The Bachelorette capped its lowest-rated cycle ever with a 2.7/8 for its finale last night. That was down 29% from last summer’s finale to rank as the franchise’s lowest-rated closer to date. The Bachelorette: After The Finale Rose special (2.8/8) was down 26%. Still, those were the two highest-rated programs last night, giving ABC (2.7/8, 9.4 million viewers) an easy nightly victory in both 18-49 and total viewers, hitting Monday summer highs in both categories. Fox was second with Hell’s Kitchen (2.4/8), down 8%, and MasterChef (2.3/6), down 4%. CBS and NBC aired all reruns.

Would love to know how TNT’s hits THE CLOSER and RIZZOLI & ISLES stacked up against ABC’s THE BACHELORETTE.
The Bachelor, Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad shows are cheezy, unrealistic and corny but I basically watch them anyway because they are entertaining to a degree.
I could NOT, however, watch this season of the Bachelorette. Ashley might be a nice girl but she was just too boring, add in the manipulative Bentley and I was out by the 3rd or 4th episode. Don’t get me wrong — I like a corny boy/girl to fall in love (i. Jason, Jillian and Bob), with a mix of crazy (insert any of the girls from previous Bachelor seasons, or Wes) with my cheese but something was off this season.
I hope they get it back next go round.

The Bachelor is more popular because more guys watch it for the women on and the women viewers like to see the women be catty to each other. Although Brad wasn’t that bright, it was still fun to watch.
I honestly don’t ‘get’ the draw of these shows. They are so scripted and fake and it’s so transparent. I just don’t understand the fascination.
Even shows like Pawn Stars have some really cheesy-forced scripted stuff and it’s so lame, but at least you can LEARN historical facts and interesting tidbits on that show.

None of the dudes wanted to be with her, none of the viewers wanted to watch her, simple as that.

I watched this show here and there only so I could review this ridiculous show..,This girl(ashley) in particular was f..cking annoying…from her stupid voice(crackling in a valley girl sort of way) to her biting her lip all the time…When she wasn’t that interested in a guy or felt uncomfortable with a particular guy she always bit her lip or lip smacked…again F..cking annoying! I stuck up for her in the begining ..thinking she was cute but then her makeup and false eyelashes became a distraction….as for the darker haircolor–made her appear more doggish. She simply was boring and as plain as they come… The producers definitelys cripted alot of the show to try and make it tantilizing but they surely failed…perhaps they could have had Jake make an appearance just for appearance sakes with Vienna in tow…just to say hi and hear Jake scream from the white-sandy shores of Fiji, “Drown you dirty Bitch-whore, Drown!” Ben…you goof ball..They paid you to go along didn’t they..I really thought you were adorable and then last night you really shamed yourself…come on Ben…Ashley was more interested in herself when it came to you. and why the heck would you propose in the way you did to a girl wearing a Rooster dress….BEN BEN BEN!
Ames was hot! They should use him next season as The Bachelor. Ben is sweet, but don’t think I could hang in there all season with him. Ames is the whole package…if ABC execs are reading.
The show is stale with all the retreads. Stop choosing the rejected Bachelor/ettes and go with someone entirely new, fresh and Bachelor worthy instead of cringe-worthy.
