  • Obviously, Sony was not prepared for a Smurfs sequel. The Smurfs success has taken Sony a bit by surprise…but, certainly, it was a pleasant surprise.

    • ah, actually dim one, all they did was wait to see he 2nd week numbers, calculate drop off, then greenlight..since all the offices etc are still open, they just turn the hard drives on and go…fully prepared..anticipated even….

• This is excellent news. The absolute ingenuity and excellent craftsmanship at work in the first Smurfs film shows what vast opportunities are open to this franchise. The Smurfs is easily the best film of the year. Such amazing writing and directing deserves to be explored further.
