those that think this way are just small minded, uneducated, hate mongers that can not tolerate anyone not like them. It is really shameful to society that such ignorance is so pervasive and often permitted.
Thank you. THANK YOU.
I Love you.
You really think gay is a choice, huh? You really think teens commit suicide because they realize they’re going to have to live in a world with idiotic prejudices such as your own. Tell me all about the day that you “decided” to be straight. There wasn’t one, was there?
You don’t have to choose to be normal, but you can sure choose to act in a way that is not normal.
If you want to believe studies that say homosexuality is “natural”, that’s fine. It is my belief that, if a creature tries to procreate with one of the same gender, then There is something wrong with it. Therefore, through natural selection, the mutation will die out.
I personally have no problem with someone taking a lifestyle like this. However, if you think this is a natural, healthy behavior, you’re fooling yourself. Indeed, it may very well be emotionally healthy for the person to live that way. In those cases, I say “go for it”.
Animals have sex for procreation. Humans have sex for lots of reasons. Some animals are programmed to stay with each other, for the purpose of increasing the chances their young will survive to adulthood. Humans seek companionship and mates for similar reasons. If humans were JUST like animals, you could say being
gay is wrong.
It’s not wrong, however, it’s NOT natural. It’s a choice a person makes to help them enjoy their life.
Hey Helen, why are there homosexual animals? Before you respond, look this up. It’s a thing. Like a lot of statements I’ve seen on here, it’s clear you have no idea what you’re talking about, but for some reason are not ashamed to talk about it. When I state an opinion I like to think it’s based on something. If I don’t know a subject well enough to discuss it intelligently, I shut the fuck up. That’s advice in a roundabout way.
That’s right, there wasn’t one. That’s because being straight is the natural order of things, so there is no need to make that choice. Its the choosing to go the gay route that is unnatural. Living that lifestyle, especially at a young age, puts a lot of stress on a person — some youngsters can’t handle that added stress, hence the suicidal tendencies.
Face it, even if the vast majority have given in to the relentless shoving of the gay lifestyle down our collective throats (no pun intended), most of them still think it is unnatural if you ask them in private.
“realize they’re going to have to live in a world with idiotic prejudices such as your own.” Really, you think this is what they are thinking? I, unlike your self-important self, don’t pretend to know what is going on in their minds. I can only imagine that if, as the first commenter noted, there IS a traumatic experience in their past, this is still causing them some issues. Interesting how the GLBT community won’t let their be any serious study about past trauma – Heaven forbid any correllation be found. Besides, there is a new socially cool element to this sub-culture. If the person wasn’t cool before, what a good way to make sure they are now…and never be called out for it. I love how those who want to believe that trauma has no place in this world are the first to cry that thosw who do are causing trauma to those who live in this world! Irony, gotta love it.
Teens and Adults commit suicide for a host of vapid, silly and stupid reasons e.g. Acne, didn’t get a date, depression, self esteem issues and it is hardly a validation of the oppression of a perverse sexual expression that can be easily concealed.
No sale.
No one should have to conceal who they are. Idiot.
It is people like you that make this planet excruciatingly miserable for the rest of us. Hell is truly other people….jeesh
Like it or not, there’s more scientific evidence that people are prone to violence due to their genes than that their sexual orientation is dictated by it. Even if it is in the genes… well, if a violent offender had the “violence gene,” would we lie to ourselves that what he did was A-Okay for society?
Violence is something that effects people, like bigotry, and religion. Homosexuality does not harm you at all. In fact, why do you even care? Jackass.
Hi, while I agree with you that being gay is not a choice… I remember the day I “decided” to be straight was when I saw Dorothy Stratton in Playboy!
Jack, you are an idiot. I can’t even begin to describe the way your logic is twisted and just down right wrong.
Hey Jack, deciding to be homosexual is a choice and a product of the environment that you are raised in, there is not one shred of scientific evidence to make a case that it isn’t a choice. Idiots like you that go around promoting this sexual deviancy are part of the problem as your lack of morals lead to societal decay. You do not decide to be straight, being straight is just natural. But the left wing media and holly-weird want to make sexual deviancy (homosexuality) part of the norm so they can feel better about their lack of morals. Bottom line is if you want to be gay, go be gay, do not try and force your immoral choices down others throats and expect everyone to bow to your wishes. I do not care if you choose to be gay or not as the USA is a free country and it is your choice, but do not try to tell everyone that there is nothing immoral about choosing to be homosexual. Try being gay in Iran, if you are caught be their morality-police you disappear. Remember what the leader of Iran stated just a year or two ago, ‘There are no homosexuals in Iran’, that is because they are rounded up and then suddenly disappear. You should try and be thankful you live in the USA where homosexuality is a choice in a free society. So just say thanks and shut the hell up. Jerk.
oh really? how do you explain Chastity Bono and her girlfriend?
Two lesbians, Gay, who like women. NOW, Chastity is a “man” complete with “working” male parts, the look, facial hair. WHY then does her partner not leave to find another woman? She obviously was with Chastity because she likes women, wants to be with women. Why would a practicing lesbian, stay with a man then? Choice. Wouldn’t she rather have a “real” man rather than one put together by a medical procedure?
It’s a choice! Or is her partner now liking men? Then that would mean she never really was a lesbian to begin with, but chose to be. Anne Heche anyone…CHOICE!!!
Of bleeping course it’s a choice! Everything we do as humans is a choice. Childish and moronic to assert otherwise. Start taking responsibility for yourselves. We all own our own feelings, so stop trying to blame others for your messed up life.
Do me a favor, choose to be gay for a few months. If it’s a choice then you can sleep with men and enjoy it, right?
Jack, to answer your question directly, YES. People for eons have made bad decisions. And if you naive enough to think that most of the teen suicides have anything to do with them being gay then there’s probably no help for you. They commit suicide, in most cases because their LIE is exposed. Just as a criminal does when he is backed in a corner. He’s not offing himself because he killed 10 people, he’s doing it because he GOT CAUGHT, and he doesn’t want to face the consequences. Consequences, remember that word Jack? I mean really do ya? You really don’t want there to be any of those anymore do ya? Oh and yes I will tell you the exact day that I chose to be “straight”. It was a beautiful autumn day, I still remember the colorful leaves that were falling on the lushes green grass. You see it was the first day I ever heard there was a freakin choice! Moron, You choose all behavior daily, all the time each and every day! Here’s one for ya. Try to wrap your liberal warped consciousness around this one. Why is it every “straight” person doesn’t typically have a gay episode in their life. But most “gay” people can point to having intercourse with both sexes at some point in their lives? Let me guess because the pressure of society has such an impact on their “gay genes”. So their powerful genes couldn’t overcome a few societial pressures at a young age, really? How come this is proven the exact opposite in every other example in most young people’s lifes? In other words, when you are a child you are more susceptible than ever to the influences around you. But, the overwhelming majority of kids do not burn down houses, steal, commit crimes of any kind, hurt others, act out violently, and so on and on which is pressed upon them daily. But for some reason something as intimate as 2 people having private consensual intercourse is somehow influenced by their surroundings, as to which sex they decide to chose at first. C’mon, your more intelligent than this. READ history. It is simply the nature of man to continue to repeat it.
@Jack – the problem is that people who think being gay is a choice are probably Gay or Bisexual themselves. They need to make a choice, so from their perspective, everyone needs to make a choice. The rest of us just are naturally attracted to who we are born being attracted to.
Vince, your comments make no sense. All people who think being gay is a choice are gay? What about the proudly gay who think it is a choice? Are they really heterosexual? Your argument is the argument of a person without wisdom and/or a below average IQ.
You are “naturally attracted” to who you are attracted to largely because you were socialized to be attracted to that group. And you can change that if you want. Quit being so closed minded, if you can.
Actually, Vince presents a solid thesis that doesn’t require a high IQ to understand, though it might take some intuition.
I admit I find it funny that many people here are adamant that it must be a choice. Vince is simply suggesting that those people may have a dog in this race – Psych 101.
(Ralph p, why can’t I reply directly to your post?)
Suicide is caused by all sorts of factors. Blaming one’s sexual orientiation accounts for just a fraction of those suicides.
Having tendancies (of any kind) does NOT mean that you have to act on them, that you are powerless against them, or that the tendancies should be welcomed by society. If that were the case then just about everyone in prison should be set free. Most people who violate the law are simply acting on impulses they have. Those that don’t violate the law supress those impulses. Granted – some impulses are stronger than others. However, we all make choices every day to give into an impulse or ignore it.
Are you fine with pedophiles? Those that are attracted to little children. They also have an urge that many say can’t be repressed. Extremely high suicide rates for those with these urges. They are ostracized from the community (often violently). They are punished with prison, medication, and medical procedures.
Point is we could go down the list and the argument would be the same. A fairly high number of people would be classed as having deviant urges. Do we excuse that behavior? No. We teach that there is a right and wrong. We expect individuals to conform to those standards. We hold them accountable when they don’t.
If you think you are a victim because other people have sex in a manner you don’t agree with, you’re an idiot. If you believe that right and wrong applies to what adults do in the privacy of their own home, you’re a dangerous idiot. Either way, it’s no ones concern what your standards are, and it’s no ones responsibility to conform to your outdated ignorant ideas.
Gay teens aren’t the only teens to commit suicide. maybe the teens who CHOSE to be gay committed suicide because they realized only libtarded idiots like you are there to sympathize with them…
Okay, well we’ll start picking on kids who let on that they might be religious. We will do it so often, and be so cruel on an everyday basis that a significant portion commit suicide regularly. We’ll make it a stigma, we will beat them, often with administration throwing their hands up. They chose their beliefs, so they had it coming. When the suicide rates for christian children match those of gay children, we will see if it registers as an issue.
No..people that committ suicide are genetically 100% cowards, quitters, wussies..
read some of your comments, i give up on this country.
That is exactly correct. And it is a filthy, disgusting, despicable habit; akin to smoking.
let’s be specific about what “Gay” sex is about: men place their penises in other men’s rectums. Then, the put the feces, blood, and semen-smeared penis in their mouth. Pardon me while I vomit…
There is nothing “normal” in that “lifestyle”; it is a deep-seated mental disturbance for which treatement is available, if only the US medical community were no so utterly cowed into silence by violent, fascist, Gay extremists who should, frankly, be rounded up and either forcibly treated or permanently sequesterd at re-education camps.
You are a very sad and angry person, please get some help. I can’t imagine the struggle you are going through that you would spew such awful hateful things towards people who are not doing anything to hurt you in your personal life.
I feel sorry for your offspring if you have any. They will not know what tolerance is, I hope they reach out on their own and find the true meaning compassion.
There was this one guy back in the 40′s, I believe from Germany that would love you.
And who was that, Ryan82? The vast majority of people the entire planet over who were born in Germany and alive in the 40s, including immigrants to other countries? Since that entire group of German-born people alive in the 40s would be almost entirely against homosexuality in any sort of “out of the closet” sense, if not entirely.
Yes, we all know who you’re alluding to. Godwin’s Law. Look it up, you childish bigot. Yes, that’s right. YOU and yours are the bigots here – there are some anti-homosexual bigots, true, but there are also a lot of sensible, moral people that Leftist BIGOTS simply CALL “homophobes” and the like without real justification.
Wow, you must spend a whole lot of time thinking about what gay people do in private. Actually, since most of what you said is a gross exaggeration, it’s quite clear you spend a lot of time fantasizing about this.
I’ll make you a deal, we’ll “cure” all bigots of religion, and then see if homosexuality is still a “problem.”
Also, most people would rather be happy than “normal.” You’re clearly gay, and I would be upset too if I had gone to some “re-education” camp and found out that a lot of gay people were just being happy and gay, while I was forced to fuck some cow in a loveless marriage to be “normal” It’s okay, you’re gay, and it’s not too late to do something about it. You clearly want to be fucked in the ass, and then suck the blood and semen and fecal matter off of the offending member. I mean, you were SO specific, there is no way that was an accident. It would be like saying all straight people like to piss in each others mouths and assholes. Some straight people do that, so all of them must, right? Seems to be the “logic” you are using.
I beg to differ. A tendency to homosexuality is most definitely genetic (although a person chooses whether to give in to it). Just like alcoholism and pedaephilia.
Being gay isn’t a choice. It is as unique as a fingerprint. while science hasn’t found a gay gene, you can find differences between straight and gay persons. Some are tangible others aren’t. As for the idea that both sides would want to find a gay gene, that’s disingenuous as well. While some gays would just to say “ah ha!” i’m sure the majority would not want it to be found. consider this: you find something that you don’t like hidden within your RNA. Since you’ve found it, and you don’t want it, why not get rid of it? That goes the same for the god gene. Those are my 2 cents
)
To Kandy Kane, if being gay is a choice, when did you make the decision to be heterosexual? Can you remember where you were or what you were doing?
Dear ma’am,
Think deeply about your words. Judging by your post, you have had very limited interactions with gay people. Should you choose to remove the veil of hate that shrouds your logic, you would realize that homosexuality is very much not a choice. The lifestyle, the bigotry, and the daily battles that confront members in the gay community are so great that it is inconceivable that a person would choose such a “life-style.” Members of the gay community are regular, hardworking people–not the lewd and lascivious pleasure-chasers you seem to allude to.
As for the tea party, I believe the motto for non-whites is “keep em intoxicated, keep em uneducated, and give em felonies.”
If you think being gay is a choice, you must think you could choose to be gay. I couldn’t choose to be gay, but if that’s your thing, fine. Good job naming yourself after an Andy Warhol transvestite, by the way.
How would you explain animals who exhibit homosexual behavior? Is it a choice for them? You are clearly a retard.
Don’t change the subject, the point of this whole article is he was being rude, not about gay or anything else. It is blatantly obvious he is being rude (PERIOD) and as a “reporter” should treat everyone with the respect they deserve.
Obviously, he knows he was wrong which is why he asked her to come back. HIS FAULT, not hers.
So being gay is a choice because they haven’t found the gene for it? What about all the other things they haven’t found a gene for yet? By that logic, if someone grows to only 4 feet tall, that’s because they chose to unless they find the “height gene”? Also, you’re basing your argument on the gay friends and family you’ve spoken to? That’s all the scientific proof you need? Do yourself a favor and don’t talk about science in any more arguments because it’s clear your mind is made up more from talking to your gay cousin and your preconceived notions than any scientific research. …And no, I’m not gay.
Right on!! But to answer your question; yes, the Tea Party has now replaced Bush as the guilty party in EVERYTHING. BTW, it was interesting for me to see that the brain actually changes in response to gay activity.. so the chicken/egg question in this case has been established.
Being gay is a choice? Did you choose to be straight? Because if so I have news for you, that means you were tempted to be gay but made the choice to be straight which means *drum roll*…. YOU ARE GAY! No one chooses who they are sexually attracted to.
Great comment Kandy Kane. Piers sucks almost as bad at interviewing as he does co-hosting Americas Got Talent. The guy is a pompous ass. If that’s his act he is good at it unfortunately for him I dont think its an act. He goes hand in hand with our narcissist and chief Obomi. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
The gay gene is called Sin.
You are absolutely right, Shawn.
Not quite, the gay gene might be reality. Sin was a concept that smart people gave up centuries ago. There is right and wrong, wrong being when you harm someone else. Sin, the crime against god? It’s like committing a crime against Micky Mouse.
