I know nothing about this movie and this trailer showed my jack squat. She appears to be a female robin hood. That much I picked up on.

Teaser schmeaser but Lawrence looks like a 16 years old and has a great handle of the bow and arrow. I thought it was better done than similar Brave teaser.
Yeah, it really wasn’t meant for you, it was meant for people who are really excited about the movie…this is what we in the industry call a “teaser”, and it whets the audience’s appetite for a film that they’re expecting based on material that they are familiar with. Word on the net is *every* trailer/teaser/movie is a disappointment. Word on the net was Avatar would be dead on arrival.
Lionsgate did its job. Now everyone will be waiting for the trailer to come out. Jennifer Lawrence is a star.
That being said, can we talk about how tired she looks in the introduction? She needs to take a break…
Maybe she looks tired because her character, Katniss, lives in a post-apocolyptic world and is forced to fight to her death in an annual event named The Hunger Games? Just sayin…
I think Mike B was talking about the introduction to the teaser rather than the film footage itself. At least I think the actress must have introduced the teaser – I’ve honestly forgotten it already.
That awkward moment when a teaser clip makes you less interested in the movie.
Decent for a teaser but not overly impressed. Still, seeing her in full “katniss” mode confirms my doubts about the casting. She looks great but way older than Hutcherson even though they are close in age. Really curious for the final result, in a way I feel like maybe the hype is getting out of control. It is such a hard topic, kids killing kids, to translate to the screen. For all the money banked on Harry Potter and Twilight, there is a Golden Compass or Narnia that don’t pan out.
I have worked on the film and let me tell you, this film is going to blow your socks off! Every time I stepped on set it was a pinch me moment. This little teaser in NO WAY shows the maginitude of creativity in filmmaking that has been happening this summer in North Carolina! From the 5 STAR camera work, the uber-talented craftspeople in all departments, the phenomenal cast, the vision of Suzanne Collins, precise direction of Gary Ross and the brilliant production design, this film is going to wreak havoc at the Box Offices around the world!
Personally speaking, I’m a fan of the books and looking forward to the film.
Professionaly speaking, the teaser would have been more effective had they used one of the Games Makers’ voices as the narrative as opposed to Liam’s (I assume that’s who it was). It should have been more ominous sounding, as if they were using the voice of the Head Game Maker give the “Welcome to the Games” speech, and some indication that they’re fighting to the death. People who haven’t read the books didn’t take anything away from that teaser.
I mean this purely as constructive criticism because I’d like to see this franchise succeed.
