TLC, which at one time rode the huge ratings wave of its reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8 — especially when husband and wife Jon and Kate Gosselin decided to split up during the show’s run and became front-page tabloid fare — has canceled its post-divorce series Kate Plus 8. The final episode will air Sept. 12. Here is the network’s statement:
TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate +8. By the end of this season Kate + 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate + 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future.
Star Kate Gosselin also weighed in on the cancellation. “We’ve had a great run!” she wrote on Twitter. “Six years of whirlwind funfilled adventures thanks to TLC and our many many supportive & diehard fans! While it is very sad for me and the kids (there were many tears at the breakfast table this morning!), we are looking forward with great anticipation to our bright future! As is very typical for me, I am choosing to see the positive in this situation and I am excited to consider the many more invigorating opportunities that may come my way! And maybe even some dating??!! We wish our fans well. And remember, this is not ‘goodbye.’ I prefer to say ‘See you around!’ Xoxo.”

The first two seasons were fun to watch, but then she and her husband turned into celebrity media-fame whores. Didn’t take long for it all to collapse.

On the episode airing tonight, it looks like she has a total meltdown with her assistant. No one is talking about this show anymore. I figured it was just a matter of time until it was axed.
She is horrible mother way she treated those kids there one episode really distrub me one of the kid ask for bottle of water so cameraman gave the little typke his bottle she FREAK OUT

I hope she saved enough money from the show to raise the kids to adulthood and put them through college.

I agree – my parents raised six children – without asking for handouts and acting like they deserved some award. After all – she took fertility drugs didnt she – what did she expect – she got what she asked for. and now – no one cares about her – she is just ridiculous – and the over tanning is really aging her even more – yikes.
Yeah, the world will be a better place without Kate Gosselin using her children to make a buck, but somehow I doubt we’ve seen the last of this 21st century Joan Crawford.
good now maybe the kids can have a normal life without having camera’s in their faces plus kate can now take a break from being another reality tv star and raise the kids like a normal person who does not have cameras around at least thankfuly the network did not try for a kid spin off.
I doubt those poor kids will ever have a normal life with that woman as their mother. She’s probably telling them that it’s all their fault they aren’t being renewed and they will never go on another vacation for the rest of their lives.

Oh this is great news. Never saw a full episode of that wretched show. I hope she fades into the background and we never have to lay our eyes on her, her children, or her ex-husband again.
I’ll miss all of them. This was good tv. She was a draw whether you loved her or hated her. TLC rode a winner.

Thank goodness! It’s about time. The parents should look for real jobs and face the responsibility of raising those kids and not rely on TV shows which we all know never last.
I am sad to see this end. I personally loved the family and liked to watch the kids grow up. Everyone loves to see their family and know what they do and how they grow and I loved watching this family that became our family every week. Kate may be what everyone thinks a terrible mother but I personally think she is a great mom. People are just jealous because she is beautiful and smart and makes a lot of money. Don’t hate her because she is successful and happens to provide for her family. She may make poor choices at times but don’t we all? If you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything at all!!!!
SOMEONE at TLC has finally come to their senses! And her “Diva” behaviour won’t get her very far working in the ‘real world’.

I hope TLC shells out money for therapy for those children.
A producer who works on these types of shows talked about how “typical people” go through depression once the cameras stop following them around. They go through the stages of grief and have issues re-integrating with the normal routines of daily life.
I can only imagine how much harder that will be for children who literally cannot remember a time when there were cameramen and boom mikes and PAs running around with walkie talkies.
Shame on TLC if they do not kick in the bucks.