Kandy Kane. You are an idiot! People are born gay….scientific proof or not. Its not a choice. Do you think people all of a sudden think “wow…I would live to take it up the a&*! Or I will never have babies unless I adopt! Why is it that most gay men are feminine and lesbians are masculine. Do you think there is a handbook on this? I’m a (R) and a political party is irrelevant to this subject. Ignorance is harmful especially to you!
Maybe gay men act feminine and lesbians act masculine because they are trying to fit into their gay subculture?
Mike, tell me this, many lesbians are not masculine, but they usually have a masculine partner. So does that mean they really want a man? If they are attracted to women, why would they go after a manly woman rather than a femine woman? Your arguments don’t hold water.
And I find it hilarious you say science doesn’t need to prove something that you want to think. Then you say ignorance is harmful? Not having proof of your strongly held beliefs is ignorance.
How about we interview Nancy Pigolise and ask her about we have to pass the bill so we know what’s in it….and the fact that the Dem’s in Congress and Senate exempied themselves from the BEST HEALTH CARE COVERAGE PROGRAM…doesn’t our elected officials deserve the best! And how many of the business in CA are also exempted including Nancy’s husband busines…just saying!!! before you go name calling look on your own side that would be nice call your own out first. Or how about Harry Reid calling DE Senator his PET!!! Can we ask that question of him is Reid gay afraid to come out????
Right on Gay is purely choice and thoes who elect to live this life style will eventually burn in hell just as Sodom and Gomora.
Why would someone be afraid of threat from a fiction book?
I agree. I was once kicked out of a class in collage because the teacher was having a discussion about people being born gay. She whole hearted believed that they were. She asked the class what they thought and most of the students agreed with her. I was one that didn’t. I stated that if being gay was a natural thing, then what if we put all the gay men on one island and all the hetros on another and come back in a hundred years and see which island had life. Thats when I was asked to leave.
School is usually a place of learning. What you said had nothing to do with the topic at hand, and it was bigoted and ignorant. If you really think that’s a valid argument, you must be incredibly dumb. Did you have your mom type this for you?
Hurray for Christine. Put that egotistical puke in his spot. She isn’t running for office and he invited her to talk about her book then tryed to slam her against the rocks. I only wish she had walked out sooner. He has been clearly exposed for the sleaze butt he is.
In so far as bieng Queer. It is a choice one makes. God gave the right to choose for our selves, but one must remember there is a Judgment Day, These people will burn in hell just a they did in Sodom and Gomora.
Wow, you’re dumb. Do you really think your belief in an ancient book of fiction, written and edited by man is something you can enforce? Seriously, homosexuality is a reality. God, the devil, judgement day, these are the delusions of the ignorant. Have you ever read about the bible? Not read the bible, but read ABOUT the bible. Because it’s no mystery that’s it’s false. It takes only a cursory examination. People who can devote their life to a false ideal without ever putting thought into it are mentally ill. Doesn’t the bible teach tolerance? Love thy neighbor, all that jazz? So you didn’t even read your fiction correctly. You seriously make me sick.
Dumb. It’s not a “choice”. Whoever you spoke with that was “sexually” messed with has bigger issues to deal with. I was never ever sexually messed with and I can assure you I didn’t decide to like guys. From the age of 6 years old I can remember looking at other boys and being drawn to them. Not in a sexual way (obviously), but I was more drawn to boys than girls. As I got older, I realized I was attracted to guys and not girls. Gay people are born the way they are, same for bi-sexual people, straight people, and so on. Anyway, enough about this. I wanted to comment because I thought your comment was down right stupid and uneducated.
Thats dumb when I was 6 I liked hanging out with boys to, its becase boys play the same games as other boys. War games, GI Joe, ramping bikes, not barbie or playing house, but I did play doctor with a few girls. Now that I’m grown I have to agree with Louis form F.G. Vingel intercourse is the bees knees
Wow, horribly misspelled Family Guy quotes, always a sign of intelligence!
If there is a gay gene, and they are born that way…that means if you have gay s3x but aren’t genetically gay, then you are a closeted heteros3xual. I wonder how many closeted heteros3xuals there are in the “gay” community… If they do find the gene… I wonder how many “gay” people will go to confirm their genetic trait for minority status purposes will find they don’t have it…
@Kandy Kane: Do you really think being sexually molested as a child is a choice?
The Tea Party will stop receiving blame and critcism when they stop doing stupid zany things.
I’m not sure where you found such friends or where you got your research from. Gay people have had as many traumatic instances in their childhood as everyone else. Did you interview straight people in your research and compare the numbers? I was assaulted twice many years apart. I’m straight.
If there is no gay gene why are both identical twins always the same orientation?
You are using anecdotal evidence to prove a point–thus, invalid.
Really? Did you choose to be straight?
Just because one believes something does not make that something true.
Will somebody please say, when interviewed by media morons: “That’s an interesting question, why do you ask?” If their reply doesn’t make sense say: “Next question please.”
A simple answer would have been, “It’s addressed in your book, the one you are here being interviewed about.” So, not really something that doesn’t make sense, it’s just that she’s an unpleasant generally embarrassing person, and she was trying her hardest to seem like someone else.
” or found it more exciting to be with whom they choose”?? They find it more exciting to be with the same sex because they were born GAY!!!!
Let’s pretend for a second being gay is a choice. So what? Being gay hurts a lot less people than trying to enforce your belief in fairy tales on others. While gays have never tried to “recruit” anyone, I am positive your cult does. I am sure you teach your children about your imaginary friend, and from you they are learning bigotry and hatred. I hope they turn out gay.
Hi Dear,
If being gay is a choice then any straight person can choose to be gay as well. If this is what you believe, please show me statistical evidence. As a gay man who attempted suicide three times over the course of the past 20 year because I was desperately (and failingly) trying to convert myself to heterosexuality I am so sick to death of being told by narcissistic heterosexual people what being gay is. I don’t know why you think gay people are making this up! Because it tickles your fancy? Because it protects your godless “religious views” to believe that God created gay people? I don’t get it, and I am tuning out this conversation from here on in. There is a degree of cognitive dissonance and deeply willful ignorance that is no match for me. Good luck to you and your ilk.
Okay two points:
1) On being gay being a choice or not: While to the best of my current knowledge scientists have NOT found the gene in humans that determines sexual orientation, they HAVE mapped, isolated and in some cases manipulated the gene (most notably in fruit flies) and HAVE determined that sexual orientation is genetic in nature. Will I firmly say that is 100% the case, no because I do believe there are also some environmental factors that can play into that in rare cases.
2) On if he was being rude or not: The very fact that she is a politician is more than enough reason to ask her what views she has on current topics, but also on topics that she did actually talk about in the book. Now while I have not read the book, she did state that the topic was mentioned in the book and therefore the questions were in no way rude. If every interview was only exactly what the interviewee wanted to be discussed then what is the point of the interview in the first place, it might as well just be a monologue. Actually all she managed to do was show that not only is she unwilling to stand up and speak about what she believes, but also showed her inexperience.
Hey slick stick. What are YOUR view’s on gay marriage? Are you a homosexual? Are you a back door boy, limie? Is that what you people across the lake do for a happy dance? I have an idea. Get the fudge’ home cause we already kicked your brit a$$ long ago. How about a little descent treatment for our ladies, even if you don’t treat your Brit women that way. GO HOME you tick cause you are NOt funny.
Or you can become my lil’Bilch if ya want.
You are no gentleman, nor a man. Really, what are ya?
Don’t get what your trying to say? He wasn’t rude he asked her question which she didn’t want to answer so she tried to duck dodge and hide by saying lets talk about my book and he asked her if she wrote about gay marraige in her book and she said yes so he asked her again…
Why is that a problem? Because he didn’t let her slip away on a question?
She was there to talk about her book, not be quizzed on stupid questions. When they invite President Obama to talk about his health care law, they don’t spend their time hammering him about the drug use he describes in his autobiography, do they? Hm…
ah yes but if you try and hold the dope in chief to answering a question or heaven forbid ask it twice, you’re a racist and a bigot – GFY
He ‘sandbagged’ her, you moron!
She didn’t duck, dodge, or hide. Her answer was actually logically coherent: her agenda has to do with fiscal and Constitutional policy, which is also the only platform of the Tea Party (the other aspect of her book). What does gay marriage have to do with O’Donnell? Nothing, other than Piers trying to detract from her actual message. She’s not even running for an office or position where her personal beliefs would have an effect on legislation. She proved the question irrelevant, and Piers (who I usually enjoy watching), being the arrogant self-entitled Brit that he is, seemed quite upset that he was rebuffed by someone he obviously looks down upon. Instead of letting it go as a more mature interviewer would have done, he asked her if Bachmann should repeal a long-standing military policy (that I happen to disagree with). Really? What does O’Donnell have to do with Bachmann? Are they running together? What does O’Donnell have to do with Don’t Ask Don’t Tell? Is she running for PotUS? Congress?
Piers really blew it on this one. If he wanted to embarrass her, which he was clearly trying to do, he should have kept the scope limited to issues that actually relate to O’Donnell. Here’s some advice for next time, Piers: if her message and book are about fiscal responsibility, and she’s had a ridiculous financial history, exploit that instead of a completely non-related issue that any logical person will see as irrelevant to the person being interviewed.
Have been in a cave. She answered ALL of those questions over and over when she ran for office. Wake up. It’s like asking Clinton about Lewinski today. What do you think he would do. Move on.
What does your idiotic comment have to do with the topic at hand, you abominable dumba$$?? Just because she’s a Republican/Tea Partier (whatever the hell you people call yourselves now a days, you are ridiculous!), you think she’s justified in her answers?? She talks about a subject in her book, and you expect the media not to address it?? What kind of imbeciles are you?? That’s like cooking the meal, and not even telling anyone the food’s ready… If she didn’t want to talk about that in her little book tour, she shouldn’t even had mentioned the topics in the book in the first place! So, she is in no position to call Piers rude, because she got herself in that position. It’s clear to me and the rest of the logically thinking world, that she was told what tow rite about in her book. Just like every other politician, she decided to write a book, so she can get some money out of it, and keep reminding people what an idiot she really is. Sweet Michael Jackson’s gloves!
I would never expect the media not to cover something SHE wrote about – she a “republican/tea pariter” but if she had been farking Obama or ANYONE on the left, they would need NO explanatation of of ANYthing. We don’t vet those on the left. I am sure someone like her already feels uncomfortable going into a rigged race, knowing she’s going to be the whipping girl. She should never have gone if she wasn’t prepared to talk about it all fully…and I haven’t even watched the video. But, I have trouble with shows that pretend to be for entertainment and try to be hyper-political and then, again, hide behind comedy…Jon Stewart anyone?
I would have bet that you prefer the bottom, you disgusting pee pee toucher.
scapegoat republicans all you want to…
president obama won in a landslide in california the same day gay marraige struck down
whites actually supported legalization
blacks and hispanics voted it down
even the president has done nothing to move the issue forward…
There’s a simple explanation for his post. Drudge linked to the site, so all the angry closeted republican gays are here to spew their self denying bile.
I didn’t realize American ladies were so helpless that they had to be taken care of by fools like yourself!
You WANT Piers to be your “Bitch”? – I guess we know who is the gay in this conversation.
He was absolutely right in asking her those questions. In typical TEABAGGER fashion, she only wants to answer the questions that she wants asked. It is time for the american people wake and realize that these ignorant TEABAGGERS are incapable of having a reasonable discusiion about their beleifs. Is it because they are too stupid or is it that they know that their opinions represent only a small minority of simple minded homophobes and racists? It is time for the majority of the american people stand and tell these TOOLS that we need to move forward, not backward as these IDIOTS want to take us.
I am so sick of the GOP double standard in this country. You can hound Obama for years about his birth certificate, but it’s not fair to ask Sarah Palin what newspapers she reads. O’Donnell preaches ignorance and hatred, but don’t ask her about it. Grow a fucking spine, and if you have ignorant or medieval beliefs at least let the voting public know about them.
She’s a public figure doing an interview. If she is so fragile and stupid as to need protection, she should probably find a job where she doesn’t have to deal with people.
I was 12 went to bed and woke up the next morning attracted to men that is it.. Normal family …. discussion over … except it destroyed my life ….
Gay behavior – definitely a choice. This is why gay men ask straight men for sex, because they know anyone can make that choice once or 100,000 times. If you are straight like I am, how many times did the adult gay people you have known or come into contact with in your life, ask you for sex? For me, those requests started when I was just a kid, a very young kid. How about with you? They request it as a choice we can make, and they are right, and we all know it is really a choice. All of us do because pure unbridled lust is no respecter of gender, humanity, or matter. If you really believe the genes are controlling it, no worries, all the debate is just genes going at it.
He’s British, ergo he’s rude.
Piers-
She was clearly under the appropriate expectation that she was there to talk about the salient issues of her book. Instead, you chose the “gotcha” sensationalistic issues that were not predominant in her book. You were trying to pick the issues that you thought would trip her up, and were important to your progressive worldview.
You were not rude. You were however disrespectful and antagonistic. You may think you need to be that way to get good ratings, but it’s a turn off to me.
Regards,
Todd
Bigotry from a public figure is not considered “salient”? She put herself into the public eye, it was certainly not thrust upon her. If Bill Clinton’s private life is open for the public, her stated opinions are certainly not off the table. Idiot.
Wack! I’ve voted Republican Since Reagan but these tea party chicks should stay home and bake pies. Bachman, palin, and this bird are totally goofy and embarrassing to the party
Dear Piers Morgan – please STFU – thank you, the American People!
Hey idiot, you don’t speak for America. If she showed up to do an interview, and her book was full of bigoted bullshit, he had every right to ask. Some would say it was his responsibility as a journalist to ask. (and they would be right.)
Christine Odonnell did the right thing…
Piers Morgan is an ass.
No wonder no one watches CNN anymore…
If it was for internet references to the crap that happens on CNN, i wouldn’t know they still existed.
I don’t know anyone that even watches CNN anymore.
CNN went down the tubes the day Ted Turner sold it.
Wait! Piers Morgan has a talk show???
The only reason I heard about this is because it was a link on a reputable news source’s website…I don’t think the 6 people who watched this guys show last night really give a crap…nor do I.
Shouldn’t Morgan be back in England facing charges like the rest of his kind?
Morgan is an ASS.
I came here from a link on the Drudgereport. The biggest two question I have are; why would she go on CNN, and, has anyone seen the ratings? Nobody is watch their cra* so she was basically walking out during “dead air” anyway.
Rude and crude!! I don’t care about her thoughts on these things. Just maybe she had an idea about creating JOBS!!!
It is something to see how liberals are the only one allowed to have an opinion or thought. Can anyone on here show me absolute truth that be gay born is what happens? So does that mean, if someone does something horribly wrong they can say they were born that way?
I think it is the way people raise their children. Don’t we learn and retain at an early early age. Can’t that be a reflection of who we are going to be? Oh NOOOO, it can’t be! It has to be only one way in liberals eyes to promote a SINGLE agenda! You liberals say you are open minded but refuse to listen to other theories. It is your way or no way. You people sound like 5 year olds regurgitating what you have been fed for years. You want the truth, then go get it.
