Two steps forward with Captain America, one step back with this.
“Two steps forward with Captain America, one step back with this.”
Have you actually seen both of these movies? In Captain he’s lacklustre, low energy and pretty much entirely without charm and in Puncture he’s on fire, charisma and dynamism personified.
I am so happy Chris Evans is in another role that can put his acting chops to use. Captian America was what it was, entertaining-superhero-summer-popcorn whatever. I remember seeing Evans in Danny Boyle’s Sunshine and being totally caught off guard by how good he was. Hopefully this will be good, and he can do some more serious roles…after his decade long contract ends that is…
This could have been good, if it wasn’t for Chris Evans. I think if they ever make a sequel to TEAM AMERICA, they should replace Matt Damon with a doll that only says, “Chrwis Evvans.” That boy cannot act.
This looks so boring
Chris Evans is a likeable leading man, and this movie looks interesting.
This looks pretty decent… Chris Evans is getting set on a much better path than Ryan Reynolds.
I saw this movie @ Tribeca and it was fantastic. I definitely recommend giving it a look….It really shows the struggle of doing the right thing when big business is involved…
I’m really intrigued by this trailer, I heard the pic is actually compelling. Will definitely check it out to see how convincing Evans can be as an ardent/troubled lawyer.
Saw it, it’s a great film and Chris Evans really does some acting chops. Definitely worthwhile to go see
I’m confused, drama or cheesecake? Why did the filmmakers think we needed to have shots of a typical hollywood muscled out actor in tight or absent clothes? Was the story not compelling enough? The acting not substantial enough? Makes it seem so.
The body is the temple of the mind, spirit and soul, after all. Let’s see the whole Pic to determine if all are present and properly harmonized. I’ve had some interesting run-ins with Millennium and for the most part their pictures don’t appeal much to me. But one of them, The Bad Lieutenant, Port of Call (directed by Werner Herzog) was interesting, believable given it’s New Orleans setting and even managed a nicely wrapped, halfway credible happy ending.
I don’t know many cokehead (or whatever it’s supposed to be) heavily muscled 28 year old brilliant lawyers who prep clients while wearing suspenders with no shirt, but then I don’t know many lawyers. That being said, this does look interesting. Dumb decisions like that are dumb though.
the attorney stuff is the most believable. My first thought was, “Oh, he is still buffed out from Capt. America.” My next thought was, “What kind of drug addict is that buff?”. excluding steroids of course.
saw this wonderful movie at tribeca film festival..marvelous true story and wonderful acting…..good luck…
Wouldn’t it be easier just to re-release The Verdict?
It might, and The Verdict was great; Newman should have gotten his Oscar for that one rather than The Color of Money. However, in light of what we now know about Cardinal Law, formerly of Boston and now under the special protection of the Vatican, as well as the other Catholic Hierarchy/Patriarchy up to their necks in child molesting and cover ups, the Picture’s portrayal of them is a bit naive, generous and dated to say the least.
We’ve seen this movie a dozen times. It was best with Paul Newman in The Verdict.
Michael Clayton was the first proper twist on the theme… not to mention a great movie.
I think if you’re 20 and never seen any small-time-lawyer-going-up-against-evil-corporation movie then it might be great.
To future movies that want to claim that they are base on true events. Then they have balance the dramatic structure and go subtly that brings the tone of a docudrama.
was hoping this was going to be the sequel to Rubber.
+2.
I’m waiting on the remake of Rubber in, say, twenty years time: Remould.
Loved this movie at Tribeca!!!

I will definitely see this when it comes out in NYC!
