On the heels of Strike Back and Transporter, Cinemax is developing another action drama series, Sandbox. It centers on a group of Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans who return to the Coachella Valley to discover their hometown has been overrun by criminals. The men decide to use the skills they learned in combat to clean up the town, with unexpected results. Feature writers Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore (Red Dawn, The World After) will write the script, with Steve Kronish (24, The Kennedys) on board as showrunner. The three, all repped by Paradigm, will executive produce with Larry and Chuck Gordon. Passmore and Fabrizio, who are writing The World After with Len Wiseman set to direct and recently rewrote Hellifield for Lorenzo di Bonaventura, are managed by Aperture Entertainment’s Adam Goldworm.

Writer of 24 working with the producers of Die Hard? Nice.
Cinemax seems to be the busiest buyer in town. Smart move hiring Jeremy and Andre. Good work, Goldworm.
That’s great! Fabrizio and Passmore have a lot of talent. Congrats.
Love this idea, sounds like the perfect package.
This is a good move for Cinemax.
Could be the beginning of a string of shows that showcases the network as a rated R AMC.
Passmore and Fabrizio are a strong choice to lead the charge.
Congrats, Steve!
Cinemax is planting their flag in a big way on the action suspense genre that all us guys are dying for. Love it!!! Hope it’s a huge success for them!
Chuck Hogan already did this in DEVILS IN EXILE. Very surprised they didn’t bring him in on this or at least option the material in some way.
Oh well. I’m sure Hogan’s people will be monitoring the situation closely and see if this gang comes up with a lot of the “same good ideas.”
The movie “Walking Tall” and the recent TV show “Justified” did this long before Chuck Hogan did
So, is this still happening? Wikipedia points here, and says it’s airing next week, but I can’t find any evidence.