Liberals don’t have “theories” on a lot of these issues. Scientist (people smarter than you) do research and report their findings. On most of these issues (homosexuality, evolution, global warming) Once the smart people come to a conclusion, we listen. Just because you or even a lot of dumb people have a belief, doesn’t mean it should be taken seriously, or that there is any real debate. Stupid people believe in stupid things. The rest of us try to learn.
I PROMISE not to be rude okay?
okay….
so… what’s your take on strap-ons?
oh wf?!
That would be a good comparison, if she had wrote a book about strap-ons. Oh, and if she had a lot of outspoken opinions on strap-ons that she had been very vocal about in the past. Then that would be quite a clever statement.
piers morgan must be gay he is realy stuck on the gay marriage he maybe a closet queen
Piers Morgan has been very rude in many of his interviews lately, it’s about time someone has walked out
Qyuestion for Piers:
” will you admit to being STUCK ON STUPID”????
Yeah – Piers was rude, in addition, wierd facial expressions. How many times does she have to say she doesn’t want to answer his question until he stops. RUDE.
AND, of course he classifies her as a troublemaker because he didn’t get what he wanted. My kids stopped whinning when they reack their teen years. Piers – Rude AND a WHINER.
Yeah, Right? Piers has some weird facial expressions.
I find him unwatchable. He seems to be trying to compete with the person, as if in a debate, instead of interviewing them.
The constant promotion of him by CNN is irritating to say the least.
Good for her! She did exactly the right thing. It would of been comical to if a few had the balls to stand up to the late great Tim Russert in the same way. He was the best.
The ratings speak for themselves. Piers Morgan is a dope. this kind of harrasment and blatant bias against anything moral or religious, anything conservative, and anything anti left really is portrayed as evil. real true traditional journalism is DEAD!
Walking off the show is not an option.
If conservatives want any airtime whatsoever, they’ll have to learn to navigate the minefield. Its not because TV Producers are political, but rather because they need controversy to keep their viewers pined to the tube. If this is what they want, give it to them. Ask the interviewer a question when put in a tough spotl have you ever asked nancy Pelozi this, or harry Ried that? A good host won’t let you get away with this technique for long, but you can damage control the questions easily enough and with a little finese put these types of questions behind you. Another show isn’t going to follow the same tired routine, because the audience will take it as a re-run of sorts and ratings will suffer.
Piers,
I think you’re rude
David Gregory quizzed Michele Bachmann relentlessly on gays as if she was running for president of the gay caucus or the Log Cabin organization. With our nation on the ropes Gregory was only concerned about gays.
Right on.. How did this page get from the story to B S? Hurray for Christine. Put that egotistical puke in his spot. She isn’t running for office and he invited her to talk about he r book then trued to slam her against the rocks. I only wish she had walked out sooner. He has been clearly exposed for the sleaze butt he is.
The GLBT’s are ready to pounce on anyone who’s not praying to the gay-god. And Piers…what is your schtick? Do just want to make people angry? If so, fine. You were a bully, and to bring up one loaded question after another speaks to the poorly perceived need of your audience.
She is a mental lightweight to say the least. Her views are radical and outside the mainstream. Hate and intolerance is not something we should teach our children. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus correct? Did not Jesus preach LOVE????? Today’s “Christians” are anything but. Look in the mirror. Judge thyself, not your neighbors. She should stick to “FAUX NEWS”.
Piers is rude; worse than Oreilley; just rude with a smile instead of a smirk
I don’t know what’s more offensive – the views of the Tea Party, or their inability to say their views directly confronted
Your ignorance explains why you’re anonymous.
In contrast to you, who boldly proclaims your identity as “RickS.” Way to show them who’s boss.
Yup any group that wants the government to spend less of out children’s money, wants less government control over our lives & wants to pay less taxes has to be insane.
Those freakin’ Tea Parties are so stupid – how do we not want more government control over our lives?
Russia here we come
Right. “Rick S” is such a specific self-identification, by contrast.
just like Ricardo S.
Imposter!!!
Agreed.
Agree perfectly with you RickS….definitely understand why Lefty Anonymous won’t give a name…Anon person is part of the problem, not part of the solution! That’s our point!
Your anonymity on the internet isn’t defined by whether you post “anonymously” or with your name. Also, posting anonymously doesn’t invalidate his or her argument. True anonymity is accomplished through proxies and the like, not your username.
“I’m just praying for the end of time, so I can end my time with you!” Not you Marilyn, lol.
Gay marriage isn’t a tea party issue. The tea party is just concerned with over spending.
Yeah, right, tell that to Michelle Bachmann and her husband.
One person’s statements can’t be attributed to a whole party’s stance. If that’s the case, the lady captured on tv saying that Obama will pay her mortgage during the 08 campaign is the voice of Obama’s administration? I believe “no”.
Remove the “Democrat”, “Liberal”, “Republican” and “Conservative” goggles and you might see things more clearly.
The tea party isn’t exactly a party, it is a state of mind, state of being that alot of Americans both “dems” and the GOP are absolutely tired of over spending and taxes period. I really don’t care what Michelle Bachman, Rick Perry or Mitt Romney say because their philosophies and rhetoric from the past don’t even being to fit into what that “tea party” stands for. They are just rhino republicans that yes do sound like crazed nuts to alot of the more liberal minded Aemricans. They represent no change. Gay marriage second of all is not a federal matter, it is to be left up to the states to decide what they want. Republicans pounce on the tea party because they know it is a growing voice in this country. Unfortunately alot of GOP rhinos who say they are conservative yet raise taxes and love propagating the idea of war. Bottom line is both sides of the political spectrum suck in this country.
P.S. by the way I posted my name in its entirety because I still do believe in Freedom in this country and am not afraid to voice my opinions.
Small Government, Better America
Ron Paul 2012
always deflecting… so third grade…
That’s up to the Bachmann family and has NOTHING to do with the Tea Party. Contrary to what the left claims, the Tea Party IS a grassroots movement not led by any politician or power broker. Bachmann may share some of its views but she cannot claim owernship to it. Don’t see why that’s so hard for libs to grasp. Deliberate misrepresentation of its opponents is the hallmark of the left.
Was that supposed to be an intelligent comment? What the heck does your stupid talking point purposeful-misinterpretation of Bachmann’s words have to do with anything? What, if Bachmann said it, it MUST be “Tea Party doctrine?” You’re an idiot.
What, are you upset that she is actually and truly married?… to a man?
That sounds very petty. And as the Tea Party has no “head or leader” how is it that she IS the Tea Party?
Tea Party individuals may or may not care for gay relationships or any other social issues, but that is now what they are about… they are about freedom and for government pulling its head of its a$$.
Before you dismiss this post, please truly think and consider what I am about to say.
Imagine if you will, an America run completely by government, it would be just like the Middle East where gays are killed, any form of dissent on any topic is met with the same. The only difference is instead of religion being the basis for all sentences carried out either by government or the populace, it will be derived from one simple question “When is I gettin my check?”
Until people stand up and do for themselves this has a serious chance of happening.
Also before you knock me, we were on welfare and my family almost froze to death in the winter due to no electricity or fuel oil, we huddled around a kerosene heater to just make it. I took responsibility, worked hard and now make a good living… and *I* did it, not anyone else.
/stepping off soap box.
Have a nice day
Well Jack, they have their own beliefs which are a religious issue, not one directly involved with the Tea Party. Michelle Bachmann and her husband do not represent the Tea Parties belief system. They may share the same opinions on some issues but they dont share all the same opinions. And the Tea Party does not have vocal opinions on gay marriage.
Good point. Gay people have as much right to be upset about Government spending as anyone else and focusing on antiquated ideas of gay versus straight bigotry only tends to minimize the effectiveness of the Tea Party Movement.
I agree with you and as a member of Taxed Enough Already and going to many many meetings, I have never once heard the subject of Gay rights or homosexuality ever brought up in any context.
The truth is, most of us simply do not care what Gays do in their private lives as long as they stop burning Churches, threatening people that disagree with 100% of their views and simply leave us alone and stop telling our children they are not normal if they are not gay.
It’s your body, you have a right to do what you want with it, but please just leave people alone about it.
I still think it’s a disgrace that in the Uk you can get sex change ops free on the national health (dis)service.
The TEA Party only has a few formal planks on the platform which pretty well boils down to limited, transparent, accountable constitutional government. Wow, what an offensive idea that the government should follow its own rules! A balanced budget?! Wow, talk about dangerous. I would admit that she is NOT the best representative of the TEA party, but if you want to hang her around our collective neck…I give you Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee, Nanci Pelosi, Harry Reid, etc. Shining examples of ignorance and hipocrazy…not a typo. I used to be liberal but grew tired of being wrong. Intellectual honesty forced me to examine my views. My advice to you, buy a mirror.
righton…right on…
Very well said. Name calling and attempting to embarrass conservatives is the trade mark of the liberal press. If they would go after the Maxine Waters, Pelosi, Reid, and Sheila Jackson Lees of he world, you could really understand the difference between logic and emotion.
Well stated…and why is this so hard for the majority of people to understand? The original “Tea Party” (not a party per se, just a gathering of people) cared only about government spending. For these people to say that Bachman, etc., are Tea Party is to ignore what obviously happened. Again, why is this so hard to understand?
Extremely well said!
Could NOT be said any better.
The Tea Party is more concerned with putting in place a Christian government than anything else. I’ve been to several different Tea Party meetings and that’s what I saw. I’m all about government shrinking and a balanced budget. I do feel pretty strongly about being free from others religions though. They pick and choose what parts of the constitution work for them. Just as much as every other party.
no.. what is most offensive is the President trying to silence institutions like Standard and Poors for what they did… and all Liberals lining up to spew their venom…
Amen.
LIBERAL VITRIOL AND HATE toward the real Americans ………… its the obama sycophant way
Real Americans? May the founders turn in their graves. Your blinding selfishness speaks of grandiose ignorance, whatever your political affiliation. Astonishing ignorance!
Standard & Poors released their downgrade “insider” information early to brothers on Wall Street so they could “short” the market -a “Christmas Present” slap in the face for President Obama and the remaining middle class “small” investors. It is a certainty that Wall Street would make money hand over fist in transaction “fees” in a disrupted market. Investigation of the early release of this insider information should take place along with the one going on concerning CDO rating.
You’re joking, right?
S & P told us months ago that a downgrade was likely, if they didd’t deal with the deficit. Like wise every conservative economist was raising the alert, No “inside info” required.
I even told my friends to dump the US dollar the minute Obama was elected.
Only those who are conned by the Obama loving left wing media failed to see it coming. Or those who believe the government can spend its way to prosperity.
Really – and who were Obama’s biggest campaign contributors?
You do realize that the “wall Street Fat Cats” gave more money to Obama and are more democrat than republican don’t you?
It’s one of the dirty little secrets!
The other one is that Dr. King was a republican. You never hear that one either because it hurts the rhetoric.
People on here calling everyone else stupid and names. What is “stupid” and “ignorant” is that we all are pawns in Washingtons games of power.
Evidence of that? How have the black people of this country been better off since Obama came into power? Poor people for that matter? People thought all their bills would be paid (remember the woman from Tampa?) No one corrected her though in the media did they? Thats because Chris Matthews had too much of a tingle running up his leg.
All very sad!
No, see, the Lefty talking point is that the S&P witch hunt – I mean “investigation” – started BEFORE any of this downgrade business. You’re saying it’s ABOUT the downgrade. What’s your source? Your own rear end?
Or a petulant brit who continues to display bad manners and, instead of asking about … oh i don’t know, POLICY, pesters someone like a drooling jr. high school boy, and continues to ask inconsequential questions. oh wait. i forgot – it’s piers morgan. nuff said.
It’s the religious right, sir, that has made gay marriage an issue of policy. You’re correct. It shouldn’t be a policy but as long as self-righteous hacks like O’Donnell, pushing her book but not wanting to discuss it, who have made it one.
That’s just ignorant. The right didn’t give one hoot what you did in your own private life. The gay special interest groups are the ones that kept cramming it down the throats of the people claiming that if you didn’t agree with them you were homophobic. So then if you keep the same logic (not that it is logical at all) if gays don’t agree with my straight lifestyle then they are straightophobic and should be accused of hate crimes also if they speak out against me. No sir, Christine was not the one that made it an issue.
Gay marriage issue was pushed by the religious right???
wow, that’s some pretty delusional BS right there!
wake up and smell the coffee, the vast majority of “conservatives” these days are fiscal conservatives that see little value in social legilslation to try and get people to do what YOU want them to instead of letting them lives their freakin lives!
but go ahead, let’s hear another one of those “but they want to take us back to the middle ages” comments!
No, the Islamists wants to take your apologetic @$$ to the middle ages, and you are dhim enough to let them do it in the name of fairness and political correctness!
PC proving over and over again that people who believe in it dont deserve the freedom or security that is the HALLMARK of the USA!
Actually it was courts that made gay marriage a question of policy.
No Jack. Most people couldn’t care less what others do in their bedrooms. It’s the attempt to get most others to “accept” the gay lifestyle—including calling it a marriage and allowing for “rights” that confer mortal status upon homoseuxal acts. This garbage that gays feel “bad”—boo-hooo-hoo—because the rest of us don’t accept them is a cover for shoving their behaviors in our faces, including trying to feed it to our kids in public schools. If you want to be gay—fine by me. Just shut up about it and everybody will be content—but that’s not your way, is it? Gotta have my “approval.” Grow up.
I have no problem with a host pushing a question during an interview but there comes a time during an interview to move on. Piers did not see it. He actually “seemed” confused however, after watching him for awhile…I believe that he was acting rude because he has no respect for the person he was interviewing. In fact, he often makes childish, sneering, personal comments about anyone who does not agree with his views. THAT is what makes him a horrible host who has horrible ratings in his time slot.
If it shouldnt be a policy, then WHY are the gays so adamant in getting gay marriage legalized, and forcing school policy that it should be taught in the schools?
First,
the treatment of that woman was horrible during her campaign. She has every right to not submit herself to questioning if she believes she is not being treated respectfully. She is a free person! I am a Democrat and belong to a tea party grassroots group. The focus is on supporting those who believe in upholding the Constitution and supporting more individual freedom through a smaller centralized goverment “Taxed enough already?”
Is it so bad to expect our government to first spend our money wisely and then if there is a need ask us? It would be so much more thoughtful. Really!
She agreed to go on the show and be interviewed about her book. She was treated “respectfully.” She was acting like a childish twit (because she IS a childish twit).
Teabaggers want something for nothing. And they’re supported by Corporate Communists.
It’s not about being “disenfranchised.” If you don’t agree with their fringe right christian terrorist agenda, you’re roundly drummed out of the discussion.
I’d rather be an American.
No, Lib-tards would rather be a Socialist.
You don’t seem to realize we want no taxation without representation. Do you even know what the term “Tea Party” came from? Try reading a book instead of your free government check, so don’t tell us about wanting something for nothing.
How about the fringe left that support two-bit dictators and has brought financial ruin to Europe and, now, to the US of A? How about the disaster Labour was and now Obama, Reid, and Pelosi are? How about the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco? How about the US / Mexico border? How about the trillions big government has spent on welfare since the Great Society programs and welfare has become worse than ever (more Americans and illegals on welfare than they are Americans supporting them)? How about the hypocrisy of attacking S&P now when, apparently, S&P had issues before? Why does Obam claim that he has visited 58 States and the MSM is mute? Imagine any Republican uttering such a thing… And, and, and….
