EXCLUSIVE: ICM motion picture literary agent Sophy Holodnik is
leaving to become a manager at Echo Lake. Talent agents Steven Fisher and John Sacks will also depart. As Deadline already reported, ICM recently hired three new agents and promoted four coordinators to agents in the motion picture and television departments.
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

Sophy is great and will be very successful in the management biz. I wish her well.
Sophy is GREAT. good for her that she’s gone. that place doesn’t deserve her. she should take all of her clients with her, then move them to different agencies that are actually effective.
ICM is effective. It’s you the client, that’s the problem. Didn’t they tell you?
Go get ‘em, Sophy! Echo Lake is darn lucky to have you.
Sophy is a rockstar and one of the goods ones in this biz!
She will rock
Good for Sophy. Hope the other two are able to land somewhere soon without having any clients to take with them.
John Sacks is truly in a league of his own at ICM. Dar Rollins should have done everything he could to keep him there. There is literally no one in that department who knows more than John. Best of luck buddy I know you are going to land at an even better place.
J.Sacks was one of the bet things going there – if they let him go cause of $ they are fools at ICM. Wherever John lands his fans all over town will surely follow!
Totally agree. Did a superlative job covering my office.
John is a phenomenal agent so it is no surprise that he is leaving ICM.
G Polone’s old stomping ground. The continue to be churned out into managers then producers.
Good luck guys.
John and Sophy are great. Don’t know Steven. Doesn’t seem like a huge loss. Looks like ICM is doing a good job in cleaning that place up.
My guess is that Sacks leaves the business completely. Such a heartless company he worked at. ICM is disgusting. What they did to Sacks is appauling; who gives ONE agent 40 pilots to cover during pilot season and 115 clients to represent? Shame. Hope he finds happiness elsewhere.
Fisher is great. He really hustles and gets it.
Sophy is a true pro — smart, great taste, and honest. She’s got a great last of fimmakers who would be silly not to follow her.
“parting ways”? fisher and sacks couldnt wait to get out of there.
Love Sophy. Don’t know anything about Echo Lake, but I know she’ll be a great manager.
Ding dong, the witch is dead. Sophy Holodnik was one of the most arrogant, unpleasant people I ever had the misfortune of dealing with. She will not be missed.
Things are really all over that place at ICM. Let’s look at it all from an objective point of view:
Sophy – she has a solid rep and knows the business..should have some “nice” business travel with her for management & stay at ICM for a period of time. I hate to say it, but it feels like she was kindly pushed out the door. She’s always been good to me so I wish her luck.
J. Sacks – don’t know him well but understand he’s a very hard worker and has a great eye for comedy. Most of his clients are “developmental” but I heard from a buddy over there he secured 20+ offers during pilot season. Word on the street, he will end up at CAA and they could care less about what clients he brings. They want him, his talents, relationships and ability to service. What a concept?! (Other agencies take note)
S. Fisher – didn’t he live and work in the LA office before going to New York? He’s a hard worker and should really become a manager. I don’t know how well liked he was at the agency BUT a decent guy. I heard his wife is due to give birth in a couple weeks. Rough.
Congratulations, Sophy! You’ll be a great manager! As for Sacks and Fisher….is that really news?
ICM tried to get Jon Sacks to stay. I bet he is going to UTA. The ICM bloodbath continues!!!! Chris Silberman- can you hold on to an agent other that Ted Chervin??? I smell ICM getting sold or going out of business!!!! They can’t take the pain any longer with this mass exiting of agents
john is in a league of his own. his reporting to dar was a joke. it should have been the other way around. ICM would have been smarter to dump dar and keep john.
Very true. John is a phenomenal agent and incredibly hard worker. Wherever he ends up he will crush it
From ICM to ECHO LAKE? Sounds like a downgrade to me. She must not have been THAT great.
That’s good news!ICM has to clean house in their lit department. I’m a writer repped by ICM and they’ve definitely lost their steam. My manager gets me more work than my agent. ICM’s lit department is in shambles. Unless they pick up the pace, I’m moving on.
ICM should fire ALL their lit agents. Have they even sold a spec this year? Infact, have they even got anything on the BLACKLIST?
Bummer.
Uhm, yes. They have.
sorry to see Steven and John go. they were good guys and really passionate about their work and clients. Hope they end up some place great.
John Sacks was a straight-shooter and a great agent– meaning tough but fair and always trying to make the deal work instead of not work….. Hope he lands in a place that treats him well.
Sophy is wonderful: smart, honest and talented and I’m sure she’ll do great things as a manager!
Sophy left ICM for Echo Lake? Obviously not too bright, eh?
Mark my words, Steve Fisher knows where the bodies are buried over there…
Berg and Silbermann are probably looking for a hit man as we speak.
