• This show was not bad at all. You needed to take some time to understand what was going on. Once it makes sense, it’s a great show. You just weren’t paying attention TVwatcher.

• I had to watch this because of Ken Follett and Ian McShane ! It is a weighty Series , but be warned , Reelz Viewers may find it very dark ! So if you like Deadwood , you should like this too , and it is classical in nature with a very good British Cast . Donald Sutherland had too short a role , and it would have been nice to see have seen Kiefer , maybe in the sequel !

• Those may have been stars *in* the series, but they were not the stars *of* the series. Sewell and Sutherland die off early on. The stars of The Pillars of the Earth were Eddie Redmayne, Ian McShane, and Matthew Macfadyen. They did all the heavy lifting; they should get the credit.