You are ridiculous. The only people that “druim” anyone down are the liberal freaks; shouting, chanting, banging drums, throwing sparkle.
It’s liberal leftifts that hated the World Trade Center and before 9/11/01 always made prose about tearing them down. Screw you liberals…you’re the enemy and as violent and closeminded as most of the Islamic world.
And both hateful Islamic terrorists and liberals are in agreement when it comes to the United States; “it must be destroyed from within or without”.
Go to hell liberals. OIne day, the right wing WILL begin a slaughter. What have they to loose? You already call them Nazis
keep drinking the kool-aid Scott, and straighten your tinfoil hat out………..you look ridiculous.
Childish Twit? Calling the Tea Party “Teabaggers” isn’t name calling a little childish? I don’t get the liberal mindset, that lower taxes and less government is a right wing viewpoint. I would think that should be an “American” viewpoint.
By you comments, I would say that you are anti-american.
Sorry for the misspelling of “your”. I am not a “member” of the Tea Party or any party. I just think that it’s impossible to borrow your way out of debt. It’s an oxymoron.
“Christian terrorist”…”Teabaggers”…”Corporate Communists”…and “childish twit.” Goodness, Scott, perhaps you shouldn’t stay up so late anymore, the lack of sleep is preventing oxygen to get to your brain.
I presume you are a liberal and, by extension, an Obama supporter. Didn’t he ask the country to lower the emotional quotient on political rhetoric? Weren’t you taught the proper liberal mantra against generalizing stereotypes onto an entire group of people? Do you not know the difference between major political philosophies? Yet, strangely, here you are (a)disobeying your political messiah & calling people terrible names, (b) lumping various groups into one broad definition, and (c) confusing capitalism with the political philosophy that destroys free markets. To top it off, you use a homosexual slur to attack a group of people (that’s 2 strikes already: the slur and the generalization) that haven’t made the gay-agenda part of their rallying cry – save for the rights of states to determine for themselves whether to recognize gay marriage which can be directly linked to their argument that we should return to an adherence to our Constitution.
If this is the best you have, perhaps you should start going to bed around 9:00 instead of staying up long past the time that your brain actually works.
And your vulgar name calling is going to convince so many people that your position is the correct one… Yeah, that’s the ticket.
The opinion of someone who uses the term “teabaggers” is worth less than nothing on most any topic, but particularly on the topic of just what is “respectful” what is “acting like a childish twist” (and what “IS” one).
Corporate Communist? Wow now there’s a stretch, now Capitalists are
communists who would have thought……only a liberal.
Teabaggers, how original!! Corporate communist??? Now that’s original, although void of any semblance of reality. “Christian terrorist agenda??? Another asinine idea. Where do you clowns get this garbage? The rude part was when you do interviews their are guidelines of what will be discussed and Piers violated those guidelines pure and simple. Example, President Clinton has and interview about fundraising in Haiti and the first question is “Have you seen Monica Lewinsky lately? Did you have sex with her on the Presidential seal? Did you drug her? Taser her? Beat her? Did you let Hillary watch? Only difference, the former President would whip his ass and then walk out.
the host morgan is nothing more than a liberal political HACK. his ratings prove it you IDIOT.
Wow, you sure are angry.
“Teabaggers”? Come on. You can do better than that.
“Bill” said it best, above, when he states, “The TEA Party only has a few formal planks on the platform which pretty well boils down to limited, transparent, accountable constitutional government”
Tea Partiers could care less about social issues.
“Fringe, right christian terrorist agenda”? I don’t see how you get these ridiculous adjectives for describing the Tea Party philosophy. See the above comment from “Bill” and try some meditation, or better yet, medication, for your anger management.
Scott: You’d rather be an American that won’t allow a different point of view than your own I guess. Seems to me that it is the Tea Party that gets roundly drummed out of the discussion. How well and respectfully have conservatives and Republicans and “tea-baggers” been treated by CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NYTimes, NPR, and all the rest of the “mainstream” media? Obama hacks routinely diss Fox because they dare to have liberals AND conservatives on the same shows. How dare you! The balance has to be 5 liberals to 1 conservative. That’s the rule! Oh, and the conservative has to be a bloomin idiot. Liberals can’t stand facts and people with a different opinion. They must be silenced.
Funny thing though. Conservatives seem to be winning…
Scott you sure drank the liberal cool-aid with all the “NAME CALLING” “TALKING POINTS”. Teabaggers, fringe right, christian terrorist, corporate communist ???????? Wow
What’s with the “Teabagger” comment ? Did the original poster may derogatory comments about your causes ? Didn’t think so. The problem with douchebags like you is you think everything is fairplay, until it happens to your cause or candidate. Yeah, that’s what I thought.
Corporate Communists ? Who do you think Obama has given the bulk of the breaks / exemptions to with regards to healthcare reform ? Can you say I-N-S-U-R-A-N-C-E C-O-M-P-A-N-I-E-S and U-N-I-O-N-S ?
You’re pathetic . . . I know that you believe that you understand what you think I said, BUT I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!
Actually; I havent been to a church except for a wedding, wake, christening, etc….ever! I guess that would make me very much not a religious person. I could care less about a persons sexual likes and dislikes…none of my buisness! And yet I find myself more aligned to TEA party then any other! You know…not wanting govt to spend more then they bring in (balanced budget), not giving my tax money to someone who does not desrve it…etc. (expecting someone on unemployment to actually look for a job or help out the community if they have been on it for an extended time…)Not wanting a huge govt…having several departments doing the same thing is called government waste! I had a huge problem with GW’s 500 billion dollar deficits….imagine my problem with 1.5 trillion deficits…I guess this makes me a “right wing, gun toting (dont own one) bible hugging (never read it) extremist!”
You are a seriously confused American. The Tea Party ideology is simply looking to lower the government impact on our lives, including its spending. BTW, the Tea Party has zero religious influence. This is 100% about government.
Zero religious influence??????? WHAT? They want to ban abortion and want a federal amendement banning gay marriage. pulleesse.
I don’t condone the name-calling, but your views are dead on. The Tea Party is largely hypocritical and generally embarrassing as an American.
I’m all for fiscal responsibility, but stagnating the debt limit talks and creating an environment ripe for a debt downgrade (thus making it more expensive to service our existing debt) is like quitting your job because gas is too expensive. It’s dumb and irrational. Not to mention that jeopardizing America’s ability to pay it’s obligations is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, and thusly direcly contradictory to their core “beliefs.” Thank you, Tea Party. We were in the toilet already, and you just pulled the flush lever. Good job.
I see Janet Napolitano and her boss brainwashed you.
You think the Tea Party people want something for nothing? We are the ones who keep saying that there is no free lunch and that we cannot spend money we don’t have. You think it is the fringe that wants responsibility? I am still trying to understand the concept of Corporate Communism…..sounds like an oxymoron to me.
Scott,I find it interesting that while you claim to “rather be an American”, your political view is rather unAmerican and your statement rather ignorant. I say unAmerican because you seem to believe that a cornerstone of our country, Capitalism , is somehow a bad thing, and ignorant by your name calling and lack of knowledge of the TeaParty. I dont know one other *Partier who wants something for nothing, that is left overwhelmingly to the Democratic voter and party.
your choice of descriptive terms negates your point.
Scott, who informed you about ‘Tea Party Views”? Why are you calling these fellow Americans ‘Teabaggers’. What makes Tea Party activists ‘terrorists’? You’re just another rather uniformed, non-intellectual member of the liberal flock of sheeple, who has no problem calling people disgusting names, and linking their concerns to ‘terrorist’ machinations. I would guess that your either really young, or borderline insane.
By the way, I don’t like O’Donnell… I think she’s a cartoonish version of what being part of the Tea Party is.. kinda like Biden is the Elmer Fudd of the Dem establishment. I don’t like anyone who makes their religion part of their political decision-making or campaigning. Don’t like Bachmann or Perry for the same reason. There are many of us who have conservative/libertarian ideals who aren’t religious, who believe in equal rights, and who aren’t slaves to corporate-think.
People like you are moronic for believing such things, and that’s the main reason the libs will lose it all next year.
Just because someone declares themselves a party or is born in America doesn’t mean they are deserving of an IOTA of my respect. The values of the tea party are bigoted and discriminatory, and in some cases totally nuts. The rhetoric is, to my mind, insulting and low level crazy.
The “libs” might lose it all next year, or the following term but they’ll get it back and lose it over and over again in a never ending tug of war, because unfortunately we are connected in this sick symbosis called the United States of America. There are no winners. It’s really sad, and people are so myopic, counterintuitive and undereducated in this country that there is nothing to be done. It is a cesspool of political and social corruption.
“I’d rather be an American.”
Well, Scott, you have a ways to go to being an American. Your post demonstrates hate, bigotry, intolerance, stereotypes, ad hominem, and all in only 6 sentences. But none of that matters because it is ok to insult members of a non-protected victim group. Have any independant thoughts come out of your gray matter lately? Way to go!
a person who uses a highschool sexual reference to identify a group of political opponents calling someone else childish
seems like a move of a leftist douchebag to me
see…not too cool is it douchebag?
Again, namecalling is all you have. The conservatives do not resort to namecalling without having facts to back up the stuff.
As opposed to you, who refers to a large, genuine, non-religious group of Americans as “teabaggers” supported by “corporate communists” who want “something for nothing”? Your first response is to refer to them with derogation, your second is to associate them with a group that donates large amounts of money to the opposite party, your third is to accuse them of being progressive. Your response was well-thought out and not childish at all.
Let’s address this illogical “something for nothing” statement. What “something” do they want for “nothing,” exactly? That’s quite literally progressivism (their opposition). Tea party policy is literally getting rid of the liberal “something for nothing” mentality that pervades our society.
Nice name calling there! Are you part of the new civil exchanged as proposed by President Obama?
For those who study history, they’ll “get” the “tea party” and their issues. They are a back to basics, back to constitution group.
If some of their members also happen to have beliefs other than the mainline tea party groups – so be it. I can be a Democrat OR Republican, but happen to believe in things contrary to the group of which I’m a member. That’s my right. I may be a Catholic, but disagree with the Pope on a number of things. In America, at least so far, that’s still a right. For Piers Morgan – he’s rude everywhere he goes. Doesn’t matter. He likes to taunt and bully people. If you watched him in other settings – AGT, Apprentice, etc. – that’s his specialty. He’s on TV and popular because he’s abrasive, otherwise he’s got no real claim to fame. Even he can’t stick to the issues at hand. I don’t care if you are a witch or gay or whatever – it’s how you live with others and do your work and interact.
So funny – no matter where you go, if folks have no facts or valid arguments, they call names. Teabaggers this, radicals that, etc. – so what would you call the FOUNDERS of this country, and those who WROTE the very rules you and I now live by, eh?
Those of little IQ show it by 5 year old name calling tactics rather than logical thought processes.
When will people realize that the Tea Party is not just the few who take the spotlight, but rather every disenfranchised citizen who is sick and tired of career politicians acting in the own greedy self-interests and actively against the Constitution of the United States of America? BTW … the strange personal views of a Tea Party politician does not invalidate the Tea Party. Do Anthony Weiner, Charles Rangel, and all the rest on both sides of the aisle invalidate the Republican and Democrat parties? Keep insulting the Tea Party – it will only drive more regular Americans to the polls to shut up the idiot ideologues.
And which “views of the Tea Party” are offensive? Respecting the Constitution? Embracing freedom from overgrown and oppressive government? Tell us … articulate and coherent thought, if possible.
Bravo
The tea party is defined by whom they let define them. You say you are not defined by these people? By the Bachmann’s and the Palin’s? These people are ignorant, and their agenda doesn’t work? How ironic that you tout a balanced budget when the last balanced budget was acheived by a democrat. A democrat! The party the Tea Party VOWS to disagree with, all policy and commonsense aside! Taxation is a necessary form of government. To not tax and never spend… it’s absolutely idiotic.
The Tea Party is a threat to the liberal establishment and therefore it must be marginalized vilified destroyed in whatever way possible.
We liberals cannot tolerate any view but our own we mus not allow any one else to air their view point of view Achtun! However we liberals are compassionate, understanding, tolerant and friendly as long as you co operate with us and see only our side of the issue.
All together now…..let us bow ti the dictates of our fearless leader Barrack Husien Obama, All other points of view are wrong any
one who has a difference of opinion is a racist (no Question). The very definition of a racist is “one who disagrees with Obama” I trust the American people will be smart enough to turf the democrats out in 2012, they are ruining this otherwise great country. I was never aware of it before but I must be a racist since I do not agree with Obama and his socialist ideals. If that’s what a racist is, I’m happy to wear the badge.
Chickenman,
People DO realize these truths and it scares the politicians so they have to convince themselves and their minions that WE are radical.
At its core, the Tea Party movement is rife with contradiction, incoherence and a willful contempt for facts or reason. It is but a parody of the legitimate movements for which American democracy has historically been held in such high regard. It is, in fact, the latest installment in quite another American tradition: the exploitation of frustrated, desperate, and susceptible people by monied interests and profiteers. The incoherence is partly demonstrated, he said, by teapartiers demanding tax cuts from a president (Obama) and a party (Democratic) that gave us at least one of the biggest tax cuts ever. The stimulus bill passed last year contained a $282 billion cut in taxes, bigger than the first Bush tax cut in 2001 ($174 billion) and the second round of Bush tax cuts in 2004 and 2005 ($231 billion) over the same two-year period. To compound the incoherence teabaggers demand tax cuts and deficit reduction simultaneously. Not even the most zealous supply-siders in the Republican Party have a plan for making that a reality, nor do they even pretend they do, as far as I know. Their worldview is largely (and the comments here attest to this) black and white, and they have a resentment of ANY ambiguity in the social order — which explains the movement’s fear of gays and immigrants – who they believe are a threat to our social order.
To those people here who are arguing that conservative are loathe to name calling and obloquy, may tea party member show up at rallies with guns, or signs depicting President Obama as Hitler, Stalin, or a turbaned bomber. Nice, huh?
The Tea Partiers’ America is a richly imagined nation, one in which a suitably shrunken government, its general uselessness exposed to all, answers directly to ruggedly individualistic citizens who carve out decent livings solely by dint of hard work and entrepreneurial spirit, scorning government handouts, and who are free of crippling taxes and regulations. Everybody speaks English in this America, preferably only English, and prays regularly. Their children don’t need abortions because they practise abstinence until they enter into a heterosexual marriage, often after military service, during which they get to go into combat abroad against America’s myriad enemies. A Tea Party America would already be whacking the Iranians, slapping North Korea around and straightening out the Pakistanis. All of this would be financed by waves of tax cuts here at home because, as everybody knows, tax cuts provoke such wild economic growth that governments actually wind up richer…
Need I continue?
Thanks for listening.
Andrew
You’re so sadly mistaken it should be a crime. The Tea Party, unlike some presidents, has no problem expressing themselves about what they feel is wrong with a bloated, overreaching government. It is really very simple (and that is probably what threw you); you only spend what you take in, you only do what the constitution allows, and the country comes before political correctness or a political agenda.
Maybe you should marry that British Piece of sh*t, same sex I’m sure.He preps her with what he wants to talk about and then sideswipes her. If that was your liberal socialist president (whose entire cabinet , only 8% have business experience, you would sh*t your panties. Why be anonymous, your names is chicken sh*t liberal. Hows that chane, and yes we can doing in your state, Tardo?
