        • It’s “you’re”, “it’s”, and “investors’”, I believe.

          Thanks for your comment.

        • Blake – you’re a turd and know nothing of which you speak. The film is very much enjoyable and is already building word of mouth. Sorry they did not hire you for craft services, but don’t be so bitter!

        • you mean, “you’re” an idiot. “Your” would be like, “your brain no work so good”

  • Hey, I’ll take this 100 times over half the shit they’re shoveling this year. A story with heart. We could all use a little of that.

    • I haven’t seen it so I have no idea but the surest way to earn an Oscar nom is to either play someone with mental difficulties or someone dying.

Don’t mock it! If someone in a “comedy” (let’s assume) gets a nom that’s always a rare and good thing.

  • September 30th is lining up to be a date movie weekend match up at the domestic box office with both 50/50 and WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER releasing the same weekend.

Based on cast and concept alone, 50/50 might not dominate the opening weekend competition yet might just have the legs to win the race.

  • I saw a test screening of this a while back when it was called “Live With It” …it’s VERY good. I think it’s a tough subject to juggle but they hit all the right beats. Funny, touching….it all works.

  • I hope this is in 3D. Everything else is. The head shaving scene would be insane with the 3D effects.

    • I’m not a Seth Rogen Fan, and really don’t pay much attention to the guy, but I can’t help but notice when someone is being “hated” for making a movie. You are scary.

      • anon, you clearly haven’t experienced the talentless horror that is Seth Rogen.

  • I just went through it– head shaving and all– there’s more humor in the bizarreness of cancer than you might think. You gotta laugh at the crap that comes up.

Comment by vjnla — Thursday August 11, 2011 @ 10:33pm PDT  Reply to this post
  • I read this script two years ago and loved it. It was called I’M WITH CANCER.

The 50-50 title is just more living proof that, once again, some douche in a suit, who’s probably going to get fired next year, pissed on something otherwise pure.

That said, I think a great script always yields a great movie.

Also, haters, keep in mind, the same dick-weed in the suit who destroyed the title also contributed to the trailer. I’m sure the movie is much more heartfelt than the p.o.s. trailer.

People in marketing don’t know how to make movies. They are tasteless, and always will be. Ho hum.

Comment by JM — Friday August 12, 2011 @ 8:27am PDT  Reply to this post

  • It looks interesting. The main actress annoys me though. She was in Up in the AIr.

Comment by Justin P. — Friday August 12, 2011 @ 9:28am PDT  Reply to this post
  • I didn’t get it. I didn’t laugh or find anything about the trailer compelling to see it. They need to add some fart or toilet humor to the trailer.

Comment by J Coop — Friday August 12, 2011 @ 10:28am PDT  Reply to this post
  • Apparently, Team Rogen has decided to exclusively cast him in rolls in which he will plays the friend of someone with cancer. This is a gutsy “outside the box” game plan. Good luck! Maybe a title change is needed though…”Not As Funny People With Cancer”.

Comment by Evelyn Taylor — Friday August 12, 2011 @ 12:35pm PDT  Reply to this post
  • Saw this at a screening this week. It was really well received and they did a great job at striking a balance between the melodramatic and comedic moments. I also feel that it was really well cast.
