EXCLUSIVE: Mike O’Malley, who is a series regular on Glee and a writer on Showtime’s Shameless, has just been cast in Universal’s supernatural comedy R.I.P.D., which stars Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds in a movie based on the Peter Lenkov comic that centers on a police force made up of undead cops. The Robert Schwentke-directed film has been slated for a June 28, 2013 release. O’Malley, who begins shooting his scenes next week, will play Elliot, a kind of ghost. He is repped by CAA and Principato Young.

Good for Mike. I’ve been a fan of his for years, and he’s had such an interesting career, especially the way he’s mixed it up the past few years. From a Nickelodeon game show host, to a (conventional) sitcom star, to now all these unique roles.
Too bad Ryan Reynolds is in it. It’s sure to bomb now.
This is a very funny part and very Boston, so O’Malley is a great choice.
He writes for Shameless?
Ryan Reynolds is one of those actors that for some reason Hollywood decided to convince America was a bona fide “Movie Star” before he became one. That article he wrote about himself (and was on the cover of) Entertainment Weekly should not have been done by someone who wasn’t a movie star yet. He has never fully carried a real box office smash, and it’s one of those cases where Hollywood decided they needed a new leading man, a ton of execs (female) swoon over him, and then he is shoved down the public’s throat without them asking for it. It’s like Colin Farrell, he’s never opened a movie yet he’s supposedly a “Star”. Even Angelina Jolie had issues with this. I can probably go on and think of more but I’m not in the mood.
As I scrolled down, I thought Mike just died….
Oh man, GUTS!
Used to watch that all the time in my younger more vulnerable days.
This whole silly zombie thing is really tired, but come one, GUTS! What a show that was.
I’m in.
CUE MUSIC
Do do do do ya have it? GUTS!