Try to imagine that the rest of America outside of liberal lala-land, has personal views apart from political ones and what they would consider “official positions”.
I dont care what social beliefs any person has, if they are true to Tea Party principles, and not just a Romney-come-lately, their personal beliefs about gay marriage, this or that, is wholly irrelevant because the whole premise of the Tea Party is that the federal government needs to vigorously kept within its predefined appropriate role, and that the tipping point for enough is enough is long behind us.
This is what liberals cant grasp, they think the federal government is OBLIGED to weigh in on every matter, to legislate in any situation where a disagreement exists. NO. Read the Constitution for a change.
I couldnt care less about this O’Donnell broad, I’m not from Delaware, not my business if Delaware folks are loons or sharp as tacks. But if she is actually a true part of the Tea Party movement, then she is a welcome presence, dopey or otherwise.
Oh, we’re not going away. As long as there are politicians trying to get their hand in my pocket we’ll be vocal. As long as the life of a defenseless child in the womb is less valuable than convicted killers, we’ll be talking. Until the DOJ prosecutes and investigates hate crimes equally we’ll be talking. Until Obama admits to the baldfaced lies he’s been feeding the willful ignoramuses who worship at his feet, we’ll be passing the word on. The Tea Party’s principles are the guidelines set forth by the founders of this country that gives every American the right to be as stupid as they want. Count up all the times Obama has lied to you and reconcile with reality. Get off the Koolaid.
willwood – You are right on the mark !
When you were interviewing for your last job did anyone ask you what your position is on gay marriage?
Balderdash, she’s doing a book tour. What’s in her book is in play. Do you do book tours? You might want to mention that in a job interview. This is her job genius.
To attempt to conflate Tea Party fiscal issues with social issues regarding gay marriage is nonsense.
Christine is a private citizen and can pick and choose what she wants to talk about. Gay marriage questions are BORING when clearly the American people overwhelmingly do not support gay marriage and confirm this each and every time its been on the ballot. What the people find INTERESTING is how to solve the country’s fiscal mess.
The Tea Party is ANTI-IDEOLOGUE and it’s that stance which gives it a bad reputation with the morons, idiots and democrats [but I repeat myself]. The Tea Party wants to bring America back to sanity. If that is hard for you to imagine, then perhaps you can’t imagine anything at all.
What’s ‘offensive’ is your intolerance of any viewpoint that does not line up with your own. The most vile, intolerant people are you lefties that just cannot stand to accept the fact that not everyone lives your Godless existence or holds you Godless views or participates in your Godless acts. If you think you are right in doing what you do then what WE think should not matter to you or bother you. Just the very fact that you get so upset with the Tea Party is proof that you know we are right and you are wrong and that is something you don’t want to face.
Your supposing there is a “god,” when EVERYONE knows that “belief” is nothing more than a THEORY.
Tea baggers like her (and you) are nothing but Timothy McVeigh wannabes.
Timothy McVeigh was an athiest like you. Nice try.
McVeigh’s was a churchoing Catholic who later declared himself an agnostic, yet took the Catholic sacrament “Anointing of the Sick” before his execution.
So he was a little mixed up about his religious beliefs. That’s the correct answer. It has shades of grey – not something a typical conservative can comprehend – they only see in black and white.
Regarding McVeigh – what’s certain is this: he was registered Republican.
Spoken like a true Obama throne-sniffer, Scott. Now do as your mother says and take the garbage out.
PS You might consider getting your “news” from sources other than MSNBC.
Every time I read or hear a guy calling us “teabaggers,” I have to conclude that the man has actually engaged in that behavior, or is just so dumb as not to know what the Taxed Enough Already Party is all about. Whatever it is, be proud of who you are!
Scott –
That’s completely illogical. “EVERYONE knows that ‘belief’ is nothing more than a theory”? The supposition that God exists is a theory, not a “belief.” Belief and faith are individual levels of CONFIDENCE in a theory.
Your statement illustrates, if true, that you have problems with both belief AND theory. Did you know: EVOLUTION is a theory, RELATIVITY is a theory, GLOBAL WARMING is a theory and require as much faith and belief than does a belief in God. Even observation and logic require a faith that what we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell are based in reality at all.
Based on your distaste for both beliefs and theories, what, EXACTLY, do you base your life on? Don’t try to sound smart by becoming philosophical without knowing a little about philosophy. I recommend two courses for you: logic and the philosophy of science.
Or, if this was just a case of being argumentative for argument’s sake, bad move.
Cheers
Scott,
You are so far to the left that you are almost swinging back right. Referring to people as “teabaggers” is childish and immature but then again so is most of the party that you support.
Any business that spends more than it makes shuts down due to lack of funds. The United States is a business ran by a man who has never done anything but get elected to offices.
Scott, your anger towards conservative americans, not terrorist christians, tells those of that read it just how out of touch with reality the liberal based left is. You need to get yourself checked into a reality rehab and learn about that past countries that have done what we are doing right now with all this socialistic idealogy and see how there advanced. Oh wait they didn’t, there children were forced to work in fields and factories. Only the rich elite were allowed to educate their children. Go study HISTORY and see what happens to countries taking the steps we are currently in.
We need a change and quickly.
I guess we’ll all find out about the existence of God one day …won’t we?
God is a theory? Evolution is a theory too, but its still forced down our children’s throats everyday at school. And, you really like the name teabagger dont you? Insulting and name calling always shows a person has not intelligence to rationally and maturely argue a point.
Thank you thank you thank you for your post,Cynthia. So true!
you are a moron!
Scott, that is.
You flaming liberals are in constant mindless denial fog! Conservative views are confronted, distorted and lied about everyday by all liberals and the liberal biased media which masks itself these days as journalism!!! Reality is you folks don’t care about the country or your fellow citizens,, ,its all about you and your way,, damn the law,, damn our founding principles!!! “If it feels good,, do it!!” that should be your motto! You all are the ones that avoid truth and wouldn’t know it if it rose up and bit you in the a++! You want cradle to grave care from the govt. and you want govt to make all your decisions in life rather than have some personal responsibility and accountability for your own actions! Most liberals don’t even know a tea party member, other than what you see idiots like Piers Morgan or Chris Matthews spew on TV! You can’t even study history and see that the direction you all want the country to go is over the cliff! Its really sad that you all are sucked into this progressive socialistic ideology and think that it will lead to utopia! Do some research,, study history! It has never worked anywhere it has been tried and it will not work here in America! But you keep lashing out and calling good citizens names and judge them before you even know anything about them,, thats what makes your obviously pathetic miserable daily lives feel better!
Right on! Right on! God Speed 11/6/2012!
Piers Morgan is a hack, plain and simple. Maybe if he had stuck to actual issues, instead of trash-seeking, there could’ve been a very good debate. But he’d rather be a little school boy, snickering at words like, “masturbation”, “gay”, or “witchcraft”. He pretty much sums up the liberal mentality. If anything, this was a view into his psyche’, not hers.
They’re all human secularist………….if it feels good….DO IT.
That’s their mantra.
Tenate is EXACTLY right! I was stuck in the mire of liberalism until I started doing some research on my own. Though it sucked big time to admit it, I had to face facts that I had been oh so wrong for 20 years! I was lazy and took what I was told by the alphabet “news” outlets as complete and factual. Since my reawakening in 2008 my views have been “fundamentally transformed.” I am a TEA party participant. I refuse to further contribute to the downfall of these United States of America by turning away from the original principles. ATTN: LIBERALS! IF YOU BELIEVE THAT THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD DICTATE HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE, THAT’S FINE WITH ME. JUST DO IT IN SOME OTHER COUNTRY. God bless the USA.
I agree completely with you tenate!
It’s quite clear you know nothing about the Tea Party because our candidates state their views and actual plans for this country all the time. Are you too busy cashing free checks from the government?
At least we don’t have to read a teleprompter.
Hmmm… The Tea Party wants less taxes, smaller government, and a balanced budget. I am trying to understand what is offensive about that? The liberal media has you believing the Tea Party is full of ignorant people. Get the facts before you jump on the wagon. You could find out you are headed in the wrong direction.
Excuse me, no. That is what the Tea Baggers SAY they want. They are offensive because they go into town hall meetings with guns strapped on strutting around screaming so that no one else can talk. They don’t care about health care and most of them believe that their taxes have gone up (which they haven’t.) They are exemplified by the people with the signs that say “Get your government hands off my Medi Care.” A bunch of frightened, upset people who don’t even really know what they’re frightened or upset about.
The tea party isn’t anti-gay or anything like that. They have had political leaders like Michelle Bachman who is anti gay, and Sarah Palin who is anti gay-marriage but not anti-gay. As a gay male, I wouldn’t vote for Michelle Bachman given a choice – although Obama isn’t much of a choice either. I would vote for Sarah Palin though!
The tea party is all about smaller government, lower taxes and reining in the corruption and overspending in government. It’s not a social movement, it’s not a racist movement, it’s none of those things.
Like most Libertarians I think the government should get out of “marriages” all together, and for the purpose of government and benefits etc everything for gays and straights should be legal civil unions. Marriages would then be performed by churches but wouldn’t be legally binding in any way – just an “in the eyes of God” thing for religious people.
Typical leftist liberal bullshit, when you are losing the argument, resort to attacks.
The biggest haters seem to be the anti-tea party bigots who assume so many completely irrelevant sterotypes are true.Piers is a rude man with questionable ethics who lost one news gig due to his own actions.O’Donnell may not be your favorite as a politician, but she doesn’t seem to suffer the snippy little personal quirks of Morgan. If ‘newspeople’ like Morgan aren’t willing to ask the hard questions or do the research on the background of democratic leaders,it’s not too surprising that a conservative treated rudely would have a problem with Morgan’s snide manner toward them.
The Tea Party has nothing to do with gay marriage. It’s not part of any Tea Party platform I’ve read, unless one construes that the Tea Party’s belief in smaller government and lower taxes would end government involvement in marriage at all.
Tea Party = small government, low taxes. That’s all.
Here’s a fact for you: California voters voted to disallow gay marriage (before liberal courts rejected the legislation). Do you think that 50%+ of Californians are Tea Party members? If you do, you’re an idiot.
Why can’t you separate these issues in your small mind?
You liberals have voted for the liberal agenda for 50 years and for 50 years you keep whining that the poor keep getting poorer. At that same time, George Soros and other billion/millionaires/limo-liberals are getting richer. Maybe your voting for the wrong party. You keep hitting your hand with a hammer and expect the pain to get better the more you do it. You get what you vote for and you got poorer. If the Tea Party went away today and we increased taxes today, in your little mind, do you really think you wont be poorer a year from now and even 50 years from now. Keep voting liberal, you must love being poor.
Really, this justifies an attack on the Tea Party? You apparently have no clue about what that group believes in. The left-wing media seems to be obsessed with attacking Republican conservative women (see Bachmann on Meet the Press last Sunday) about their views on homosexuality. They seem to think they have “hit a nerve” which will damage conservatives. To the other commentators- this is not about the question whether the gay lifestyle is a choice or not! It is about “gottcha” journalism. Bringing up comments that politicans made 5-10 years ago is not dissimilar to castigating President Obama for smoking dope as a college student. Of course, the media is not going after him (as he is the Messiah), but their transparent attacks on conservatives are tiresome and unwarranted.
You mean just like the Prevaricator-in-Chief?
The only accurate part of your comment was when you admitted that you “don’t know”. It is good that you finally realize what the rest of us already kmow.
how dare us actually want to cut spending and have fair taxation!
and to be proud of our country
the tea party is a fiscal movement…
@Anonymous: Please tell us, what are the views of the Tea Party? SInce you find them offensive, please explain whats offensive about them? You dont know, you’ve just heard on CNN and HLN and MSNBC that the TEA party is full of racists and haters and thats all you want to know.
With her book sales not setting the world on fire, and her favorability low among conservatives (since the loss), do you think the walk-off was forced or staged a bit to boost her street cred with the right?
NO!!!!
She is not favored by the Republican establishment, which is the check pants repubics. She is favored by the real conservatives and the tea party constituents.
You mean anti-democratic far fringe right theocratic terrorists.
Scott. No. I mean the majority of everyday good folks who get up everyday and do their job. We stand readyto defend the Constitution. We hope to do it with the vote, but if the government tries to disarm us, declare martial law, or any number of other acts we will react. It will not be peaceful. Take a look at The Oath Keepers web site. YYou will get some idea of who most of us are. Law abiding until pushed into a corner.
What the hell are you talking about? Martial law, being disarmed? What conspiracy theorist are you listening to, none of that is happening except in your own head. Please actually look at the issues before spouting a bunch of nonsense to justify violence.
Scott, you are describing the Democrats. Their theocracy has themselves as God.
Wow, all bigots are alike. It’s so funny because I emailed another bigoted tea partier asking her directly why she was against gay marriage and gays in general and she preceded to answer back not addressing the question at hand at all.
These bigots know they don’t have a leg to stand on, so they avoid explaining themselves because they know they don’t make any sense at all.
I hope they all rot in hell – oh wait, I don’t believe in that – well, I hope the worst karma for them. Anyone who discriminates is evil.
great post.
It’s ‘proceeded’.
no true ‘tea partier’ who is a constitutionalists can be against a state allowing gay marriage. The movement was hijack but evangelicals nuts in its infancy, and never recovered.
to say your comment lacks logic assumes you actually understand logic. the astounding lack of common sense on the left is both scary and amusing. is it unfair that gay people cannot marry each other? of course, but it doesn’t then follow that society should then rip asunder an institution that is stabilizing to the future AND that generation upon generation of humanity has determined is the way to perpetuate society. and don’t come back and say “well marriages fail at 50% so straight people can’t get it right”. THAT has NOTHING to do with the argument – just because people fail at it doesn’t mean that we should then open it up to MORE people to FAIL AT IT. good god, it’s obvious, isn’t it?
Not true at all. You want it to be true, but it is not. Now who is narrow-minded?
So, you moron. “Anyone who discriminates is evil”.
So, you discriminate against anyone who you view as discriminating?
You are completely NUTS!
You say you don’t believe in Hell? You Will!
I find the exact opposite. Tea party folks are not bigots. That’s the label that the addled liberals want to put on them because the Tea Party is a threat to their agenda. The Tea Party isn’t about being racist or discriminatory. It’s about making the government accountable to the people. It’s folks like you that want to muddy up the water with silly questions that have no bearing on the actual movement.
yes EXACTLY. the founders didn’t look at political PARTIES when forming the new government, they looked at political POWER, i.e., how much power would the new government have over the people. on the one hand there was the tyranny of the monarch and on the other, pure anarchy. the founders, in all their flawed humanity, determined that if there should be an error in balance that it should be in favor of THE PEOPLE. their goal was to find the fair middle where the PEOPLE exercised the most power over their government. read: The 5000 Year Leap.
funny, a bigot slamming a bigot. you have just as many “bigoted” view as she does, they just do not align with yours. Why not try to center your argument around the positive and lead by example. Educating the ignorant on issues converts more than getting in their face and pushing buttons that only reinforce the negative when you can be discussing common ground. Example: we all like safe streets, clean air and water, good education for our children, etc. and yes, I happen to be gay.
Lev. 18:22, “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”1
Lev. 20:13, “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them”
…. and if it told you to jump from a bridge, you would do that too!
Copy and paste.
