This new trailer for 20th Century Fox’s raunchy R-rated comedy The Sitter starring Jonah Hill as the world’s most irresponsible babysitter is attached to Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes in theaters this weekend. Release date is December 9th. Directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) and produced by Mike De Luca, it was written by Brian Gatewood & Alessandro Tanaka:

Where No Baby Sitter Movie has Gone Before…
(since Adventures in Babysitting)
…or Uncle Buck.
I knew there was something familiar about that clip. Adventures in Babysitting was comedy gold.
looks like shit
looks like FUCKING shit
Feels like an unpalatable Cuisinart mashup of “Adventures in Babysitting” (the kid caretaker theme) meets “Pineapple Express” (the ticked off nefarious henchmen in hot pursuit of our protagonists) , ultimately making for one giant crap-o-la fest of a film.
I suppose the execs are hedging that this will be 2011′s “Mall Cop” in which case they are hedging their bets on painfully uninspired movie making, from the screenplay on up.
I’m there – that looks funny as fook. Love PINEAPPLE EXPRESS. Winning team here. Can’t wait.
That looks horrible. They should have had Zack G do this.
WHAT?! are you insane? Jonah totally kills this role. This movie looks awesome! Zack is too weird to have pulled this role off. Get a brainnnnnnn.
So sorry Jonah. I did not realize you would personally be on here reading the comments. Otherwise I wouldn’t have given an honest opinion and responded to the horrible trailer and unfunny, plagiarized premise. Again…my apologies.
It might look horrible but your suggestion for Zack G is even worse
It’s obvious you don’t have a vested interest in this (super lame, stale, knockoff) film and are just a neutral observer who is not Jonah Hill, Jonah Hill’s agent or his manager or publicist. THanks
That movie is already in the works, my friend. It’s called Say Uncle. Look for it in theaters soon.
I did not realize this followed so closely to the Adventures storyline. Did they buy the rights? Or do they claim this is an original story. The trailer almost looks like a shot to shot remake at some points except for trying to go a little bit more dark and raunchy.
Really Jason? At which points does it look like a shot for shot remake? Please elaborate. Thanks.
no, Jason said “shot to shot” remake which is different than a “shot for shot” remake. to clarify, a “shot to shot” remake is some made-up bullshit by someone who doesn’t work in the movie business and doesn’t have a clue.
I usually like Jonah Hill but as usual Hollywood is out of ideas and is rehashing old ones. May be worth a redbox free rental but that’s it.
Give us some new stuff already.
I was exaggerating a bit about a shot by shot remake, but off the top of my head… 1. The Blue’s Bar 2. Blowing up in a restaurant 3. Leaving home to get a friend or in this case get some 4. The bad guys chasing them all over downtown (substitute pot for a playboy magazine because drugs are so hip)
I wonder if Chris H. will play the role of Thor in this to bridge the Avengers film?
Oh, GOD, haven’t we had enough of this crap? Pulease!
I waited for ever to watch GET HIM TO THE GREEK on DVD cause it looked just ok by the trailers and opened to mediocre reviews, and I laughed my ass off. I really enjoyed GREEK, maybe cause expectations were so low, but I laughed a lot, especially the baby Africa song.
Ever since SUPERBAD, Jonah Hill is a true comedic talent. He was great in CYRUS, and I’m betting this will be a fun one too. Can’t wait.
And I grew up watching ADV IN BBYSITTING, and I really don’t have a problem with the similar storylines.
that was fucking hilarious
I saw this at a test screening and it’s fucking hilarious. I’m not a plant. I’ve meet Green before and he’s a nice guy. Otherwise, I have no attachment to the movie other than the script, which I read about two years ago, is fucking TIGHT. Kudos to to Gatewood and Tanaka, and Green’s ability to support funny improv — it translated really well to the screen. Sam Rockwell has a great supporting role in it too.
But will Jonah still be funny now that he’s thin? Tune in to Showbiz Tonight for their gripping five part investigative series.
I saw the trailer at Rise of The Planet of the Apes on Friday, and I honestly thought it was a remake of ‘Adventures in Babysitting.’
I also honestly thought that the trailer for ‘Burlesque’ heralded a remake of ‘Showgirls.’ So what do I know?
Just think how good RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES would have been if it had been a remake of SPLICE and the ape had sex with everybody and then killed them.
Smart people already said it, but I will say it too:
Another shameful Uncle Buck remake (that Vin Diesel vehicle from 5 or 6 years ago The Pacifier also was)…
“Adventures in Jonah Hill Trying to be Funny”
I truly don’t get the draw of Jonah, seth rogen, and james franco. None of them have any charisma or big screen presence. And they’re constantly cast as the same characters over and over (which does happen A LOT with others, too, I know). Pass.
Well you got the first two out of three right — Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill need to kiss the ground and thank God for their alleged careers. They are the luckiest SOBs since David Schwimmer got cast on “Friends”.
My buddies always joke about how Rogen and Hill are proof positive that there’s Affirmative Action for white actors in Hollywood, and they are the shining examples of it. Talentless schlubs both!
MORE STEREOTYPES! YEA! Yet another story about suburban white kids going into the bad ol’ black area in their terrifying night out. And white people wonder what black people are complaining about when we raise the issue of racism. Maybe it’s constantly being USED by whites as marginalized “others” every time you need a scary element in your stupid, narcissistic stories. Adventures in Babysitting did the same thing 25 years ago!
But…he falls in love with a Black woman in this “adventure.” I love Jonah and I love bad ass kids, so, yeah, I’m there. And…Ari Graynor is a funny chica!
