Jimmy Fallon, hot off receiving three Primetime Emmy nominations for his late-night NBC talk show, will return to his roots Dec. 17 when he hosts the network’s Saturday Night Live for the first time. “I’ve never forgotten where I came from,” he said. “That’s why I’m so incredibly honored to be hosting the Saturday Night Times program December 17th on HGTV.” Fallon was a SNL cast member for six seasons and took over as host of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon in March 2009. Michael Buble will be the musical guest for Fallon’s episode.

Now, Will he do “Late Night” that week and rehearse for SNL, or have “Late Night” in repeats and work on his week off? If so, does he get both “vacation” pay and pay for hosting SNL?
December 17 would be the last SNL of the year before the holiday break, so it’s not a bad show to host!
Have The Muppets ever hosted?
No, although Kermit did sing a song with Robert De Niro somewhat recently. And they’ve done a few sketches dressed as the Muppets. And in the ’70s they actually had Muppets make regular appearances on the show, but they weren’t “the” Muppets.