Let’s not forget, the bible was written by men and in the context of their world at that time.
The bible is irrelevant to today’s world. What Jesus said is most important and relevant. Love they neighbor, give to the poor, love, support help each other.
Nobody seems to be heeding those words anymore.
>>> Let’s not forget, the bible was written by men and in the context of their world at that time.
Realize if you make this claim about the Bible, you are also classifying all other literature written before 100 AD as being only context-driven, as well as implying anything after that doesn’t have to be.
>> The bible is irrelevant to today’s world.
As is all the other literature written before 100 AD, according to your logic.
>> What Jesus said is most important and relevant. Love they neighbor, give to the poor, love, support help each other.
So, wait, The Bible IS and ISN’T relevant? How do you know how to pick and choose the relevant parts from the irrelevant parts? Is it only the parts that fit with what you already believe? What makes the Bible difficult to people are the parts that make them uncomfortable because it shines a light on what they’re dong wrong. You must also accept everything else Jesus said: he is God, he is the Savior, he is the only way that people can be saved from God’s judgement–are you prepared to accept those as well as the “warm fuzzy” teachings?
>> Nobody seems to be heeding those words anymore
It’s hard to take your advice seriously when you uphold the book you also depricate. You want people to heed words of Jesus, but not the words of Moses (and Paul–he talks about Homosexuality in Romans 2). What’s amazing, if you’re open to reading it, is the Bible is a collection of 66 books written by 40 authors over thousands of years and yet has one harmoneous message: There is a God who is perfect; is is man who rebels against God (that means you and me) and deserves to be wiped out; it is God who provides a way for a man to be forgiven (if a man chooses); it is God who will see justice served to those who continue to rebel. Jesus is that Way to be forgiven. You just have to ask Him with honesty, and your life will change. Will you?
Hi creepy person,
Think back to a moment in your life before your authoritarian parents indoctrinated you into your “beliefs” — before you were handed a book and told to eradicate any impulse or thought that didn’t conform to some literal dogmatic interpretation of what was in the handbook. Who was that person and where did he go? Was there anything quirky or interesting or human or life-affirming in that person? The world is in a completely psychotic place right now.
Why is an “enlightened atheist” reading the bible?
Man i hope you don’t eat shellfish. You are fucked.
Hope you don’t eat shellfish, you’d be screwed.
If we banned everything in Leviticus which is labeled ‘an abomination’, we would never eat shellfish, or wear wool, among many other abominations. But that’s what believing in the bible is really all about, isn’t it… picking and choosing from myriad topics from which you can stand on your supposed high ground and criticize others? The new testament is much more enlightened… I thought the most important thing is what Jesus’ would say or do?
And no, I’m not a lib…. just someone trying to raise the bar in discussing the issues of our times, without constantly bringing religion into the mix.
I stand with the TEA Party. And I will directly address the issue.
I don’t care, it’s a non-issue.
If you’re an adult the government has no business regulating your personal life. WE run government, government does not run US.
End of story as to hate-filled gay bashing TEA Party people.
But that is the beginning of the story.
Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. It goes against the created order of God. He created Adam and then made a woman. This is what God has ordained and it is what is right. Unlike other sins, homosexuality has a severe judgment administered by God Himself. This judgment is simple: They are given over to their passions. That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins (Romans 1:18ff). As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance and trusting in Jesus. Without Jesus, they will have no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation.
The Bible is a comic book… You are a caveman afraid of the dark. Grow up. And since when did this site become such a right wing nuthouse….?
LOL, a caveman? really? Move out of your mom’s basemnet dude. LOL.
We’ve heard that story over and over and over again. That’s all it is, a story. Some of use have learned the bible is a relic that should be shelved or even burned. Look at the problems it causes.
The bible is a curse now.
“Look at the problems it causes.” Really? A book written over the course of thousands of years detailing the problems and solutions of mankind for virtually every aspect of life (including staying out of debt, something our nation could use a little education on at the moment) causes problems? How can an inanimate object cause problems? The problem is not the bible, it is you and all of us. The thing is, that people don’t like to be told that they are wrong. There is such thing as right and wrong. So, in order to not have to deal with the fact that they are wrong they run and hide from it. Wow, sounds a lot like what many people in the bible did when they didn’t want to face the reality of their choices. But, the best thing you can do if you love someone is to help them face the reality of their choices and work through it. One can not be happy if they never confront their mistakes, and refusing to acknowledge their mistakes just prolongs their suffering. If you don’t think that’s true look at the divorce rate, the percentage of single-parent homes, etc.; they all confirm this. It is not because of the bible that these issues exist, rather it is because we as a society are not using the bible that they exist. Perhaps you should read the bible, you might learn a thing or two.
The curse is that people decided to become so overly narrow-minded that everyone stopped considering possibilities beyond what is at hand and what their peers have exposed to them.
It’s honestly a moot point, as the government has no role in the private lives of its citizens. The social contract itself indicates that we are indeed supposed to be running the government, not the other way around.
If you believe that there is an issue with the system, or that the system is not adhering to the social contract, wouldn’t it be better to spend your time trying to find a way to influence the system rather than spreading negativity on some obscure post that will only be seen by the highly polarized?
I and many I know dont like Darwins book either. I think its out of date and a relic. Its full of stories that cant be proven. Does that mean we can burn that too?
The bible also condemns the eating of shellfish. It’s an outdated piece of fiction with no proper standing in the modern world, and is used as a tool by bigots, who cherry-pick from its words depending on what agenda they are pursuing at the time. Anyone who quotes from it to support any point of view is an idiot.
Let’s not forget… there may still be resentment on Egypt’s part. In 1967, Israel launched a preemptive and unprovoked attack on Egypt… it was then Israel took the Gaza Strip & Sinai Peninsula as it’s own, from Egypt. Basically… creating the confrontation we all see and read about today.
While this ruling is a ludicrous act… it only shows… the people in that VAST desert region, and their “religion drives all” mentality are still living where we did over 100 years ago… or more. Just south, most of Africa is still literally living in the stone and iron ages. These people, and religious extremism, are preventing themselves from joining the path to betterment. John Lennon had it right. We, the world, would be better off without religion… Too bad there wasn’t someone standing next to that first caveman who looked up, saw a bright light burning his eyes and said “god”… too bad that other caveman couldn’t smack him, laugh, call him an idiot, and get back to life. Religion has held back humanity probably 1,000 years in natural evolutionary development. Imagine 1,000 years into the future. Imagine the wars and repression in the name of god. Add it all up over the last 300,000 years… I’d say 1,000 years is a fair estimate.
I am sure my anti-god comments will make many of you angry… but then… your reactions simply prove my point.
Some of us Tea Party “bigots” don’t have a problem with gay rights per se. I have a problem with special rights. If you are gay and want to get married the only problem is that marriage is a religious contract. So…..make it a civil contract and we got a deal. I also am opposed to hate crime legislation because it is impossible to improve the intent or mental make-up of the criminal. Does it really make a victim feel better if the criminal actually liked you? A crime is a crime. If you were attacked it is assault. So convict on assault. I am all about protecting civil liberties regardless of sex or sexual orientation or in this case sexual preference.
I also oppose abortion per se because it is unconstitutional as currently in law. Prior to Roe V. Wade for example, 9 states had legalized abortions. It is a states rights (10th Amendment) issue. You want abortion, move to a state where it is legal or don’t have sex…fair enough.
Pragmatic and Constitutional conservatism is what a lot of tea party is all about. People like Christine or Sarah Palen can have their beliefs. Does not mean they speak for all Tea party members who are frustrated with the national debt, three years of $1.5 trillion a year deficits, 9.2% unemployment and Obama who simply makes excuses at this point and has a socialist anti-American agenda.
You want to take a sausage in the kiester..have a nice day. Not my cup of tea, but hey straight women do it all the time and they can still get married.
“hate crime” legislation is another nail in the coffin of the people’s rights – aren’t ALL crimes hate-filled? of course they are. “hate crimes” are leverage for nonsensical leftists to try to legislate THEIR morality as THE morality and so they make laws that they then wield for their own benefit. this is EXACTLY what the founders avoided by giving THE PEOPLE control – arbitrary law making and law interpretation was what the monarchs did in the feudal construct of england – the founders called that “tyranny” and told the king to go pound sand. the dirty little secret of the left is they think of themselves a benevolent dictators who know best for the little people – they don’t.
Wow, so to follow your “logic.” You spoke to one person who is a member of the Tea Party (we will take your word on it) and you watched an interview where the person interviewed did not actually say what her views are and you have branded all “tea Partiers [sic]” bigots.
I guess we should all follow your example and base or judgments of others on your criterion. What a happy planet we will have.
All Blacks are . . .
All Hispanics are . . .
All Democrats are . . .
All Republicans are . . .
All homosexuals are . . .
All Muslims are . . .
I get it.
Just witness when there is a visible example of someone who disproves “All Black people are Democrats.” The real racism of the Left is exposed then.
you are so right! dr. sowell calls this first level thinking – why bother actually working through the logic when you can just have a tantrum and feel better about yourself!
Have to agree with you RickS. For some reason in addition to having bad teeth (and most probably bad breath), and being WAY too infatuated with the matters of his pecker going up the exit hole, he is way to dumb to “understand” what his offense was. Well, Mr. Oh-so-British-and-rude-Piers could not call this lady names, since this would definitely be his certain demise, so he decided to play the idiotic gotcha-no-matter-what routine. It only shows how limited his skills are. I wish Christine turned table in dear Piers and asked him about his homosexual tendencies. Why would one push so hard one subject? Is Piers interested in legalizing his still closet “relationship”? But again, I would do it, but Christine being a lady decided not to play the stupid game of soon to be Mr. Has-been. Good for her.
I’m so glad you can draw a conclusion that spans an entire segment of the population numbering in the hundreds of millions from a single e-mail that was never returned. You, sir, are perhaps the most powerful practitioner of deductive reasoning ever born.
Oh, and the reason why people are against gay marriage? Generally it’s because most holy books have segments relating to this issue. The more strict religions demand you kill them, the nicer ones just tell you to stay clear and never interact with them at all and god will do the killing for you.
Not saying it’s sane, logical, or right but it is what it is. Maybe if the LGBT community would pull their communal heads out of their posteriors they would realize the government can’t force a Catholic church to marry gay people. I think that’s the real crux of the issue. They don’t want civil unions, they want to make the church say it’s ok that they do what they do which will never happen.
Come up with something other than the word marriage which is between a man and a woman. A union, a bond, a commitment, call it something else as an indication of its diversion from what marriage was created to be. Stop trying to convince us that homosexuality in not a fear-based state of mind or a distortion of what the intent of opposite sex is all about. I’m not even a tea party member and I’m not a bigot, I just know that homosexuality is a distortion. Remember, it takes a bigot to know a bigot and name calling is the result of running out of clear thought.
… So how, exactly, do you know that homosexuality is “a fear-based state of mind”? That sounds like a bigoted generalization to me.
Hi sweetheart, I am not a distortion — you have your own distortions, and that’s fine. You should screw whomever you like, and good for you. My sex life and who I sleep with and how it is done actually has nothing to do with you. Not everything revolves around heterosexual people even though there are more of you.
As for marriage, it is a joke — there are now statistically more divorces than marriages in this country… and I’m talking about divorces BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN. But I guess that’s not a distortion. Or maybe somehow it is all gay people’s fault — or — oooh oooh I know — it’s all the fault of liberals!
I am a TEA party guy and don’t give a rats ass about gay marriage. Frankly the government should not be in the business of issuing marriage licenses. Two people should be able to enter into whatever contractual arrangements they want. I am however forced to laugh at your remark “anyone who discriminates is evil” when that is exactly what you are doing. You paint with a broad brush and wish harm at the group level. In true bigot fashion, you are attempt to justify and are comfortable in your prejudices.
“All bigots are alike”—and then to have the gall to day that anyone who discriminates is evil. Do you even see the discrimination in your own words? Perhaps not. First, everyone discriminates. One discriminates in the company he keeps, or chooses not to keep. One discriminates when determining for whom to vote. At a simpler level, one discriminates between the beef or chicken at the wedding reception. So don’t try the bigotry, discriminatory crap here; thinking people will spot you, though they may chose not to bring it to your attention to it. Quick quiz time–where is the discrimination in that statement?
Seems to me you’re OK with discriminating…as long as it’s discrimination that you agree with. EVERYone discriminates somewhere; everyone has their own moral compass, and a reason for that compass. Christians and people with that TYPE of moral compass believe that relationships between the same sex are not moral based on what their morality – their standard – tells them. Others, like yourself, believe that sexual activity between those of the same sex is perfectly fine based on YOUR moral compass. The problem between those moral viewpoints come when it becomes a political issue.
Personally I believe that sexual activity between members of the same sex is wrong based on my own moral code, but I also believe that it is equally wrong for there to be sexual activity outside of marriage or extra-maritally; my moral code is what defines this for me, though I also understand that others have their own moral standard. As long as it does not hurt innocents, and is between consenting people, it is THEIR decision to make – I have to live only with the consequences of my own actions, and it is not my job to make someone into my mold.
IF, however, I am ASKED to make a decision – by vote or otherwise – on actions the government allows or condones, then I, like those opposed to my definition of morality, will cast my vote based ON my morality – not someone else’s; I will also VOICE my opinion, as those on the other side will, in order to have laws based on my own morality. It is in that very moment that those opposed to my viewpoint will discriminate against me for what I believe…and I am OK with that, it is your right as an American to make your own decision, and then defend that decision, but don’t attempt to tell yourself that your calling others names based on their morality ISN’T discrimination.
If your father married a man you wouldn’t be here, or at best Buttjuice!
Here is your answer (though you won’t want to believe it). The Tea Party doesn’t care about gay marriage or homosexuality (lets use the real word). The Tea Party is about fiscal responsibility and government accountability. The Tea Party is made up of republicans, independents, libertarians, and democrats. There are people in the Tea Party who care about social issues like homosexual marriage but they don’t run the Tea Party. There are also democrats who are against homosexual marriage as was candidate Obama in 2008.
Personally, I don’t care who you have sex with. Leave me out of it, don’t tell me about it, don’t show me pictures, and don’t force me to accept it (that is a violation of MY rights). As for homosexual marriage, there is no such thing. It is a made up term. Traditionally, by law and mores, marriage is between a man and a woman with very few exceptions. You want homosexual marriage then change the definition and not force yourself on me. The homosexual community far from being the victim is acting more like a rapist.
Your entire comment is bigoted. Yet another glaring fallacy of American liberalism, it REPEATEDLY exudes the very evils it claims to be so virulently opposed to.
The federal government has ZERO business regulating or mandating ANYTHING in regard to marriage. The highest level of government that should ever reach is the state level. If a state is full of Muslims, guess what? Gay marriage will not be recognized there. If the gay population takes over Hawaii, I imagine you can expect it to be quite routine.
THIS is how this union is SUPPOSED to function. Issues resolved at the lowest possible level.
Just because you are against immoral, unnatural and perverted sex practices does NOT make you a bigot nor does it make you intolerant as you left wing nut jobs like to sling about when you can’t convince someone that your twisted and unhealthy beliefs and practices are just as normal as everyone elses. You are Godless by your own admission which explains quite a bit, and you are obviously bitter and hateful and desperate because you know you are headed for a HELL of your own making. Sorry, we are never going to give you a pass and condone or accept your chosen evil lifestyle just so you can feel better about yourself.
