Greg Berlanti has taken a second project out this season, landing a second straight put pilot commitment. Following the sale earlier this month to Fox of a legal drama to be written by Berlanti’s frequent collaborator Marc Guggenheim, Berlanti and Chuck executive producer Nick Wootton have sold a police drama to CBS. It centers on a young, ambitious police officer who quickly rises to detective — maybe too quickly — after breaking up a major drug ring and becoming a hero. WME-repped Berlanti and Wootton are developing and executive producing the Warner Bros TV/Berlanti TV project together, with Wootton set to write. This marks Berlanti’s first development season at Warner Bros TV since he returned to the studio in June with a mega deal.

Looks like Berlanti is off to a solid start at WBTV
Congratulations to Nick! It’s been a long time coming.
Amazing! Can’t wait to see what this pairing brings.
Wow, another police drama on television.
Greg seems to have the vigorous support of everyone but Nielsen families and film critics.
la confidential?
First Fox and now CBS? Good to see Berlanti breaching out.
Um, is this the same Berlanti who wrote the uber-lame “Green Lantern”? Wow. Where can I sign up for a scribe gig where I fail and get richly rewarded for it? Hollywood, it appears, is one big ol boondoggle!
Wotton is a great guy – very talented. His talent is ‘Splosive!
First Guggenheim and now Wootton. Greg’s not exactly delivering the A-list, is he?