Cynthia… who the heck are you to say, “WE are never going to give you a pass and condone your chosen evil lifestyle…” If Jesus was behind you when you wrote that, what do you think he would say to you? Seems to me you’re already living in your own personalized, bigoted hell. Have a nice time proselytizing to yourself, because your arguments don’t have the intelligence to convert anyone else.
Oh…you mean like your wish to discriminate against those who make or have more money than you? Guess you will have to look in the mirror someday and realize you have been evil too.
They have spent many decades looking in the mirror and misinterpreting what they see. I don’t expect that to change.
Respect has to be given on both sides. Straight people need to stop freaking out over gay couples. Gay couples need to quit forcing straight people to be educated on something they are not interested in.
If you are a Christian, it’s not for you to judge what someone does. You simply lead your life a certain way, and let others make a decision if it’s noble enough to follow. If they don’t, LET THEM MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS. Same for gay people. Let people who are straight enjoy their relationship. You shoving crap down people’s throat to accept you is just as bad as others doing it to you. Get married, be happy, and quit wasting time being so GD small minded.
Anyonw who does not discriminate is stupid. One must make decisins based on facts. Then one arrives at a decision.Homosexuality is wrong. It is an un-natural act. You homosexuals can live their lives in peace, but under no circumstances expect me to support you. However, the Tea Party has no truck with that. The Tea Party is a group based in fiscal policy.
Does that include you then, since you’re discriminating against someone holding to their own beliefs?
There is no such thing as ‘gay marriage’. The two words. by definition, are mutually exclusive.

Just want to confirm my response is to the above. I hit reply to this post and it went in the general comments.
Wow, so to follow your “logic.” You spoke to one person who is a member of the Tea Party (we will take your word on it) and you watched an interview where the person interviewed did not actually say what her views are and you have branded all “tea Partiers [sic]” bigots.

Publicity stunt! He had Howard Schultz scheduled too. She just happened to “walk off” around the half hour mark. Hmmm.
This is where our country is headed folks. I’m scared. With so many people out of work and hungry scapegoats emerge. The Tea Party will get bigger and more powerful and all they hate – gays, taxing the rich (most of them aren’t rich, that’s the hilarious irony and the proof of how stupid they are) minorities, women’s reproductive rights, science, anything that threatens the word of the bible and everything that keeps our country from being a homogeneous society is threatened by their machine of ignorance.
I try not to hate, god knows I do, but I find it hard not to hate these numbskulls.
Maybe it’s that they think the rich are taxed enough and the 47% of the populace that DON’T pay any taxes should pony up a little…
Warren Buffett doesn’t think the rich are overtaxed. I think he’s got some $$.
Mr. Buffet should stop volunteering to have MY taxes…the middle class’s taxes…increased! He’s in a comfy place financially so of course he can easily advocate for raising taxes.
Warren’s more than welcome to contribute more if he wants. The really hilarious argument is how can anyone be a Democrat? They have a history of bigotry, racism, and fear-mongering.
Then they’re idiots. The wealthy pay lower tax rates than the middle class do. Warren Buffett famously complained about the injustice of his secretary paying a higher tax rate than him. And this nonsense about the poor paying no taxes is just a lie. Last I checked, everyone pays payroll tax, state tax, sales tax, etc. We have seen a terrifying transfer of wealth upwards, with wealthy inequality at its highest levels since before the Great Depression, but these tea party dumbasses with their capitalist Stockholm Syndrome want the rich to have more and more so that when they inevitably become rich themselves, they won’t be bled dry by a bunch of minority parasites. And then the rich who bankroll these “grassroots” movements then distract these magpies with one shiny culture war goal after another. Hey folks, don’t worry about the fact that your wages haven’t gone up in twenty years – somewhere, a poor black woman is driving a car she doesn’t deserve, a gay couple is trying to force their marriage into your church, hippies are trying to stop you from polluting their skies. And then they run after the shiny object and forget all about their economic situation, many of them internalizing some twisted Christian dogma that a person’s social status is God’s will or something.
But let me guess – job creators, Tenth Amendment, blah blah blah socialism, right?
You just blah blah blah’d the constitution. You are not just an idiot, you are a DANGEROUS idiot. You say Koch Brothers, I say Soros. Do you think maybe that this is all a distraction? I have been a member of two large active TEA party chapters and the people you describe are a small minority. Sounds like you swallowed Ed Schultz’s talking points. A pathetic lack of understanding of your opponents.
Wow so you aren’t a fan of the 1oth amendment huh? I’m willin gto bet you aren’t a fan of much of the rest of the supreme law of the land either.
Tough shit
Go to England. When you come crawling back we’ll be sure to revisit your views on the US Constitution and the Rule of Law prior to letting your ignorant hide back in.
Nothing quite like taking your entire world for granted….the left never ceases to amaze me in this country
Warren Buffets gets most of his money from capital gains, not from a salary like his secretary. He is for raising tax rates but NOT ON CAPITAL GAINS, those he wants left at 15%!! That’s what’s wrong with our tax system, if you work at a job for your money you pay at a different rate than if you get capital gains and yet another rate if you invest in municipals
“Last I checked, everyone pays payroll tax, state tax, sales tax, etc.”
Then you need to check again.
The EITC can completely refund the Payroll Tax somebody paid. Even if it didn’t, the 47% who pay no Federal Income Tax are in the same income group that receives much more benefit from SS and Medicare than their contributions could ever pay for — maybe you are unaware of how SS benefits are calculated, but the more payroll tax you pay, the LESS it increases your SS check when you retire, ie. it is not proportional to how much you paid into it. Low earnings are getting back a monthly check equal to 90% of their working income, while high earnings get back only 15%. It is the high earner who gets shafted in SS benefits compared to how much they paid in, while the low earner gets a sweet deal from SS.
“State Tax” means what exactly ? State income tax ? If so, you are wrong. The same people who pay no Federal income tax also qualify to pay no State income tax. If you mean property taxes, then again, the 47% are not likely property owners and so pay no tax on it.
“Sales Tax” ? This 47% group spend most of their money on rent, groceries, medicines and services — exactly the things most states exempt from their sales tax. These people might spend 10% of their income on taxable items like restaurant food and clothing. Multiply by a typical 8% sales tax rate, and they are paying less than 1% of their income in sales taxes.
The 47% figure is accurate for Federal Income Taxes, and if you count local taxes and payroll taxes and offset them by the government services that 47% receives, the picture gets even worse. The ‘freeloader’ number goes up and the true ‘taxpayer’ number goes down.
BTW, Warren Buffet likes to claim he pays a lower tax rate than his secretary, but it is a false comparison. Most of his income is from tax-exempt investments — investments that earn a lower rate of return than equivalent taxable investments, but were chosen specifically to avoid having taxable income. He chooses to accept a lower return, which benefits the states and municipalities that sold the bonds because their untaxable nature makes their lower interest rate attractive to investors with high marginal tax rates like the Federal&State combined top rate of 45%. Basically, the government got its cut at the front end rather than taxing the interest on the bond. He is also phoney because he treats the payroll tax his secretary pays as though it were income tax. He pays more payroll tax than she does in dollars, but his promised SS benefit and Medicare benefit is no higher than hers. SS has a fixed maximum benefit so of course nobody continues paying SS tax on all their income — why would they continue to pay when they get no additional benefit ? For someone who thinks rich people should pay more taxes, Buffet has gone to a lot of trouble to arrange his taxes to be as low as possible — and he never responds when people ask what’s stopping him from writing the IRS a check. The IRS will gladly accept additional money from anyone; there is a spot right at the bottom of the tax form to pay more money than the law says you owe.
We numbskulls as you put it simply hate this era of wasteful out of control and irresponsible left wing government. Obama is a waste of time and everything he says or does is from an ego-centric position. Nothing he does is for the good of our country. We like straight talk like Perry or Christie because they are not full of BS like the President. Doesn’t mean I hold prayer vigils. I don’t even go to church. A lot of independents don’t go to church. Doesn’t mean they don’t love god or give respect to him/her. It means we do it in private.
It is refreshing to see a guy like Perry who love the nation. Do you love our country? Don’t you place a value on your freedom and the defense of the liberties you enjoy? Do you like freedom of expression and speech as you have demonstrated here?
Of course you do. Obama does not like open exchange of ideas in the arena of ideas precisely because his ideas are failed experiment in liberal social engineering.
I would rather have a bible thumper like Perry who runs a great state with low unemployment and a little sermon on right and wrong is never really a bad thing is it?
Come on now…I know everyone agrees if they are honest.
Perry has past ties to neoconfederate organizations, so no points for love of country. A large part of the reason Texas has low unemployment is because of the number of military and oil jobs there, two things Perry has no control over, so no points there, either. I can honestly say I disagree.
Absolutely WRONG.
How many Oil jobs have left California since the reformation of offshore drilling due to State suspensions and regulations. Texas has a different approach. The tax scheme of Texas for speculation and mining is completely different than CA…all of that is most definitely within his control. So are military bases and the civilian support contingent. Texas, for example, has no state income tax which creates demand for large operations – like AAFES and USAA – for military support. That is most definitely within Texas’ control… they just know not to mess with a good thing.
California, on the other hand, has a 9.2% income tax and collects 11.2%, forcing CA residents to give an interest-free loan to the state. CA taxes military servicemen the full amount when they are deployed and taxes the hazard pay supplemental at a higher Gift Tax rate. Texas doesn’t tax it at all.
And all of that IS controlled by the governor and legislature.
Texas has cheaper homes and a comparable income to CA for white-collar jobs, which means your money goes about 25% farther than CA.
California has great weather… and Jerry Brown and the Democrats, so it’s pretty much a wash.
Jobs would be even better – in Texas, not California – save for Obama’s boneheaded suspension of Gulf oil operations.
Wrong. Flat out wrong, and I think your remark broke the irony meter. Do you hear yourself? The earth is 4.6 billion years old, I don’t hate anyone based upon the color of their skin, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, or any other group membership unless they are in the Klan. You are another individual who is very comfortable with YOUR prejudice about people you actual DO NOT KNOW very well. I would not fall into the trap to call all liberals a bunch of idiots with no connection to reality…but that label sure does fit YOU!
Do you not realize where a lot of our jobs come from?
The rich.
That is why middle America, at least those with any common sense; realize why we should not tax the most wealthy. It will simply push them out of the country taking their jobs with them!! See: Jeffery Immelt. Obama’s own job czar, current CEO of GE, he is moving 1000′s of jobs to China. He obviously sees the writing on the wall. Taxing the rich is not the solution. The solution is cutting the umbilical cord of the fat, lazy liberals that want “guv’ment” to give them everything.
It’s a shame your definitions of things is provided to you by television rather than reality and/or history. it’s the entire reason this comment of yours makes you look so ill-informed.
You try not to hate? I think you are trying not to understand.
Who? And who?
I think we’re all ignoring the real issue here. Piers Morgan is a colossal douchebag.
When Morgan said, “When we come back, we’re going to talk about sex,” I would’ve said, “Oh, no, we’re not.” You’re right…he’s a gigantic douchebag. A tabloid hack for 15 years. Has no business being on CNN.
You’re right. He has no business on CNN. He needs to go back to Murdoch and FAUX News.
No, he belongs right where he is – on the Communist News Network (CNN). He is a liberal, pompous ass. I don’t waste my electricity on such garbage. He needs to go back to hacking with his brit buddies’ ass-wipe tabloid.
he is a rupert murdoch protege. he should be on faux news. shame on cnn on hiring sensationalist
He fits PERFECTLY with CNN!
Don’t you know the only reason to appear on news talk shows it to talk only about pre-approved topics and pre-approved questions. This refusal to do exactly as ordered is what makes the liberal media so evil! Do as your told like Fox News does. It isn’t that hard.
LOL You know many of the people commenting on this thread would think you are serious, right?
All i can say is dumb as fuck
Oh great…the kiddies are here. You can always tell because they can’t express a thought without using the F word to impress their friends or some other form of name calling. (sigh) Well dang, it looks like we grownups will have to come back later.
Dave, don’t be so hard on yourself.
Dave, you should have stayed in school. Don’t be so hard on yourself. There’s always a GED.
Why does the mainstream corporate news media even interview this f-ing twit? As a country, we are in a massive downward spiral, and instead of spending time on the things that matter, we’re talking to a woman who doesn’t even hold an office about a book destined to be in the bargain bin by Christmas? Good God. We are so screwed.
O’Donnell isn’t the most intelligent representative, Morgan is a condescending douchebag.
But what is amusing is that the people really ripping into O’Donnell anoint anyone they don’t like a “tea bagger” or “Tea Party” and in doing so reveal themselves to be the bigots they claim to decry. The Tea Party takes no stance on gay marriage. Yes, some farther right adherents gravitate to the TP, but the TP itself is focused on economic matters and there are plenty of registered Democrats and – gasp – even gay people who have lent support and money to the cause (just not in California, which fosters its own peculiar brand of ignorance in its bubble). I have produced commercials in favor of gay marriage, and yet have gone to three LA-area TP rallies and even helped organize the Beverly Hills one; never once has that been an issue at all.
But the left prefers to think their sanctimony is a substitute for knowledge, and hypocritically points fingers at others for doing so.
Plenty? Rrrrrrriiiiiight.
Plenty of registered Democrats in the Tea party? As a member I would say no, a few. BUT, there are PLENTY of independent voters that are typically Dem voters that are members.
Yes, plenty. Basic math is neither sexist, racist or bigoted.
If you got your head out of your butt and your body out of California, you would see what reality actually is rather than the myopic bubble of the West Coast and the outright desperate propaganda of NYC.
AMEN!!!
I thought O’Donnell was very articulate and well-spoken.
All these democrats must be closeted Tea Partiers because I’ve yet to meet one liberal that would be caught dead at a Tea Party rally. This whole idea that the Tea Party is some bipartisan organization is garbage. Name one non-Republican candidate that they’ve supported.
The New York Times released a research study today that showed that these people were far-right social conservatives that want to see the U.S. become a completely Christian nation, are pro-life, are against gay marriage and had a strong dislike for immigrants and blacks long before Obama was president. They’re just far right partisan bigots trying to re-brand themselves as independents or regular folks who had never gotten involved in politics until recently, which is just not the case. Anyone who says the Tea Party is just about the economy or taxes is lying. If that were true they would be supporting Ron Paul in the primaries, the true libertarian candidate, instead of Bachmann or Perry.
Meanwhile, the Tea Party continues to lose public suppport (only 20% of Americans have a favorable view), and yet they have a disproportionate amount of influence in Washington for what is a fringe group that represents such a small minority of people in the U.S.
…you discredited yourself when you said “The New York Times released…”
Try getting your news from the real world, not the one the blind are trying to forge for you. Or better yet, get out of California (where the narrow-minded rumor-mongering about TP participants is the worst) or talk with someone who attends the rallies. You have been spoon-fed a lot of lies, and the only thing more unforgivable is that you WANT to be lied to.
Basic math is not racist, sexist or bigoted. Someday you will realize that.
Lies and damn lies. But they are so sweet and comfortable for you aren’t they? I’m Jewish and nobody has any issue with it. Nor does anyone have issue with our black members. You spew lies that are so weak. How do you explain guys like Alan West or Herman Cain who are darlings to the TEA party. We don’t care squat about skin color. You profess bold bigoted ignorance.
The Tea Party is just the same far-right reactionary Christian theocratic nonsense that’s been poisoning us for fifty years. They got into the House and state legislatures and immediately started going after such important economic issues as Planned Parenthood, gay civil rights and school integration. Oh, and union busting. Those greedy teachers and cops, bleeding the poor Paris Hiltons of the world dry and preventing them from creating jobs. None of them gave a crap when President Bush put two needless wars on the country’s Mastercard, because it was something they liked and enjoyed (bombing Muslims). They’re dangerous hypocrites detached from reality.
The economic rationale behind unions and Planned Parenthood is simple: the government shouldn’t be involved in absolving – even financially – an individual’s mistakes. The individual should take care of the individual. If you get knocked up, that is YOUR responsibility. Deal with it as you wish, and show some responsibility for your own actions. Don’t think you are entitled to MY money if you want to flush the fetus or feed the baby.
Unions are a pox in this era. They are vampiric relics of days past. Once they were needed, but now when the Department of Labor alone has 16,500 pages of labor codes and each state has its own supplemental codes, there is no reason to have unions for anything but very limited work pools (usually referred to as Guilds that exist in labor pools where there is collusion among demand rather than true competition), and certainly not to standard manual labor tasks. Unions don’t make a market, they pollute it, and Unions feed themselves far more than they feed their members. It is one of the great lies of the last 30 years. Once labor unions were necessary; today, they are not or at least certainly in the form they try (and are failing) to exist in.
Hate the fact that jobs moved to China? Thank the unions to a great degree (though not entirely). What do you think will happen if you cannot open a call center in Wisconsin (as my business partners tried to do three years ago) and the Unions muscle in and make it so you cannot do it for less than $37 an hour (a real figure) when the budget was for $21. So the result is you contract to India for $14 an hour and Americans, union and non-union alike, are left without ANY job. (And don’t freak, the dollar figures are not direct wages but ALL costs, from taxes to Union overhead and guarantees, per employee.) Unions chase business away, ultimately, and do it by only rewarding a few members and controlling purse strings of everyone. Go shoot a movie in a right to work state and see how easy it is and how much you save.
The rest? Simple math. Six years ago, Obama himself said on March 13, 2006: “The fact that we’re here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. Leadership means ‘The buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”
I am so sick of the Tea Party and their moronic, tenuous grasp of economic issues and their discriminatory stances on social policy. This performance of Christine O’Donnell’s is like the performance of those two idiot Tea Party hecklers who went after Obama the other day: they were upset because VP Biden remarked the Tea Party members of Congress were holding the debt ceiling legislative process hostage like “terrorists.” They were beside themselves about that — and chose to make a stand about it in national news — and yet, this is the movement that compares Obama to Hitler. That calls him a “Muslim Socialist” and suggests impeachment for trying to make health care affordable for middle class people. What a bunch of ignorant babies in tri-corner hats. As an American, the people of this movement are an embarassment to me. They are buffoons and dummies who will vote against their own best interests because they’re so easy to be worked up into a frenzy by corporate puppet-masters who don’t want to be taxed.
You left wing nuts just don’t understand… there is NOT enough money to keep spending. There is not enough money to keep taxing or employing more people in the government. If you print more, you are not making money only setting us up for massive inflation. Duh! And, I have taken graduate economics and finance but I didn’t need them to know you can not spend, spend, spend and not produce something. Tax the rich more? How much is fair you damn progressives? I tell you what is fair… everyone above poverty level is taxed at the same exact rate. That is fair. Just because some are smarter, work harder, don’t blow their money on pot, bars or smokes, doesn’t mean they have to pay more than those that would rather watch football at night rather than working longer hours.
You know the Egyptians were known for their ‘open’ lifestyle and the average mummy age at death was 32. Africa which is dying of aids is 35, San Francisco, the so-called ‘gay’ capitol of the world average age at death of males is 39. BTW the CDC considers Egypt the center for studying sexually transmitted diseases. No one has to hate gays, just pity them their self-destructive life style.
I’ll try to type slowly for you. Ready?
The moronic, tenuous grasp of economic issues is s p e n d l e s s! Now that wasn’t too hard was it?
Let’s try it again. S P E N D L E S S! There you go!
We have no discriminatory stances on social policy. Once again, N O D I S C R I M I N A T I O N! Its something like the slurs heaped upon Pelosi and the rest of the Dems on their march after the health care bill was passed. Didn’t happen!
As for the two Patriots that dared to question Obama, it had to do with The Special One’s call for more civility in political discourse. Now if they were to question his “holding a gun to the head of the country” as civil, you of course would find some excuse that was ‘normal liberal expression’.
Impeachment will not be necessary; the Supreme Court will find the Affordable Health Care Act (apt misnomer!) unconstitutional, and I bet it will be 6-3.
If you are so embarrassed by your fellow Americans exercising their Constitutional rights, may I suggest sneaking across the southern border into Mexico. I hear its pretty easy to do these days!
Oh, and either use spell check or learn how to spell ‘embarassment’!
Crap. The Tea Party is just the same old far-right nuttiness. Force women into back alley abortions, pretend climate change is a lie, chip away at the wall between church and state, and above all, help the rich get richer and richer. Insanity. I think you guys would rather see the poor lined up against a wall and shot rather than raise taxes on the rich and corporations, I really do. I don’t know how such lunacy got mainstreamed in American political thought.
We’re also wondering how Progressivism infiltrated and corrupted the Democratic party, mainstream media, and hollywood!
Misinformation, propaganda…that’s how Progressives operate – because Progressivism cannot win on the open battlefield of ideas. It must be passed around in secret, its details whispered, because when one learns the true nature of progressivism, one learns that Marxism never died.
We’d rather see a poor man be able to start a business and make something for himself rather than have the middle class lined up against a wall and their wallets raided to support the poor man’s drinking habit.
You lefties are too soft to even make a man earn a living, unless of course he’s middle or upper class, in which case, tax the shit out of them so the government has money to burn!
Tsk, tsk, Patrick…you and the likes of Mr.Morgan primarily concern yourselves with freedoms below the waist. TheTea Party members are not teabaggers, because that makes you the teabagee…again a reference to below the waist…. as for shooting poor people… sounds like you support the government imbeded institutionalized, racisim which is keeping people dependent and down through pernicious government policies that only put band-aids on cancerous wounds.
Such weak transparent obvious lies. All they do is expose your anger and hatred. Patrick is dumb and thick headed. Patrick is liberal. Thus all liberals are dumb and thick headed. Nope. Just you and others like you who are so comfortable in their insulated bubble of lies. It is abundantly clear you know nothing of what you speak. “chip away the wall between church and state” Your ignorance is laughable. That so-called wall was put in place to restrict the state from dabbling in religion, to prevent them from establishing a state religion. NOT to eliminate all mention of God from the town square. Freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion.
Also, if I were psychologist I would say you sir have deep violent tendencies that you are projecting onto your political opponents. At least twice in here you have suggest “WE” would like to shoot people. “WE” don’t want to shoot anyone. WE believe only in self defense. I think if a left-wing crank like you were in charge you’d have a blister on your trigger finger from shooting conservatives. You may be dangerous. I suggest you turn yourself in to the FBI, you are a terrorist in the making.
OK, to be serious for a moment. Tossing aside organized religion for a moment. Those leaders who recognize God generally speaking are far easier on those they lead than those who recognize themselves as the highest authority. When men deem themselves to be the highest authority it generally does NOT work out well for the governed. This is FAR different from calling for a theocracy which frankly scares the hell out of me and almost all of the TEA party folks. If you don’t understand the difference, perhaps you are just too ignorant to have an honest intellectual discussion,
Dumbass = dumbass
so this is the hole that Liberals come to to commiserate now that “The West Wing” is gone… chuckle
We moronic tea party members as you put it simply hate this era of wasteful out of control and irresponsible left wing government. Obama is a waste of time and everything he says or does is from an ego-centric position. Nothing he does is for the good of our country. I would rather have a bible thumper like Perry who runs a great state with low unemployment and a little sermon on right and wrong is never really a bad thing is it?
Come on now…I know everyone agrees if they are honest.
Rick Perry (aka George W. Bush 2.0) loves our nation so much, and yet he wanted Texas to secede from the U.S. What a joke. If that’s the best Republicans have, then you’re in trouble.
If by George Bush 2.0 you mean a return to 5.7% unemployment, fewer wars, a AAA credit rating and lower debt, sounds like an upgrade over Ohbummer 1.0.
We are so sick of having elitist career politicians finding new and better ways of getting their hands in our pockets for someone who refuses to produce their own sustenance. Stealing from me to buy the votes they need with gimmes for slackers. I’m tired of being slandered, threatened, maligned and libeled by people I disagree with. Once we level the playing field and throw the crap we’ve been thrown by lib/progs back at them, they’ll see the slim chance they have of any kind of future in the new american political scene. Starve the shrieking monkeys.
Yes O’Donnell is an intellectual lightweight I would like to throw under the proverbial bus. Let’s talk about a real jeen-yes like Maxine Waters, there’s someone who can represent Socialism and make it sound yummy. Or Rhodes Scholar Nancy Pelosi. Ha! You are not a tolerant fellow are you? You don’t care for diversity when ideology is involved do you? Bigot.
You sure are closed minded. Why don’t you look into Obama’s background? You will find he was intimately involved with the Midwest Academy. Look into what types of operations Obama funded while a member of the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC). Do you know who founded the CAC? Do you know who wrote the guide for the training of community organizers. Do you know what a community organizers do? Have you ever heard the names Ayres, Dorhn, Knight, Pevin, and cloward or know anything about their relationship with Obama? When you look close enough, you will discover Obama is a socialist. It is not that Obama isn’t proud of his ideology. His mentors some are communists with a small “c”)certainly know the truth. People like myself intend to prevent Obama and his regime from incrementally pushing the United States into becoming a socialist state. By the way, I am an economist. My field of concentration is comparative economic systems.
The obvious response for any Piers Morgan guest who’s uncomfortable with his questions is, “Hey, not to change the subject, but what’s your favorite bit in the phone logs that your wiretappers keep on me? What did your tappers think of me ordering real soda, instead of diet, with my pizza last week?”
Alright, I’m for gay marriage and all but I do think Piers was being a little bit of a dick. Perhaps it would appear differently if I would of been able the full interview instead of the posted clip.
The only reason why Piers would bring something like that up is because of Bachmann on Meet the Press. Who knows, maybe this was just a publicity stunt and everyone will probably forget about it soon.
Piers was out to get her. I have seen him give so many soft ball questions to guests with the same political views as himself. He was brutishly rude and this was no publicity stunt. He owes her an apology.
I’m certainly no fan of the insane O’Donnell, but Morgan WAS indeed being an a–hole.
She’s good looking. I’ll give her that. Otherwise all bets are off. What a bimbo.
She should have hit him right back and ask him “so how are you getting away with hacking into people’s private phones Piers??”He’s such a piece of crap…so miss larry king and by the way I’m a Democrat and wether I agree with her views or not…he was rude!
Too bad O’Donnell wasn’t aware of Morgan’s tabloid hack history. She could’ve said, “When we come back, we’re going to talk about how you ruined people’s lives for a living for all those years as an editor for two notorious repulsive tabloids.”
Republicans are such goddamned babies. Always taking their ball and going home.
To the contrary. O’Donnell was just trying to follow the illustrious example of the President (who walked out of the room when Republicans disagreed with him). Or maybe she was inspired by the Democrat legislators in Wisconsin.
Just another example of gay’tcha journalism…
I really wish Piers Morgan would walk off Piers Morgan.
Best. Comment. Ever.
Awesome comment.
Brilliant comment. I’m so stealing this.
I d prefer if he’d go all ” Geraldo/Skin Heads at the airport bathroom” before he did…
No he’s not. He’s a good interviewer.
Nope, sorry he’s a total douchebag.
This was NOT a good example of his interviewing skills then.
The question he asked was itself childish. Firstly, he knows the answer. Second, how about leading up to it since it comes out of left field? Third, the real question to ask her is “Why?” — that would elicit a far more interesting answer (assiming she’d answer it). And then for him to jump to “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” for no reason… it was childish on his part and was NOT how a good interviewer would work. And good for her for reminding him why she agreed to be on the show.
As I’ve said elsewhere, I don’t like her or her policies, and I always found her accidentally funny when she used to be on Maher’s show, but Morgan was totally out of line.
I don’t know where politicians get off telling journalists what they will and will not be allowed to talk about. Piers doesn’t tell O’Donnell how to be batshit crazy, and she shouldn’t tell him how to do HIS job either.
Piers might be an ass, but he comes from a British journalistic background, and when politicians are interviewed in the UK, all bets are off – they can be (and are) asked about anything, especially topics which might be difficult for them to handle.
I guess Piers still needs schooling in the U.S. approach of handling politicians with kid gloves, and letting them use ‘news’ and current affairs programs to sell their own agenda.
As a citizen that relates to the Tea Party, I continue to be embarrassed by the narcissists like Christine O’Donnell that continue to latch onto a Libertarian movement and hijack for their personal attention needs.
1 – Gay Marriage is not even REMOTELY a Tea Party issue.
2 – Christine O’Donnell is not smart.
3 – Piers Morgan asks very loaded questions of conservatives and is generally very unfair to his conservative guests.
4 – That was NOT the case in this interview. If it’s in the book, it’s fair game. (unless they made an agreement before the show to not address that issue – if that’s the case, then see point #3)
5 – Christine O’Donnell deserves nobody’s attention or $$$. There are defter ways of handling that situation, but she instead went with the “deer in headlights” response.
Idiots like her hog up all the “Tea Party” media stories and distract from the true message of the Tea Party. That’s the problem when you have a “structure-less” organization.
Uh, “idiots like her” are the bulk of Americans. Interestingly, many people said Bush was ignorant, while saying Kerry was smart. Turns out Bush’s grades were better than Kerry’s.
I suspect you have been had by those in the media who would paint just about any conservative as unintelligent, ala Sarah Palin.
Ironically, I have found most conservatives WAY smarter than most liberals simply because conservatives are able to reason and be rational while most liberals are emotional and irrational.
I wish the entire tea party would walk off the face of the planet. There’s not a sane one in the bunch.
Who are you to judge a whole party ,,,,, HA ! HA!
Um, well there were the Nazis for one… I kind of judge them… thought it seems like they have a bunch of advocates on this page…
I’m sorry you’ve never read a book by Ron Paul. Extremely intelligent and visionary. Keep trying.
I suspect Robert hasn’t read any books… his post makes that abundantly clear.
So Robert, are you an ignorant bigot or just trying to bait people? Either way you suck. I wish the planet would swallow your ignorant bigoted arse and turn it into coal for future use. The rest of the well mannered and thoughtful liberals are welcome to stay and live a happy life. Jackass.
The best part is Mr. Morgan actually saying “I think I’m being charming…”
Morgan like the rest of the hit squad media bring up gotcha question that have nothing to do with current topics of the day. The drive by media on the payroll for the democratic party, when confronted by a republican refers to the old playbook. Ask them questions on sex, religion, or race. No person in their right mind would think that a question on gay marriage is appropriate at a time when the economy is crumbling, the dow is tanking, unemployment is on the rise, and our debt is over 14 trillion. And Morgan asked her about gay marriage… wow stunning!!!
